I should have started this journal earlier. I got bit by the bud bug, first I wanted something to help with the wife's anxiety (White Dream) and then I thought I could grab something for my sleepless nights Blue Cookies). I decided to grow two strains in a 2x4 tent and a spider farmer 1000 led board that I had for a hydroponic grow for jalapenos and serranoes. I had serious trouble germinating. had to re order seeds and noticed a sell that included of (Mimosa Float). My germination was fixed by adding a squirt of peroxide in a 16oz bottle of distilled water 18hr soak then napkin in two saucers. I decided to do a daily mist with a sprayer and I germinated at 100%. Go Figure. guess they were just drying out after the seeds cracked. Currently this grow is in dethatched garage. It gets hot; I do have a portable AC inside the tent hoping to wall in a closet space for a full room in a short while. This will allow me to move the AC outside the tent and have more of a lung room to draw in fresh air. My soil is a mix of local products, 3 bags of Whittlsey Premium potting soil to 1 bag of Thunderhead Soil. 1/2 cup of the Nelson All Purpose Orgainc nutes, 4 cups of worm casings as well. I realized quickly that the Spider Farmer was not enough juice so I added a EVO 3 This photo was taken on the 9/26 two days after I transplanted from a Solo cup to a 5 gallon Cloth bag on top of the AC Self watering base. I do notice that my girls are drooping on the lower two true leaves. :( I was watering about a pint a day but after hours of the YouTube worm hole. I have moved to 3/4 gallon of water until slowly until saturated and waiting until soil is dry before saturating again.
Week 2 of vegetation Lower 2 Leaves are starting to turn yellow and drooping brown. I believe it may be shock of transplants or the soil is too hot. I am noticing that She is still growing strong. I just transplanted the blue Cookies right next to her No Drooping leaves maybe I've learned from my errors. It seems I need to do a saturation watering every 3-4 days.
This week has been pretty smooth. I plan to add a mixture of kelp meal, alfa alfa meal, feather meal and a touch of bat quano, as a top dressing inside a layer of worm castings before the next watering. The saturation watering has been working well. My white dreams have been reaching for the lights while the blue cookies are spreading out more with fatter leaves. The bottom leaves have turned yellow and withered. I don't think there is a nutrient problem because of the overall health of the plant. I've increased the power of lighting to level 9 on the ionframe evo3. Pretty exciting for my first grow.
Fun week I top dressed at the end of week 3but could not top water as the soil was still moist. Having th A C infinity bottom water trays keeping it watered. Once it ran dry and soul dried I was able to water around Tuesday. Around Thursday and Friday noticed some leave yellowing on the bottom leafs around edges. I'm thinking possibly cal mag deficiency. On14th mixed a little cal-mag in a gallon of water and top watered about 1/4 gal then put another 1/4 gal in the bottom reservoir. Hoping to see some improvements. Also since growth from 4 inches to 9.5 I adjusted the light to 18" away. Still on 9 for the ac infinity ionframe evo3. Wanting to save level 10 for flowering. The auto white dream is turning into a leggy Lil bish the pistols worried me popping out at week three. Did some reading should be normal. I'm definitely getting a wife when I open the tent. If anyone has any ideas. Please let a Newby know! Also some extra drops for the blue cookies in the back what a bushy girl. Should I trim??? It's not auto just feminized. My lady is turning yellow around the edges of the lower leaves others are dark green. I just did a top dressing less than a week ago I used feather meal kelp meal alfalfa meal and some bat quano. Looking at charts it seems to be a nitrogen deficiency. I know feather meal is slow
potassium deficiency, and if recent week of fertilization is similar to previous weeks, then i feel more confident about it based on weighted average npk values loosely calculated in head.
This week I added nutrient to fix the leaves yellowing. Thanks to all the answers 🙏 I was starting to panic. These pistols started on week 3 and now they are turning into tiny buds. The blue cookies in the back are really vegging out heavily! I have noticed roots coming out the bottom of the growing bag. It's a happy feeling knowing I'm getting healthy root development! I do let the bottom reservoir run out for a good drying so I can top water and help the nutrient sink into the dirt. I was worried about being able to keep the autos and photo blue cookies in the same te t through flower.... I'm not anymore. Seed kings says this auto white dream should be on a 12 / 12 schedule anyways! So I'll give the cookies 2 maybe 3 more weeks of 18/6 veg, then flip the whole tent to 12/12. Any thoughts on this?
More yellowing present. Hoping the langbeinite breaks down soon and addressed the potassium deficiency. Also she's not sprouting up as fast I thought for flowering. I will switch over to a 12 / 12 schedule this weekend. Now that the blue cookies are nearly ready.
Tough week. My autos are stunted in growth. The flowers continue to develop though. Leaves are yellowing. I kept with the nutrient feeding adding a little more kelp and worm castings. Also gave some water that had soaked banana peels for quick potassium. The blue cookies also suffered from potassium deficiency but got those taken care of.
White dream still not growing in length but it's definitely producing. It's curious the grow instructions for these white dream autos suggest a 12-12 light schedule for the whole grow. I think I'll get photo beans for this strain to see how they do
Harvesting the white dream Friday. She looks good. Upset that she was stunted by the 3rd week as it never grew past 12" however, I am happy with the flowers that formed. And comparing to the blue cookies growing on side I can say it's more auto flower troubles than my abilities all in all. Throughout the grow I've added equipment that will make my next grow for the Mimosa Float in the veg tent an easier grow. Iv also moved to pre mixed down to earth amendments. Simplifies things.
Yeah you can chop her down brother. I'll give you some tips for next time brother. Use a nice big pot with good porous soil like Promix HP so your plant gets a good veg time. Also use beneficial micro yes and bacteria to aid in root development.
Also a jewelry loop to look at those trichomes for your next harvest.

U can wait like 3-4 days, maybe they will go amber and get stronger.
Overall ur plant looks small and she started yellowing leaves so that lady feels near end.

Plant sex organs are not storage facilities. Any nutrients stored in the leaves is a non issue as long as you don't smoke the leaves. Tests prove that the mineral content of flower is not impacted by whether you flush the plant or not... it simply is not true in a measureable and guaranteed way... it's hard for the true beleivers to let go of this because deep down they feel embarassed to the point of denial, even though everyone makes similar mistakes at various points in their lives.
if you want to harvest now, don't let that stop you. I like to use more than just trichomes as my guide. If you like a more sleepy effect, let those pistils fully die and coil up to little nubs. probably have at least 50% amber by that point. I like an earlier harvest, but each to their own. Don't trust others feelings on it. Experiment with varing ripeness to find what you like. It can feel different to different people.
Think of nyquil.. for most it knocks you out, but for a few they get hyper and wide awak. Weird shit can happen involving slightly different chemistry in one brain to the next...
