LEAF - Skunk #1

11/7/23 - Day 1 - OK so big day going on here. It's time to get this little Skunk#1 seed into some lights! (really it's Day 9, but were going to let it sync up to the app) Above are photos of my best attempt at showing how this system works. First thing you want to do is to run the Leaf software and do the startup procedure. Selecting the Start grow button kicks off step by step instructions on the setup process. There is a video of showing the automatic water fill coming from the RO water setup I created. Normally this is setup for hose water from your house. I want to make sure im using RO water for obvious reasons. I will say, when you are done with you grow in this Leaf box make sure you clean it well. Its been a month since i cleaned it and had i not cleaned this it would take you much longer to start your new grow. This is another grow that's starting out smooth! Ill keep you updated as I move along! 11/13/23 - Day 6 - Shes got her 3rd set of leaves just starting to grow. Her roots are not out of the net pot, but i can see them coming out of the rockwool. 11/16/23 - Day 10 - Here we are on day 10 and she had a root hit the water over night. About 8 hrs later she had two roots in the water and her leaves are starting to perk up. From here on out I expect a rocket ship. Shes getting access to all the nutes now. 11/18/23 - Day 12 - The roots are going about as I expected in this Leaf Box. Shes always sad until her roots hit the water, then the fuse has been lit! There is no going back. When I looked at the water today there was one root that was floating about 7 - 8 in long that surprised me. Yesterday it was long maybe 4" but today it's at least doubled. 😀 Its so much fun growing in this Leaf Box. You really get to experience the joy in it, rather than the stress of trying to figure out some technical issue. Here the techical issues are close to none. I really get to focus on the training part. It also allows me to be more observant and I get more time to think about the little changes that I see. Usually my mind is so clouded with some engineering issue with her life support that I dont usually get the time to really focus on the plant. Its a whole different feel growing in the Leaf box. I posted a video up top. If you watch it you'll understand my above statement. Choosing the option to move to the next phase in the software is about as hard as it will ever get (aside from harvest, thats ALWAYS a bitch) Watch the video and if your feeling some kind of way let me know what you think.

11/20/23 - Day 14 - Today the box flipped to Veg state. I made the decision in the software yesterday, its take effect the next day at the light on schedule. The system will do a couple of things now that it's in Vegetative mode. Lights will remain at 18Hrs On/6hours Off, however the intensity will slowly creep from 30% intensity to 100% within a couple of days. Air Temp will remain the same at 79deg. F Humidity will go down to 50% Water temp and PH will remain the same, 64.5deg. F and 6.0Ph Because I have it all hooked up for Auto water. It started the first video about 1 min after lights on. It drained the water, refilled it. After it refilled it, it turned on the air stone, started the water temp cool down, and it slowly over the next 30 minutes delivered nutes, and finished it off with balancing the PH. All of this was done on its own. I DID NOTHING. Other than verify because why not. I sat back and watched the system work. This time around with everything hook up for auto I really am not doing much. The hardest part of this grow so far is not opening the door while the light is off. the rest of the week I don't expect to do much. I will update daily with pictures and things that I am noticing. This is an Auto strain. I am a little worried about growing an Auto in this box. usually, I can control the growth utilizing the lights because I'm space limited. This time the plants going to flip to flower on its own. I'll need to make sure I am training and cropping early on. 11/24/23 - Day 18 - Everything is starting to get aggressive in there. I say that because the new nodes are growing out of new nodes on the top. It's like its packed full of plant and it all wants to come out at the same time. The leaves have more serrated Leafs than I have seen on any of the other strains I have grown. Ill post a picture of the last time I grew this strain. I did it in Coco Coir. It will be cool to see the differences. 11/25/23 - Day 19 - The Leaves are all reaching up, and the plant is growing so fast! Its such a bushy plant.

