Growing a Mephisto Double Grabe in a 5 gallon smart pot. Coast of Maine stonington blend for the soil. Trying only one plant in the grow tent this time, in a larger pot, seeing if that makes a difference with yields. Will also be trying the recommended Coast of Maine nutrients this time, previously have used Fox Farms trio. Will also be testing PH for the first time ever.

Definitely saw good growth this week. Gave it a first real soaking on Day 10. Per Coast of Maine's feeding schedule it's not due to get any plant food for at least another week. Will have to consult other Double Grape diaries to see when it had been shifting into flower. My last grow I definitely ran into some nute/ph issues so trying to avoid those this time.

Things continue steady at the start of this week. Hard to tell based on the Stonington Blend feeding schedule when to start here, I don't think it takes into account autoflowers. It claims the soil in a 5 gallon pot provides 30 days of nutrients so I may hedge my bets and add some plant food by the end of week three. 12/23: think it has an obvious nute deficiency. Switch to 18/6 lighting. Will add plant food tomorrow if I can find it.

Week four begins with signs of pre-flower. Purchased a humidifier which has bumped the humidity up to around 45, hopefully not too late on that. Fed it Coast of Maine plant food on day 20. Soaked it on Day 24 along with some CalMag. Began light LST on Day 25. Day 28: Leaf discoloration is the same if not more pronounced. Not sure what the problem is and not sure how to proceed.

Day 29: Solicited some opinions about what was going wrong with the plant and got some more opinions. Learned I should be watering more, enough so that some substantial run off occurs. So poured about two gallons into the pot, supplemented with CalMag. (also put another 1/4 cup of Coast of Maine Plant food in the soil. Runoff PH was 6.5, so that did not indicate a problem. Hopefully the flush will turn it around! Also downloaded the Photone app to try to dial in the lights about. Lowered the light height in order to get the numbers more in line.

Started this week by feeding some fishbone meal, then watering with two gallons of water & Calmag. Watered to runoff. Soil PH is still solid at around 6.5. Humidity spiked to nearly 70 percent after watering. Trimmed some lower leaves that we're blocked from light. Plant health has improved but leaf tips still seem to have some nute burn.

Day 45: Watered with two gallons + 2 tsp calmag. Put fish bone meal in the soil. Watered til run off, runoff PH 6.48. Raised the lights a bit as the main cola was getting pretty close to it. Noticed that my exhaust fan output was weak, turns out the humidifier had clogged the prefilter with white dust. This is evidently a common problem. Using distilled water will eliminate it.

Day 53: Watered til runoff with 2 gallons of PH 6.5 water. Probably could have done it a day or two earlier. Supplemented with Cal Mag in the water, put some fish bone meal in the soil and top dressed with earthworm castings. Removed some leaves. Buds are wet and sticky!

Watered 2 gallons on day 60, tsp cal mag. Light may have been too close to main cola, potential light burn on leaf tips. Buds are fattening up, leaves are frosty. Didn't start off ideally with this one but is hopefully trending towards a successful harvest. Starting to smell pretty strong too!

Plant seems to be gradually working its way toward harvest. No real notable changes in routine or conditions. Watered to run off on Day 66 and added fish bone meal + calmag.

Watered on Day 73, same way I have been. Plant is frosty and buds are thick and juicy. Buds in interior are developed as well that you can't see in photos. Seems to be in a holding pattern of letting them mature, will probably chop in two more weeks.

Did not update this since day 74 since it was really in a holding pattern. But I finally chopped today on Day 90. They probably could have come down 3-4 days ago, but based on scheduling it had to be now. Definite amber trichomes along with some interesting fade colors in the remaining leaves. Everything is frosty, and some of the interior buds you can definitely tell got less light, they are a brighter shade of green. All in all, I learned a lot from this grow about humidity, watering til run off, measuring light intensity, and tried using different nutes (Coast of Main rather than Fox Farms). I also used a bigger single pot rather than two smaller ones, which for a 2x2 tent worked well. May try a basic DWC hydro setup for next time, but for now, time to give this some time to dry and see how it tastes!
