Not ready yet. Too many white pistils. A good indication is till the top is mostly or all brown, then the bottom half of the plant will be almost ready. Then just cut the top part and let the bottom part grow a week or two longer.
I see from your diary you on week 6 of flower - that's way too early. I think the soonest you can look at 8 weeks of flower for Indica - so another 2 weeks to go. Be patient. If you cut it too early you'll spoil your harvest.
But to do it properly, you'll need to inspect the trichomes - they tell all. If you don't have a 40x 60x magnifyer, then do a good focussed zoom in with your camera.
Post a pic zoomed in from the top.
Greetings. @CGG @@Simsalabim right all stigmas are white and imho she is about 2-3.5 weeks to harvest. On the breeders website says that flowering period is about 8-9 weeks, therefore you should cut her after 1-2 weeks. But imho, she ends "second trimester" of flowering =) and shee need more time.
Will you give ripen to her? When I started to ripenning my indoor girls they shoot out more buds in the end of flowering period) I саn state that about 10-15% of more flowers sprouted after starting ripen (GHE Ripen, AN Flawless Finish, etc).
ah thank you so much yeah not sure i can zoom that much in with what i have so im trying to look for the colour of the hairs like you say i suspected she had another 1 or 2 to go but wasnt sure again thanks it helps massivly
You said you curious when it will bud .. I see you growing outdoors, then she'll bud when daylight hours get towards 12 hrs. I'm Cape Town .. so my plants will start showing pre flowers February .. then definitely start flowering by mid March..
thanks so much one of the most helpful comments iv recived (: yeah i estimate shes about a week or a few days ahead of this but we only detected it when we did shes against the wall getting morning direct sunlight and genral daytime light sheilded in the afternoon as the area shes in get up tp 40°c which we noticed was possibly cooking roots in the direct heat hence the move. and yes i heard afghan kush is around the 7 week mark from what i heard online glad you think shes flowering nicely as i have no frame of reffrance as to if shes flowering well or not haha as its a first grow all things considerd a ton of those white hairs croweded up so im taking it as a good sign so far.
@CGG, I see your plant is flowering nicely. I said last that planst will start to flower when light gets towards 12 hours - well that doesn't seem to be the case exactly. Currently Cape Town has about 13.5 hours theoretical day light (sun rise to sun set accordning to the weather bureau)... and I have plants that have just started to flower. A buddy of mine has one that almost looks ready for harvest - but his is on a side of a house where it only gets afternoon sun - thus it's effective daylight is kindoff cut short.
So you asked in your week 20 comments "not to sure how long she'll keep flowering for.", well the answer is not less that 8 weeks - I see you have 4 weeks logged on this diary as flowering - so you'll have to be patient for another month. You'll need to go back to exactly when she started to flower (not pre flowers). Google the strain - see if 7 to 9 weeks (usualy ave for Indica) Afgan Kush = Indica. Sativas flower longer .. say up to 14 weeks. Check youtube vids on when to harvest - they'll explain more than I can write here. Cool.
yeah the others we have in the tires aint looking so big so i think we may have stressed those to much in the transplant but this big one has been in this large pot since she was a baby so shes less stressedalso another problem we have is the heat getting up to 42c we have had to put them near a wall so they only get the moring sun and are protected from the afternoon murder heat
