Well gave them their first dose of nutes and they decided to blow up, not sure if i should count this as 4 weeks of veg or not but i may let them bush out another week, take some clips and then flip to flower a week after that! We shall see how all of it goes as a first time taking clones im really wanting to sacrifice the slower of the 8 as a practice plant
@Grimbol, not terribly worried about it setting or tripping anything off, me and my buddy have been building these for quite some time for other projects and weve almost got it dialed in perfectly, his has lasted 3 years so far, mine has now been made for much greener needs
Well done on the grow cab! Just stumbled on your diary today! Where did you get those smaller carbon filters/fans? I have a 10" high section at the top of my cab to house my filter and electronics, but would love to be able to remove the shelf and get a few more inches of height for my lights.
I also have reflective material around my res too! looks like we think alike haha.
Carry on!
@thephalanx420, why thank you for that. Ya these beans i got going right now have a flower time of ~6 weeks and those would be great for me to have going and taking clones at 4 weeks and letting them prepare a root system while the others flowered. I just can never find where to clone them
@H0B0, there are ways to keep the clones in veg permanently, regardless of flower time above. I've started using only water instead of nutrients once the clone is established, and it seems to be slowing down the growth quite well. I just keep pruning and topping every 1-2 weeks as they grow into the lights above, but my advice would be to just start and learn as you go. I was worried about flowering length, and strain height at first, but despite my current strain being a stretchy one, i've got it dialed in quite nicely now.
@thephalanx420, theres no other way i would go now that ive got this dialed in, my next challenge is going to be is getting the cloning chamber underneath timed with my plants up top. I just havent found a short enough flowering strain to get it less than 8 weeks. I will look at my logs and see where i got the carbon filters though and dm you
@H0B0, Curious about why the harvest looks so white in some spots... are you sure it isn't mould? I was afraid of mould, so doubled up on my air circulation fans... luckily haven't had that problem yet, but just thought i'd mention it in case you weren't sure. Hope I'm wrong!
@thephalanx420, just the way the flash was i see where you would think the mold would have been and set in but rest assured this grow, unlike my first had no mold once i got the brown bag method down and correctly dried and cured it :)
@Grimbol, ya i backed the lights up and this week the stretch stayed the same, literal no growth besides thickening of stems and buds. I still got a foot of space but the plants like the baby 600w just a few inches away. If i was running my 2k watt my friend gave me i would be concerned!
Your cabinet is immaculate - the reflective material coated bin is a great finishing touch. Did you construct it yourself? I think any plant would be happy to get to grow in there!
@Book_of_Thoth, thank you for the kind words, and yes, i had a buddy help me after many pre fab bought cabs and seeing them online it was smarter to hollow out a storage cab and build into it instead of around it, everything is internal based!
@OldCoolSativa, thank you and thats the goal, wanna see how well this works! Not looking for large, just consistent and constant good harvests! Thankfully ive got a 1.5x1.5x4 thats soon to be a mother cab if not my pollination cab to keep a steady flow of beans and self made strains going