11/26/23 - Day 19 - Today was water change day. By time I got around to looking at the plant I realized that a water change had already taken place. How amazing is that. I had to do nothing. I just wake up everyday to a plant much bigger than the day before. Its too easy! 11/28/23 - Day 21 - Today she is much bushier. It seems like shes is growing a whole leaf node out every 24 hrs. Really impressed with the color and size of this thing. I'm learning to expect great things from this Leaf growing experience. 11/30/23 - Day 23 - She keeps geeting bushier, maybe she has grown by about 2" since the start of the water change. Her color is the same all over, that dark but vibrant green. Because this is my first time growing an Auto in this box I'm wondering when I should top her. The branches are so close together. The last strain I grew had tons of room. This thing is growing like a bush. 12/1/23 - Day 24 - I did the first topping today. I took a video but its not uploading. Ill need to move it from my phone and upload from the computer.

12/3/23 - Day 27 - Hello All! Today I was able to catch the water change as it all happened. I have a video that I uploaded above. Here we are going into week 5. Shes growing fast and her branches are close together. Not much going on other than letting this LEAF box do its thing. I'll keep it updated with pictures as we go along. I still have leftover nutrients from the last grow. The A-nute is getting close to being gone. So I replaced it with the A-Nutes that I had purchased to start this grow. Replacing them is super easy. Another water change day in the books! 12/5/23 - Day 29 - I did some cleaning up on the branches. I removed a lot of the fan leaves. I do plan on cleaning it up a little more but I wanted to give her a moment to recover. However, I am starting to think that it does not matter. So far with both of the grows I have done in this LEAF box. When I trim the plant and I think it's going to cause an slow down, I'm wrong. So far I have yet to see a bad result from trimming her. It's almost like the plant likes it better immediately and starts to stretch out and get bigger. 12/7/23 - Day 31 - I noticed there are pistles already forming. I spoke with someone about how quickly that was and they said that I should wait to flip them to flower. Autos are kind of known to start flower when they are stressed. I forsure stressed her out when I just put a huge trim on her. Ill give it another few days to see if the pistles continues to pop up or slow down.

12/10/23 - Day 34 - Hello All, Everything is going well I did the topping, then I trimmed it aggressively for two days. With my other grows they have not been Auto versions, I have been able to trim as I would a normal plant. It appears with Autos if you trim like that in the beginning they will start to flower. For now, they seem to have slowed the flowering and are in full-on growth mode. I don't plan on trimming anymore if I can. I will start scrogging in the next week or so. She needs to grow a couple more inches.

12/17/23 - Day 41 - It flipped to flower today. I didn't document it via video because it's just like all the other videos. Except this change uses different level of the nutes for Flowering. Alot of the bud sites have tons of pistles on them. The plant itself is so round and bushy. The plants branches are very close together. There is a video up there of me using the software to change from veg. to flower. I'll update you tomorrow once the lights come on. Now I only get 12 hrs of light instead of 18. 12/18/23 - Day 42 - FLOWER POWER! Look at those flowers starting to form! It looks amazing!!!!! I think starting from a good seed is better than a clone. If this ends up better than the last grow..... it's already off to a better start. The leaves looks super healthy. 12/23/23 - Day 47 - What a WEEK! The whole family got sick and I was the lone ranger on the battlefield taking care of all the units! So posting had to take a back seat! I did manage to grab some pictures during those days. I posted them up top. This week is the first week of Flower, and its going great! As you can see in the pictures that the buds are starting to take off from the bushy part of the plant. I installed a second Scrogg net, the buds are already starting to launch upwards and I can tell they are going to need some support as they get bigger. The Leaf box has been taking great care of the nutes, humidity, temp, and lighting. There is only one thing that I have had to do manually. Toward the last day of the week, the day before the water change the PH seems to dip down to 5.5. It's not a bad thing to be there for a couple of hours, but it is the lowest range I would ever let PH go in a hydroponic (DWC) setup. I have been adding 2 cap fulls of PH+ to get the PH in check. To be honest, adding 2 caps full of PH+ once a week is NOTHING. I feel like it's the least I could do. The box is creating the perfect environment. It's the perfect Cannabis Oasis, I treat my girls to the finest of living before the end. :) Happy growing and I'll post again after the water change tomorrow! 12/25/23 - Day 48 - Merry Xmas yall! The plant is looking great! She keeps on stretching up with the buds! PH and PPMs are looking great. 12/28/23 - Day 51 - So she has been growing like crazy. For sure this is the bushiest plant I have had in here yet! The undergrowth is insane, the canopy is filling up with buds, its a good day to be Skunk#1 plant. She might be drinking water too fast and messing up the ratios of nutes to water but that's easily fixable by making sure she is topped off every day. Everything is going as expected. Ill update again in another day or so.

