I got these seeds in Spain in 2018,
since then there was a few times that I wanted to plant them, but always some other strain came in the way.
Lately I had the urge to grow and smoke a haze strain. Most of them have a long flowering time, so I said to myself, โhey this one shouldn't take super longโ, so after all these years it's finally time to grow these seeds.
I put all 12 to germination as I think that after 5 years in my fridge some of them might not pop. I was right about that. 10 out of 12 came out. PLEASE take notice that this is not the fault of the breeder. This is a natural process. I have grown strains from Super Sativa Seed Club before. Super Mad Sky Floater (I saw a great RED pheno), Lemon OG, Strawberry Chemdawg OG and Lava Cake and all of the seeds germinated 100%, but the where โfreshโ. I loved smoking each of those strains, so I also have some expectations for the Golden Apple Haze.
Of course these are regular seeds so I am planning to take out all the males and leave only 4 female plants to fully flower. Fingers crossed that I get four female plants because mathematically it should be OK but you never know.
I put them all in 3,2 L pot filled with BAC Lava Soil, mixed with some Mycoterra Krakken powder.
I gave around 800ml of pure filtered water to each pot before putting the seedlings in. This will give me some time before the next watering.
Hope all goes well with this grow.
I never have tried to hold water back for root growth, but
I think you have a good idea with your process.
Good luck with your grow and I look forward to
watching your 'girls' mature.................
@coolnout, Thank you for the good wishes ๐ The idea with the water is to find a balance at the start of the grow. The plants are small and don't need much water, plus with the BAC Lava Soil i notice it takes a long time to dry at the bottom of the pot, so If I don't give them too much water at the start the roots develop a little faster.
@D33jW, Thank You Bro๐ I must say that (as always) I hade to make sure that the temp was a stable 23 degrees and that the RH didn't go above 85%, but I am also happy with the germinantion rate and tempo๐
