Eighth seed of family crops, this season growing among Gorillas, Queens, and homemade seeds!
It took me two seeds to germinate this strain, but now, the seedling is striving to survive because this Gorilla has a big journey ahead in Bilbao... to play! 🖐️👨🌾😁 Thanks to @1Right_Angle for this great gift!
Until next time...

Second week of life, the seedling is struggling to grow, right now it's developing some first leaves that look amorphous, giving it an ugly duckling appearance and I just hope it turns into a beautiful swan!

Third week of life and transplant day, the seedling has been growing these days, and since I had an old-school 8L pot filled with the latest homemade substrate mix, I went ahead with the transplant so the seedling can settle into its new home as soon as possible. For now, I've added 500ml of water, 200ml into the saucer, and I've added a first layer of mulch with a mix of pre-cooked dry amendments and reused dry matter from previous grows. I covered everything with dry organic matter collected from past grows; here, nothing gets thrown away!!
The plant is growing deformed, with its first leaves looking unlike any others, very wide and short, the apex is unclear, and today, with a touch, one of the largest leaves fell off. However, I felt reassured when I saw the good root development. For now, I'm waiting for a companion to activate my homemade grow tent where I'm going to cultivate it; for now, I'll keep it in the main tent.
Two days ago, I added two side LED panels to the main tent, one at 7700K and the other blue at 450nm, so I can bring the canopy lamps closer to the plants and compensate for the missing lighting on the sides. For now, I have 150w in 3 canopy lamps, plus 66w from the two side panels and 14w for ventilation. The truth is that all the plants are very compact with very short internodes.
This season, to make the most of the horizontal space in the grow tent and ensure good airflow to the apices, I installed two 22cm fans that are only 3cm thick and hung them from the crossbars on opposite sides. Last season, since I filled the grow tent too much, I had 4 fans, all above the lamps, which took up a lot of space, but I didn't end up liking it. I had bud rot issues in some plants, so this season I'm going to solve it with these new fans. Plus, I'm going to save a ton of watts because the 4 fans last season consumed 72w. Now, the new fans, which run at 12v, are connected to a voltage regulator and are working at 7.5v with a consumption of 8w and excellent airflow. Besides these, I'm only going to have one more fan above the lamps to disperse the heat from the dimmers. Additionally, I've installed an extra extractor with two 12cm PC fans placed in series; they are very quiet, and I regulate the voltage, currently working at 7.5v and consuming 6w. I keep the main extractor, which is very noisy, turned off during the winter seasons because, for me, noise is important since I live with the grow tent in my workroom.
Until next time...

deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! 🙋♂️👨🌾
Fourth week of life and first in its new pot, the plant is struggling to establish itself and untangle the Gordian knot of the tips, the seedling is growing completely deformed and crushed by the lights, I still can't distinguish the morphology and the various tips, even from germination I could see how the seed germinated in a spiral and I had to help it forcefully to detach from the shell, but I like these strains with mutations and I'm eager to see this ugly gorilla turn into a majestic gorilla strolling through Bilbao.
This week I did an extra watering with a mix of Bio Nutrients to see if it perks up a bit more... all for the cause. This plant is meant to grow in my homemade tent, but for now, while it grows and expands, I have it living with the rest of my crops in the main tent!
Until next time...

deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those who are fortunate enough not to be! 🙋♂️🌱
Fifth week of life and second in its new pot, days of pain and death; as if the deformed growth the plant has shown since the beginning wasn't enough, this week the plant is on the brink of collapse. Five days ago, it began a tremendous agony, all the leaves burned, looking horrific. I added pure water to moisten the upper half of the substrate, and the deterioration has continued until today, or so I believe. I removed the burned leaves and waited, but the decay advanced. Yesterday, I did a root wash with a mix of my Bio seaweed ferment and my fruit lactic ferment, Ormus from the Cantabrian Sea, and homemade honey (EC: 1). Apparently, the seedling shows some life in the buds, and that gives me hope. Today, I did a foliar application to all the plants with 10% nettle tea. This week, I also did a root wash on two other plants with a similar mix that showed similar symptoms. This season, I've had similar problems, to a greater or lesser extent, in almost all the crops. The truth is that the watering mixes have been particularly mild, and only this week did I find the most likely cause... I'll try to explain.
The biggest novelty regarding this season's crops has been the substrate mix. I've made two types and want to compare them: one with homemade substrate (±25%) and bokashi (±25%), and another with a lightweight commercial substrate (±25%), horse compost (±25%). I added pre-cooked coconut fiber (±25%) for 15 days with Microorganisms and Lacto nutrients to both mixes, and in addition to these components, I added (±25%) worm humus, rice husk, minerals, perlite, zeolite, vermiculite, and very humified reused substrate from previous seasons to both substrates. These mixes are actually denser in nutrients than any I've made before, as in previous seasons, the strategy was very light nutrient substrates to base feeding on Bio Nutrients without rest. When I did the root wash this week and measured the runoff, I was left with a dumbfounded look; the organic substrate gave me an EC of 9500, while the more commercial substrate had an EC of 6500. The pH of both was acceptable (pH: 7.3). I believe this is the main cause of the redundant burns in almost all the crops. Additionally, in four plants where I did a watering with a hormone mix (auxins and gibberellic acid), it aggravated the problem.
In all the last waterings this week, I've applied Bio stimulants based on algae, fruits, Ormus, and guanos with an EC between 0.4 and 1, and it has made a difference. Moreover, I've completed the maximum amount of water I've assigned to each pot; this season, I'm growing with a maximum of 15% water in the pot concerning the liters of soil. Last season, I pushed this figure to the limit with 25% water per liter of soil.
In light of these events, until the switch to flowering in all crops, I won't add mixes with nutrients, only very mild mixes with Mountain Microorganisms (MM) and Bio stimulants to help assimilate the excess nutrients from the substrate. In the case of these organic substrate mixes, recovering from overfeeding is much faster than if it were about the accumulation of salts produced by chemical fertilizers... I trust!
Well, despite the frustration caused in these first weeks of cultivation, the difficulties I had at the beginning where I lost good seeds that didn't germinate, etc., etc., these vicissitudes add some extra entertainment to the crops, but above all, what remains is the learning and understanding, and in the end, I hope to have great crops this season. I don't mind extending the vegetative growth period... all for the cause!
Finally, a few days ago, I added the last side LED panel (60x30cm, 4000K) to complete the light box 😁😁😁 for the vegetative growth period. When I switch to flowering, I will change the four current side panels (6400K, 7700K, 4000K, and 450nm) for others with warmer color temperatures. This season, I'm pushing the amount of light in vegetative growth to the extreme, and the truth is that I'm achieving a compactness in all the plants like never before; the thickness of the stems is considerable, and when I switch to flowering, these crops are going to explode!... let's play!
Do you think the Gorilla in Bilbao will survive?
Until next time...

Sixth week of life and third in its new pot, the plant is recovering and rising from its ashes like the Phoenix... fantastic! 🦅
The plant has spent this last week in complete rest; I kept it in a warm and lit spot in the grow tent, it hasn’t eaten or drunk anything, as the substrate is still very moist after the root wash with Bio stimulants I did last week. All the shoots have started to grow, and today I took the plant outside to soak up the inimitable energy of the autumn sun!
I’m going to extend the vegetative growth period as long as necessary; I will only switch this plant to flowering when it shows me it can become a huge gorilla!
I had hopes that the plant would recover, as I firmly believe in my substrates, and to reinforce this belief, the substrate of Gorilla Bilbo has gifted me a bastard seed. This seed, like two others that have grown in other pots, came to the substrate mixed with the reused mulch from the previous season. Last season, I had a great unexpected male; I believe it didn’t pollinate the females, but I’m not sure about that. The reality is that I’ve pulled seeds from all the crops; from one plant (Royal Purple Kush), many seeds have come out. So, I’m going to grow these 3 bastard seeds in small pots to see what sex they declare, as if they are crosses between hermaphrodite plants, all the seeds will be female, but if the male Durban copulated with some of my females, the seeds will be regular. I have never paid attention to hermaphroditism, as I believe that a cross or back cross between good strains should yield equally good plants. At least this point will be somewhat clarified, as I intend to grow only seeds born at home in the next season, a definitive step towards achieving total self-sufficiency in my marijuana crops. And even though they are bastard seeds, with no known father, I embrace them as mine and will never abandon them... all for the cause!
Yesterday, I set up my second grow tent for this plant and two others, a homemade cabinet of 60x40x125 cm, currently with a 100w full spectrum lamp. This grow tent allows me to add side lamps without losing space; the main tent now has 6 plants that were already asking for space.
Until next time...