12/30/23 - Day 54 - Hello All! I started this week a day early. I wanted to update everyone on something I have been thinking about a lot. Curing. I feel if there was a hole in my growing skills it would be curing. Last grow there was more than I had anticipated. I was not set up for curing 1 lb. I threw in an audible at the last minute. It worked out but I know I can improve with some trial and error and hands-on experience. So after reading a ton, and going off of some of my prior builds for drying, I came up with this design. I have a controller that will turn the air on and will run when the contents inside the box hit whatever RH% I want to set it at. I think the first week I will set it for 78%RH, then every couple of days go down a % until I hit 62%. The thought is that if the bucket gets above the set RH% then the air will kick on and distribute air across the buds until the RH% is back down to where you want it. It will force the humidity out. I won't need to worry about burping. It will happen on its own.... in theory. Ill update tomorrow with some pictures after the water change. 12/31/23 - Day 55 - Everything is looking good. The water change completed this morning while I was in the shower. Its adding nutes now and will do so over the next hour or so. She is starting to get stinky. I had to add the extra carbon filter to the room. I've got some pics up top of that. Happy New Year! Next time I post it will be in 2024! Have a great night and be safe! Dont drink and drive, your life and anyone else involved in an accident is too important! C' YA! 1/4/24 - Day 58 - I have been thinking of trimming her for a while.... I got a comment on the bushy-ness and I got self-conscious and gave her a trim. Lol I have been going bath and forth for a while and that gave me the push to give her a little trim. She looks great and is growing really quickly. Ill update with more pics as it goes along.

1/7/24 - Day 62 - Time for another water change day. There was one little snafu this week. A sensor went bad and it failed to turn the heat on. So for one night the box ran at around 55deg. It's not terrible, but it's also not ideal. I didn't notice any difference in the plant to the negative so we will see this week. She's drinking a ton still. As always I'll update as I take photos or notice any good/bad changes. 1/12/24 - Day 67 - Its been a while since I posted some text. I have been keeping up on the pictures almost daily. There really has not been much to report other than the box is still working, I still dont have to be involved much. I check the box everyday, and everyday the water level looks good, the PH is in line and the Temps are looking good. The smell is starting to REALLLLLLLY kick up though. When i open the box its a musty skunk smell. Its changed from a light and airy skittles type smell, to a heavy dank musty almost skunky smell. I imagine in the next 2-4 weeks the Skunk is going to really turn up.

1/14/24 - Day 68 - Hello and welcome to water change day!!!! Another easy water change in the books. Currently, the nutes are being applied and mixed. Something I have been adding this entire grow is the root armor. It's an additive to the water, it takes the naturally decomposing organic material from the roots and turns it back into nutrients that the plant can use. I have used it every week thus far. The last grow I forgot I got a small bottle of it. I was able to purchase a much bigger bottle for from the Leaf store. That's one more thing that's awesome about the Leaf box. They have EVERYTHING you need to grow and the pricing is fantastic. 1/17/24 - Day 71 - Everything is looking great. I'm noticing the buds are starting to grow outward and get bigger. Its also getting much smelly in there! Ill keep updating with pictures every few days.

1/21/24 - Day 76 - Everything is looking good still. Today is water change day! This time i was out at the box during the change. Everything went well. I did install a new temperature sensor to replace the old one. Also I installed a new C, and PH- bottle. 1/23/24 - Day 78 - I noticed the buds are starting to fatten up. They kind of grow in little nodules sticking out from the main bud site. Its really cool to see. I added some pictures up top! Ill update on some more pictures in the next couple of days. 1/25/24 - Day 80 - The buds are getting fatter and the smell is getting super pungent. Everything is going as planned. I need to start scoping it to check for color. We are still a long ways from starting the flush but it time to start looking!

