Following The Grow Boss tips on YouTube "...yield is based on light, quality is based on growers talent" "...number one problem is, too much light, too much water, too many nutrients" Nutrients : (after having issues with nut burns, I decided to use Grow Boss's perfect ppm calculator) Invasion T (Glomus intraradices BEG72 and TRICHODERMA atrovide MUCL45632) 1g / plant Monster X mycorhizes (500 000 propaguls / Kg , made in vitro) 2g / 20cl then complete to make 1l Humic Fulvic Booster (humic and fulvic acids) 1ml / 1l Cannazym 2.5ml / 1lRhizoponics 0.4ml/1l Lights: 1 x Adjust-A-Wings Avenger 600w HPS Lumatek 90000Lumens 1000PAR Soil: Platinium Royal Mix premium quality What is vapor pressure deficit? Often, marijuana growers who have their plants in indoor grow tents or rooms with artificial lighting, take into account parameters such as temperature and relative humidity to maximize plants growth and bloom, thus obtaining abundant harvest with top quality flowers. As we will see later, these factors affect different processes of the plant, such as transpiration or nutrient uptake. However, we usually forget about another important factor that is related to the aforementioned ones: vapor pressure deficit or VPD. Broadly speaking, VPD is the difference between the amount of water vapor that the atmosphere is able to retain (which depends on temperature) and the amount of water vapor contained in it (relative humidity). It is usually measured in kilopascals (kPa). Providing our plants with a correct relationship between temperature and relative moisture will keep us on the right VPD parameters, increasing the plant’s activity and thus improving its growth and showing its full potential during the flowering phase. The ideal would be to adjust both parameters (temperature and humidity) to get the best possible VPD value, so that the development of plants will be amazing. In the chart above you can see the right temperature and moisture values to maximize the development of cannabis plants. The green zone shows you optimal values of VPD, in which it would be ideal to maintain the environment. The orange zone shows correct values, in which plants should not have problems to develop normally. However, red areas show values in which your plants will be very far from hit their full potential, since the relation between temperature and moisture is not optimal. With relatively high values of VPD (between 5 and 12) plants tend to open their stomata and release a considerable amount of water vapor into the environment (increasing their transpiration). This increase in transpiration results in an increase in the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which will need more nutrients and will improve its overall growth, both during growth and bloom. The best range is between 7.5 and 10.5, which we have marked in green. However, we must be careful that VPD is not too high (dark red zone) since the plant would close its stomata to avoid releasing too much water vapor to the environment, which would result in fast dehydration due to excessive transpiration. On the other hand, if VPD is too low (light red zone), the plant will also close its stomata for not releasing more water into the atmosphere, which in this case would be already saturated (it would have reached the maximum water retention capacity in a specific temperature). In this way, reducing transpiration will also reduce photosynthesis, which has a direct impact on the plant’s development and yield. That way, VPD is essential when it comes to offer the best conditions for the development of plants, also to understand its water requirements according to the nutrients used and thus adjust them correctly to meet the grower’s expectations. Great answer. Thanks for the detailed response, bro. I like that you are watering with root boosters. Like you but in the flowering stage, I am now watering on a feed, water + mag sulfur, cannaboost , water + mag sulfur, cannaboost, water + mag sulfur, cannaboost. schedule. ie 150 ppm. But this is only a recent development and may have come too late for this run as my plants are clearly over fed. (because as much as I planned not to over feed, infact I was a practicing salt farmer! ;-) ) I think the mag-sulfur swap out for cal mag mid flower is going to be the ticket to improving terpene and sticky bud production, along with my new feed/ watering schedule. Happy growing B, Thanks for sharing. The truth is out there ;-)

@TheFairyBudMother, Well let say it shall be satisfying enough, it won't fill up a 8L jar like the Super Skunk, but it's all about a marvelous quality, she's deep blue purple with an amazing smell of sweet berries. For the total weight harvested it will be updated in 2-3 weeks bro.

@JUNGLE_B4RNS Have you seen this VPD chart? http://www.just4growers.com/media/23631/vpd_2degree.gif It's unfortunate (for them) that so few use this metric to their advantage.

@mulch, Look my plants bro, 60% RH / 22 C from start to middle flowering then 50% RH / 22C till the end. It works for me πŸ˜‰

@mulch, No way, I already have Perfect Environment Syndrome, I try to stay away from it πŸ˜„ It has cost me too much money, I can tell you that your leave will never get -2 C from air temp (checked personally with IR Laser Gun) as long as they are hit by photons (lights).

@JUNGLE_B4RNS, also, its good to see another farmer pay attention to this variable. Considering that the symptoms that caused me to find out what VPD was in the first place, followed by the ridiculous turnaround when i addressed VPD, I am simply startled at how few people bother to pay attention to this metric. Judging just from my own eyes in how the plants reacted when I corrected their environment, this variable is much more important than people realize, although it can be somewhat expensive to address, depending on your local RH. But good work, excellent farming!

@JUNGLE_B4RNS, lol, yea first grow i ever did 15 years ago was a skunk pheno i got from somewhere and i lived in an apartment lol, thank god my best freind lived on the second floor and me on the third because it smelled soon as you hit his landing. needless to say that was a one time thing then haha. i love skunk man, ppl always forget about these old tried and true strains that have no downsides really.

Hi Barns, Your grow is looking great. I am a fan of Grow Boss also. He has helped me a ton. Do you distinguish between feeding and watering? And if you do, what kind of cycle are you using? Keep up the good work.
JUNGLE_B4RNS
JUNGLE_B4RNS
@GH_SOHO, Hi bro, yes I do make a difference between Feeding and Watering . For the first 8 weeks I do not use any Nutrients , transplanting twice in those 8 weeks there is plenty enough minerals in the media (I've had issues using a new Nutrient with the big girls in the end of week 2). I start to use Nutrients in the end of the 3thd week after transplanting in the final pot (cuz we learned that it takes 3 weeks to finish media πŸ˜‰) . For the firsts 8 weeks , I only water them with organic roots boosters (Humic Fulvic , mycorrhizae, enzyme) to maintain the osmosis in the media (cuz we learned that Nutrients has nothing to do in the photosynthesis equation πŸ˜‰). Then I start to use Nutrients in the end/middle of week 8 following a Feed, Water+roots boosters, Water, Water+roots boosters, Feed schedule

@AbroCadabro,whatever the techniques used, the rule of thumb is to use all the light coverage. This is why yield is based on light. I understand you, stop your research, look on YouTube for The Grow Boss on his channel in the playlist there's everything you need and every answer to all your questions ☝️
AbroCadabro

@JUNGLE_B4RNS, I have read about all these techniques. However, I am unsure how and when to implement them. I guess I have a lot more research to do. I was gonna try and do a trellis grow with this Afghan Kush cross I am growing. However, the plant doesn't seem to want to produce vertical growth. So I think I am going to give up on using a trellis this time around. I will probably just stick to lst and super cropping. Thanks for the info!

We pulled another fresh clone of the Blueberry, with the current Pineapple Haze I started a diary for. We've been having issues getting the Mag. level correct... so i don't want to show it here. lol The time it requires in the Mondi Clone Dome is much longer than others? At 14 days ALL others are busting out, but no sign of Blueberry in the Rapid Rooter plugs. So far- So good with this one...