Eighth week of life and fifth in its new pot, the plant is striving to grow, it still hasn't consumed the watering from 3 weeks ago, temperatures are low, humidity is high, but the plant seems to be comfortable in its grow tent. I'm going to wait a couple of weeks before switching it to flowering; I want the plant to be very strong and ready to give its all before the transition to flowering.
Goodbye, my friend Shane MacGowan, rest in peace! 😢

Ninth week of life for this plant that suffered a lot in its youth, growing deformed, with a twisted central apex and crowded lateral branches, a plant without a defined shape, but it's a survivor, it has survived everything and has become stronger. I'm going to give it one more week before moving to flowering, although its tent mate is already asking to switch to flowering because it's getting very big. But I want to develop this gorilla; besides, its tent mate might be a male because it's a bastard seed that grew spontaneously among the mulch from the previous season. I collected too many seeds that season, had a treacherous male that I don't know if it mated with the females, and I'm trying to identify the cross. If it turns out male, then it's certain that the Durban male pollinated the grow tent. I currently have another 5 seedlings of equally spontaneous and bastard seeds that I'm going to grow in small 3L pots just to see what sex they declare.
This week, finally, I did the second watering since I transplanted the plant and it started having problems. It has grown 10cm, has been over 3 weeks with the substrate moist, but now the plant has tripled its water consumption and has grown spectacularly. I'm lighting it from very close with a 100w full spectrum lamp. Yesterday, I added a 50w full spectrum COB to this homemade tent; I want the light to reach the sides very well. I will keep adding lights when I switch to flowering.
Until next time...

Tenth week of life for this plant that suffered a lot in its youth, growing deformed, with a twisted but very strong central apex and lateral branches that grow crowded together, a plant without a defined shape, but it’s a survivor, it has survived everything and has become stronger, the leaf mass is very dense and the plant has tripled its water consumption this week, plus it has grown 10cm. Today I switched to flowering schedule 12/12h, since the homemade grow tent doesn’t have much height and I don’t want it to go wild. To help with compactness and to compensate for the decrease in light hours, I will also add extra lights to the grow cabinet today.
This week two deep waterings with varied Bio components, the plant is responding very well, it looks happy...

Eleven weeks old and the first since switching to flowering schedule 12/12h, the plant is growing and getting stronger, this week it stretched 5cm, the leaves, buds, and branches are looking very robust, nothing can take down this gorilla strolling through Bilbao! 🦍💃
This week a deep watering with Bio Stimulants, the plant just asks for peace during these hormonal transition weeks.
I added a white light panel (7700K) to the grow cabinet, now 214w spread across two full spectrum lamps in the canopy (150w) and two LED panels on the sides with 7700K and 4000k (64w), I intend to curb the vertical stretching of the two plants I'm growing in this homemade cabinet with lights.

deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those fortunate enough not to be! 🙋♂️👨🌾
Thirteen weeks of life and the third since switching to the 12/12 flowering schedule, flowering is in full swing, growth and strengthening continue, this week it has stretched 8cm and the floral buds are becoming more evident.
Tonight I'm going to move this plant to my main grow tent, replacing it with another that is 10 cm shorter and in a wider pot, this way I'll make better use of the lights in the current tent and in the main tent, I'll have a bit more horizontal space, which the larger plants will appreciate, since I'm growing this plant in an old-school 8L pot and the plant isn't wide.
This week I've given the plant a big feast (EC:2) and it seems to have loved it; it's from this third week of flowering that I start the big game of Fertilization, increasing the doses and variety of Bio Nutrients... without mercy!
••• Well, despite the low activity on GD, I continue my organic experimental process and this time taking advantage of the dark and rainy day and having my marijuana stash well-stocked, I'm going to explain with a joint in hand a new practice framed in the concept of "feeding and protecting the soil" that I've started to experiment with this week with all my pots.
This practice is especially useful for those who have soil and space for outdoor crops; I don't have that space, I can only currently do indoor grows in pots, but that doesn't mean I give up on this type of technique.
If I had soil and outdoor space, I would do this practice every year during the soil's rest season. This practice consists of covering the soil with fresh green grass and immediately provoking the proliferation of certain lactobacillus, Bacillus subtilis, and a multitude of enzymes that only exist when the grass is freshly cut. Once dried, the grass becomes pure organic matter rich in silicon that will also serve as food for the microbiology.
In this diary: https://growdiaries.com/diaries/134104-grow-journal-by-defharo/week/782852
You can read about the practice of making fermented grass for use in creating Soluble Bio Fertilizers, as the bacteria and enzymes from fermented grass are particularly efficient in mineral chelation.
"Fermented grass is the viable alternative for those organic growers who do not have access to fresh cow manure to create Bio Fertilizers. Fresh grass contains Lactobacillus and a multitude of enzymes, and in conjunction with Mountain Microorganisms, I create a Bio ferment with a high population of Microorganisms very efficient in: decomposing organic matter, mineral chelation, and reducing the incidence of pests and diseases in crops, as this type of ferment presents antagonistic relationships and competition with different phytopathogenic microorganisms."
What have I done and how?
Yesterday I went for a walk in the countryside to look for fresh grass, but there are hundreds of types of grass that I don't know, so the first choice to get the optimal grass is to choose those fields where cows or ruminants in general usually graze. I chose yesterday to collect the grass because the day before it had rained quite a bit, ensuring the cleanliness of dust and impurities in the process.
I collected a good amount of fresh grass, still seedless, mainly cutting the green leaves but also taking some roots that contain trichoderma.
On the same day when the grass is still fresh, I chop it up; this is important because the microbiology of this material is lost very quickly as the grass dries out. Once chopped, I mixed it with shredded marijuana leaves that I had accumulated. Then, I raked the mulch from my pots, where I already have a lot of microbial activity, humified organic matter, and remnants of dry amendments in the process of disintegration. I added a good layer of grass and mixed it all on the surface.
Having done the above, I concluded the process with a practice that will allow me to capture and proliferate the lactobacillus, Bacillus subtilis, and trichodermas in record time, before all that living material is lost with the dehydration of the grass.
Finally, I sprayed the entire surface of the grass mixed with the mulch with a solution of mountain water, molasses, and fresh yeast. I want to provoke an accelerated fermentation in the grass that will allow the capture of all living elements, enzymes, and minerals. Although I think this practice would have been better in the vegetative development stage, it still works now, especially to observe the behavior of the practice.
This practice arises from reflection on the care and feeding of outdoor cultivation lands; for me, it's a whole theoretical development that I now apply in my pots. In reality, if I had farmland and thinking about the rotational rest of the plots, I would do it as follows: For the land that will rest that year, I would plant grass and let it grow even until it produces seeds. Then I would cut it and leave it on the land; in this case, the solution with molasses and yeast wouldn't be necessary since the soil where the grass was planted already contains all the microbiology that would take care of turning the grass into organic matter and then into humus. However, if we want to speed up the process, we can also use the solution with molasses and yeast, but in this case, we spray the grass before cutting it to immediately cut it and leave it moistened with the mixture on the ground. In a year, I could have at least two harvests of grass in these resting lands.
As in all my practices and organic solutions, what I try to do is accelerate all the processes of natural decomposition of the forest through the management of waste, raw materials, and indigenous microbiology, in order to obtain high-yield crops and above all, independence from the industry... for me today, there is nothing more subversive than having a self-sufficient organic farm!
Until next time...

deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! 🙋♂️👨🌾
Fourteen weeks old and four weeks into the 12/12 flowering schedule, this week it stretched 5cm, the floral buds are taking control... watch out for the Gorilla!
Beautiful plant, powerful and discreet at the same time, another plant I'm falling in love with because I can love more than one plant and not be crazy!
Between the third and fourth weeks, the plant almost died, it spent days agonizing, I trusted it, cared for it with love, and it survived. Now it shows that all those difficulties that didn't kill it have made it stronger. The foliage mass is intact, big, wide, and thick leaves are capturing all the light for the development of the buds. The main bud looks majestic and is going to give beautiful moments.
This week I moved this plant from my homemade grow cabinet to the main tent since the height it was reaching was hitting the limit of that cabinet. In exchange, I installed two similarly sized plants in full bloom in the homemade cabinet, and they are very comfortable with plenty of light above (LSD and Seriotica). The Gorilla has appreciated the change, its water consumption has increased, and it's growing without brakes from its illuminated corner!
Until next time...

deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! 🙋♂️👨🌾
Fifteen weeks old and five since switching to the 12/12 flowering schedule, the plant has stopped vertical growth and now this Gorilla is focused on flower formation, beautiful buds are popping up everywhere!
I'm growing this plant in a very well-lit corner of my main cabinet, this plant has a very particular morphology, as it has shown various deformities from the start. First, it didn't grow with a defined central apex, the plant began to develop a branched top, I haven't made any kind of apical cut, and now, one of those branches has taken all the spotlight, leaving the other branches and buds behind. But as if that weren't enough, this big main branch is showing chromosomal modifications, and it's clearly visible in the formation of the main bud, so this gorilla is growing the main branch with a polyploid bud! I couldn't be more excited for this deformed but beautiful plant!
The growth of polyploid buds, I've had several, means that the plant develops those buds with more than 2 chromosomes, which translates to greater flower and resin growth... let's play!
Since I have plants in more advanced flowering than this one and they will be leaving free spaces in the grow tent, I hope that by the end of this gorilla's life I can shine even more light on it to try to maximize the lower buds!
Until next time...

16 weeks of life and sixth since switching to flowering schedule 12/12h.
This great deformed gorilla, grown in an old-school 7L pot, with chromosomal modifications, that almost died in the fourth week of growth and was reborn like the phoenix, is now gifting me a large polyploid bud and a collection of vigorous sprouts competing to see which is the most beautiful... I bow at your feet, Gorilla!
The plant's metabolism increases at the same pace as the buds become more evident, as a gift to this survivor, this week big feasts of Bio Nutrients cooked with microorganisms, complicity, and the best ingredients from my pantry, humic acids, bio stimulants from algae, Ormus from the Cantabrian Sea, spiced with guanos, etc. I water deeply every 4 days, and this week, I've also added bat guano and fish meal to the substrate, mixing it with the mulch; the substrate will take care of making these dry amendments available according to the plant's needs.
A couple of days ago, the plant began intelligent self-defoliation, the older and lower leaves are starting to give up their nutrients, the plant is indicating to me which leaves I can remove to quickly open up to the light, the selfish floral sprouts want all the energy and food just for themselves, but the indispensable leaves are the panels that will convert light into energy... let the games begin!
Until next time...

deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one!✋👨🌾
17 weeks of life and the seventh since switching to flowering schedule 12/12h.
Unstoppable, wild, self-governing, the Gorilla plant keeps growing, incredible, this week it has grown 5cm. I believe the main branch with the polyploid bud at the top is honoring the extra chromosomes and is growing taller and wider without brakes. This is the tallest plant in my joy garden, and it forces me to customize the height of the lights in its growth corner... I'm ready!
This week I did two deep waterings; in the first one, I gave a big feast (EC: 2.6) with a mix of 3 of my best homemade organic fertilizers for flowering and cultivation stimulation. This season I'm trying more concentrated watering solutions than usual, where I usually reached EC: 2. I acknowledge that these measures are only valid for me and my Bio Fertilizers, but I want to experiment with limits. I trust in the buffering capacity of my substrates, and to achieve high-yield crops, I'm willing to do anything... without mercy!
To avoid dying of boredom, I made a video where I talk about the tasks I do daily related to shaping the plants in my grow tent (60x120x178cm) with extra side lights. I hope everyone understands that with this "democratic" technique of moving pots, I give the same opportunities to all sides of the plants on all sides of the grow tent, achieving a more balanced morphology and growth... all for the cause!
Until next time...

18 weeks of life and the eighth since switching to flowering schedule 12/12h.
The main bud is widening, it has a genetic mutation of the polyploid type, where it grows with more than 2 chromosomes, and this is making it grow in a very characteristic square shape.
To encourage the growth of this bud and the others popping up on the plant, this week I did two feedings with a variety of Bio Nutrients... there's still a lot of potential for this grow!

This gorilla visiting Bilbao keeps asking for more and more food... and I give it to him! In return, he promises limitless beauty! I water deeply every 3-4 days.
The large and sturdy leaves are starting to take on autumn colors, the hidden leaves surrender their nutrients and fall exhausted to the substrate, while the powerful polyploid bud dominates the scene, accompanied by other branches that also strive for beauty and vigor... God save the gorilla!

The Gorilla continues with a lot of strength and vigor, the autumn-colored leaves beautify the plant, I feed and water it every 3 days.
Today I'm harvesting two plants that leave a nice empty space in the grow tent, this will allow me to light the plants with more light and also have a good space between them for better air movement. I think the plant can hold out for another two weeks... let’s play!
Until next time...

21 weeks of life and 11 since switching to the flowering schedule 12/12h.
The hungry gorilla has accelerated the cannibalization of the larger leaves; the plant wants space and nutrients to fatten up its beautiful buds!
One more week of life for this great plant in Bilbao, now she lives in a very bright but almost empty house, with the sadness of saying goodbye to the season and only the company of my bastard grow. This traveling gorilla will reach the zenith of her glory... to the cannabis Valhalla! Then I’ll smoke her!

Great genetics! This Gorilla strolling through Bilbao has completed its life cycle with flying colors. The buds are hard as rocks, stinky, and very oily... God save this Gorilla!
It has been a very strong and vigorous plant that also gifted me the main bud with a chromosomal mutation, a huge polyploid bud that I will keep with care and smoke next year after a long curing time.
After six months of curing, the potency is exceptional, a herb to leave you sunk in your sofa. Strong smells of earth and forest wood with a breeze of citrus aromas!

22 weeks of life and 12 since switching to flowering schedule 12/12h.
Today I harvested/robbed this plant that has surprised me since the beginning. In its fourth week of life, it almost died, it struggled for a few days and then rose like a phoenix. From that time on, the plant always grew beautiful and vigorous. The yield is going to be decent, considering the small pot I grew it in.
I can't wait to try this smoke; when I do, I'll complete this grow diary... thanks to everyone who visited this grow.
See you soon...

@420DeepGrow, I don't know, but it's having the most deformed growth I've ever seen, for now it's only feeding off the substrate, but I'm going to do everything to turn it into a gorilla beast!
@420DeepGrow, I like plants that struggle at first because if they don't die, they become stronger! Being photoperiodic, I can extend the vegetative growth until they're ready... I really want to get to know this strain! 🙋♂️🦍