1/28/24 - Day 83 - Here we are on day 83 and the trichomes are looking good. I bet one week, if not two weeks before I start to flush with water. There are some photos of the Trichomes a couple of weeks ago and then again today. 1/31/24 - Day 86 - The buds are starting to get FAT and grow outward. Tons of new buds coming from the buds. Sounds werid but the buds are growing buds now. The smell is out of this planet strong. Im looking forward to the next couple of weeks!

2/4/24 - Day 90 - Hello and happy water change day! For sure on the back half of the grow. She's getting bigger everyday! The buds as growing and getting more dense. 2/6/24 - Day 92 - GTFOut of here. She's not showing any signs of distress yet, she's still hulking! Those apples are getting bigger by the day! 2/9/24 - Day 95 - Hello all! Everything is going so good. The buds are getting bigger and the smell is honestly CRAZY. The box does a great job of keeping the smell low. But as soon as you open the box get ready. The whole block is smelling this for sure. I posted a video of me swapping out the D nutrient. It's such an easy process it takes more time to unbox the nutrients than it takes to install them. It's about 5 maybe 5.5 seconds to install. Watch the video to see the process! 2/10/24 - Day 96 - The trichomes are starting to get much more cloudy. Still not a lot of amber. She still is not showing any signs of going dead. Her leafs still look really green/purple.

2/11/24 - Day 96 - Water change day!!! Everything is still going great. I'm just waiting on her to tell me what to do. Her leaves are just now starting to lighten up just a tad. The Trichomes are still a mix bag but mostly clear, with less then half cloudy and maybe 1% amber, maybe. So there is still some time. Keep in mind im going to flush her with just water for about a week. So whatever week i choose to start that there will be atleast one week left. 2/12/24 - Day 97 - She's FINALLY showing signs of the end! The leafs are starting to turn a light green. Soon a lot of the leaves will start to turn yellow. I'll check the Trichomes one more time and then we will start the flush. 2/14/24 - Day 100 - We are getting close, today is day 100 of the life cycle. In a week or two she will be coming down!

2/17/24 - Day 103 - The flush starts today! By Thursday I'll be giving her the chop. 2/19/24 - Day 105 - Flush is going well. Buds are still plumping up nicely. 2/21/24 - Day 107 - Ok this is the last day shes at the end of the Flush. Ill start a new week tomorrow, when I open the box up at 9am its chop time! I spent the day preparing, cleaning my workspace. Gathering all my tools, gloves, drying racks, etc. Here are the last pictures you guys are going to see of her growing. Enjoy!

2/22/24 - Day 108 - ok yall harvest is done! I'm exhausted! It took about 3hrs. There were a few things that I will highlight the differences. I have tons of pictures and video to go through. I'll update later...... I'm tired! 2/23/24 - Day 109 - Everything went really well yesterday. I was able to cut the harvest time from 9 hrs last time to 3 hrs this time. Here are some of the details on this. Last time I hung each branch on its own, it took forever to use the twist ties and then to hang each one. This time i used some drying nets. The only problem with the drying nets is for sure there will be one side that is going to be flat..... it's still going to smoke the same and if it saves me 5 hrs. then I'm doing that. LOL I also decided this time not to wet trim the buds before putting them up to dry. I did remove fan leaves that had 0 THC on them, but if there was a leaf sticking from a bud and it had THC on it i left it. That also saved me some time. The bud quality was better this time around, the buds are denser and more compact. I also had almost NO popcorn buds. The last grow I had 2 to 3 ounces in popcorn schwag buds. They were tasty and great but this time around every bud was a legit contender. This could be due to having more space, I used an Auto in the box this time. I thought Autos would be difficult to control in this space limited environment, but it was the exact opposite. It's just as easy if not easier to grow an Auto in this Magic Box. I think its important to note that anything I talk about here is from my own experience, I've purchased everything with my own money and no one pays me for my reviews or details. This is such a labor of LOVE for me. They day I get a job in the Cannabis industry is the day I stop working, at that point it would just be me living my dream having a BLAST! Final weight 364.5gams! Not quite a pound but very close! This strain came out really well, the bud quality with this strain is better than the last grow. It only gets better.
