Both AK48s germinated and opened their first set of true leaves on 3rd day. NL no signs of germination yet. NL were free seeds from Nirvana. AK48's purchased seeds. All 4 seeds in Rapid Rooters, in coco coir/perlite mix. Solo cups with free flowing drainage. AK48 seeds: Rapid Rooters very shallowly planted in coco/perlite mix. More air flow to roots. Both germinated and broke surface on same day and are growing at same height. Under CFLs for now. Very light breeze on AK48s from fan. Plan to transfer plants before edges of leaves reach Solo cup edges. Will be transferring into 3 gallon smart pots. Would transfer into 1 gallon smart pots but don't want to transfer auto's x2. NL: Rapid Rooters planted halfway into coco/perlite mix. Seeds a bit farther into Rapid Rooters. No signs of germination at this time. Probably less airflow to seeds. Got a 5 pack of these NL AF for free. Will continue to monitor NL seeds. Water pH'd to 5.9-6.0 as needed. 5 mLs CalMag in 1 gallon pH'd water x1 for soil prep for roots. Only watering when cups feel light, or rapid rooters appear to be drying out. Plants will be in 4x4 tent with Growers Choice CMH 315 light, and 1000 watt/200 true watts LED.

You might want to try to dial your ph down to 6.2-5.8. While all the data I've read supports 5.8, I just read a paper from Cornell which kinda puts perfect ph at 6.1 -6.2 or so for soiless, not any higher than 6.2 so it can intake immobile nutrients like iron, sulfur and manganese. Anyhow, just adding my 2 cents. Good luck with your grow!

@GreenRN,try the fan blowing over the tops too, it will help.

@BeefWellingtons, thanks for the advice. I'll raise my lights up first, to see if that helps.

@GreenRN, Honestly no I don't. Some brands of nutrients do suggest a different ph level than the norm. I would research it for sure. I just know that when plants start having a 'bad hair day' it's usually that the ph is off. Also, your plant tops are showing a little heat/light burn. You might consider dialing back your light schedule to a 20/4 or 18/6. I had to do that on mine grows and it really helped with the tacoing leaves on the tops. You should also have a fan blowing gently over the tops, that will cut down on the heat as well. Good luck!

Agree: 24H is the way to go for autos. It's his perk :D It's also a good way to keep them compact if needed.

@GreenRN, they have a fairly good spectrum, maybe they lack a bit in the reddish part of the spectrum, to promote flowering. If you have an hps, i think it's time to put it on :) Beside that, if you want more yield, for the next run, you may want to start lst, hst, fim, defoliation and so on. The objective is to make the highest number of buds under the light in the end :) In this scenario, is better to have a bit more plants in smaller containers, they will finish in time with the schedule and they will compensate a bit for the increased hours of light. The procedures will stess the plants a little, so they will need a little bit extra care. Have fun!

@OneDude, I don't use LEDs, I use Ceramic MH, if that makes a difference. I did raise the light up about 2" and I think that's helped. Leaves not taco'n as much. So thanks for the feedback.

@GreenRN, Hi! Yes, it seems you have a bit of light burn. In my experience, i noticed this: led light have "hot spots" too and under 24H, the leaves under those will get light burns first. To avoid light burns, either you give everything right in terms of environment and feeding or is better to keep the canopy below that level until is early flowering, to promote vigorous flowering. You will probably get some light burn, but many more flowers too :). The more even is the light and the more even is the canopy, the easier to manage light burn. Always go step by step with light height, so you can easily revert back with not too much damage. My personal reasons for 24: i can keep the plants compact (i have limited space); it is easier to reach the highest bud to light ratio; to keep the initial setup cost budget lower: 100W at 20hours = 2000W/hour 100W at 24hours = 2400W/hour to make fat buds (again because of low stretching)

So I think the exhaust fan is more important than the carbon filter and I want to suggest the ac infinity cloud line t6. Its fully programmable. While they make a 4inch and an 8 inch, I would go with the 6inch for your tent. You will always be able to dial it down if it's too high. For the filter I suggest a 6in from terrabloom, that handles 400cfm. These will pair nicely. I don't know where they are made but a little research on amazon can't hurt. (These are both on my personal wishlist). Hope that helps. Hope your shoulder heals well.

@GreenRN, lol, that's funny about the exhaust fan, great minds think alike I guess. I fell on some Ice once and my shoulder has never recovered, I know shoulder pain for sure.

@BeefWellingtons, funny you mention the AC Infinity Cloud Line! I have the 6" and love it. I was hesitant about the price at first, but I am extremely impressed. I think Im going to turn it up some. Thanks for sharing the filter info, i will definitely look into that brand. I appreciate it. Thanks, shoulder surgery is no fun!

Hope your recovery is going well. You should check out the ProFilter50 from Atmosphere. They are pricey but well woth the money. Came in and no dust at all in packaging, cannot smell a thing. I went ahead and got the VTX600 fam to go with mine and it was the best investment as fa r as odor control. Moves air and on high hooked up to insulated ducting I cant even hear it when my door to my box is closed. I am moving around 425cfm. Lol. I wanna try an auto next. Lol.
