I've noticed my plant is pretty low to the ground like a cabbage. I started the germinated seed a knuckle deep in the soil. Now its starting to grow big but not too much upward. My lights over 2 feet above, 230 watt LEC. Is there a method to grow it taller. It is indica dominant.

I see your are using calmag, Flora micro and Flora bloom. Although you may have a misunderstanding of the ratio you should be using. It appears you are using the 'Lucas Formula' however the ratio is inverted. The Flora micro:Flora Bloom ratio at full strength is 4:8/4L So that's 4ml Micro and 8ml bloom per 4 l. If your like to reduce initially in veg cycle you could go half that the first week or 2. Also now that the plant is bigger you can start to water often with nutrients everytime (you can do a flush before the flower phase if you'd like). Coco coir has a very good property of allowing plenty of oxygen even when the medium is heavily saturated. I run flood and drain buckets, and before I moved to perlite, I ran coco coir straight. I would completely drown my bucket for 15min with water then it would completely drain 6x a day...like I said, its hard to over water. But there is a catch though, coco coir tends to tie up calmag. I always used 1.5ml calmag/l of water. Hope this helps. I got 1.9 pounds on my last coco coir run I did and I ran that formula.

I just realized this freebie seed is feminized and not autoflower like the ones I purchased. I didnt use any growing methods to not stress out the plant. My question is should I start to low stress training or topping? Im going to 12/12 light cycle tonight.

There's no reason why you could not use both; actually I get great results while using a combination of training methods: TOP (or FIM), LST and supercropping. Although, if you are going to TOP, give the plant a week to recover. Good luck mate.

Is it to late to chop off a branch? I have 1 bud site on a huge branch thats low down on the plant. I dont want to stunt growth or shock the plant at this stage.

Hi @jayopp! I'm afraid it's a bit late, pruning shouldn't be done after the 2nd or 3rd week of flowering, mostly because it may lead to new vegetative growth, but also because plants need a few days to recover from each pruning session. You don't want the plant to focus its energy onto recovering neither than new growth, so I'd recommend to avoid pruning now. Hope this makes sense, good luck until the finish line, and happy growing 👊

Looks like you're starting to flower...I'm no expert but it looks that way. Maybe you got an autoflower strain? Again, may not know what I am talking about....but I would get a second opinion for sure just in case that is what is happening. Sure looks like it in the second picture.

@DKBJJ, You just made me have the biggest revelation. I bought seeds online that were all autoflowers, but these seeds were freebies. For some reason I didnt think twice whether or not they were auto's but now just realized they are feminized! My light cycle has been 20/2 this whole time and Ive been using methods used for autoflowers this whole time such as leaf tucking (instead of topping). Now im just sort of overwhelmed because I have to research everything from the start now. Hahaa at least the plants still healthy.

@@grzesiek, i dont know anything! I cant believe I got this far just winging it following another grow journal. It is a LEC light, which did not have an available option on this site, so maybe thats strong enough. I also have a burple LED light thats at least 200 watt true power (its advertised as 1200W) but it wont fit in my tent unless I put it on the side or maybe an angle.

Just looks like nutrient burn to me, man. Nothing too major, maybe cut nutes to half next feeding? How frequently are your feedings? Other than that that’s a big ass kola haha! Way to go!

hey man it's pretty normal to have the plant short in the beggining,it will stretch more in flower anyway, it looks slow because many people dont include the few weeks in their diary, so you think you're doing something wrong, but it's normal with CFL and low power lights ... you're doing everything correctly so far, keep it up! 🚀
