Brocolis_Grow_Br General Context.
I planted a seed from some random pink mango bud last year. I managed to harvest two plants of different qualities and sizes. I thought it was time to try a quality seed. I figured it would make more sense to try an autoflowering one (where I could plant in succession in spring and summer) and keep learning/improving throughout the season. I got a pack of 4 Gorilla Glue Auto from BSF.
I had never seen the GGauto seed before; I found them very light and looking dry.
I tried one seed in a paper towel; it stayed for almost 10 days and ended up molding, didn’t germinate.
For the second one, I went for 24 hours in a cup of water and then straight into a very small pot with 40% coconut fiber + 40% perlite + 20% humus.

Brocolis_Grow_Br Right after the first pair of leaves, it took on a prettier color and I transplanted it into the final pot. Felt, 20 liters, with a very rich soil preparation + mulch (in this case, I used dry straw that I got from the market stalls). Transferred with the root ball intact, mainly to avoid contact with the super rich soil I made in the first few days, which could completely burn the seedling (I assumed this, but it may be that the soil isn't that strong/concentrated), I'll do tests and different compositions in the next ones. I really wanted to find a super simple soil so a Brazilian could do it without investing millions in the lists of foreign super soils or in fertigation.
I made a mistake right off the bat. I'm planting it at the beginning of October in São Paulo/SP. We were still experiencing low daily light incidence (maybe 11 hours). I placed it in a spot that got brightness + 2 hours of sun at most per day. This really hindered the initial growth (I believe that was the case).
You can tell it spent almost 20 days with VERY weak growth.

Brocolis_Grow_Br I think at this moment, the root system finally started to take hold in the rich soil, because from here on out it began to develop really well. In the photo, you can already get an idea of how vibrant and healthy the plant is.

Brocolis_Grow_Br Now we're talking! When she started to bulk up in week 4 (still pretty late), I thought she could handle full sun (to be honest, I think she could have handled it easily since week 2).
The combination of the roots now probably in rich soil + new exposure to the sun (now with about 8 hours of full sun on her face) gave a beautiful boost to see.

Brocolis_Grow_Br She started to gain body faster and looks beautiful, it's such a shame I didn't put her in the sun earlier, I probably lost half the yield just because of that slow start. But as a first experience, I'm still happy.
I had a small problem with pests, honestly, I don't know what it was, several tiny white spots on some older leaves. It could be spider mites or other things. Anyway, I made an easy mix that I use on plants in general for insects (1 liter of water + 1 tablespoon of detergent + 2 tablespoons of vinegar). I sprayed it for 3 nights in a row after the sun went down. Problem solved.
Notes for next time:
- Full sun in less than 10 days of life.
- Maybe use something to root faster. (I even used the bean washing water, maybe just about 30 ml).

Brocolis_Grow_Br It's doing really well and without any burns or signs of deficiencies; for now, the rich soil seems to be enough. I haven't added anything to the pot yet, but maybe I should.
The last few days have been record heat and sun exposure. Several days with 38C baking. She loved the heat and light, zero problems. Plants next to her, like a blackberry bush and guava tree, got scorched in the same environment, and she kept doing great. I think the felt pot helps a lot with moisture retention.
She has entered flowering and is in the stretching phase. She's about 55cm tall. I removed the two largest leaves to let more light in for the flowers at the bottom; since it's a super small plant (she probably hasn't even used 1/3 of the pot yet), I'm going to try my best to extract some yield. Just a reminder that this is my second time planting, the first with an autoflower and with a known seed (the first time I used seeds that came from a pink mango bud).
She's very fragrant, so anyone growing outdoors needs to be careful.

Brocolis_Grow_Br It kept stretching a lot, looking pretty skinny. You can tell it’s going to be a very clean plant, not dense (but from the videos I've seen, it could be).
Right now, the smell is strong and wonderful. Super citrusy, makes your mouth water when you walk by it.

Brocolis_Grow_Br She's still gaining height and has practically turned into a little pine tree. I think it draws even more attention. She's reached almost 90 cm. I think she's going to stretch a little more, but she's started to fatten up the buds.
I'm unsure whether or not to add something to the soil. So far, she's held up 100% with my soil and looks extremely healthy.

Eu tive agora o primeiro problema. Aconteceram duas coisas ao mesmo tempo:

Brocolis_Grow_Br I decided not to do anything about the yellow leaves at the base. I'm pretty sure I could fix it by adding more phosphorus and potassium, but I'm afraid of causing more problems. And since I think it will be ready soon, I didn't want to add any chemicals right now.
The smell has started to come back. It's not 100% like it was before, but it's stronger and more citrusy again. I can't explain this change.
Other than that, it's looking beautiful, getting fuller every day and more white and resinous. Some pistils are already changing to amber at the tips.
My guess is that I still have about 10 days ahead.

Brocolis_Grow_Br I think the buds have really stopped fattening up, maybe they lacked nutrients. She's resinous and still has a lot of white pistils. If I had all the time (which won't be the case), I would wait at least another 10 days before harvesting.
Another sign of what I think is a lack of nutrients/health is that she ended up getting attacked by whiteflies. Several leaves are affected, I hope none of the buds are.

Brocolis_Grow_Br It's taking longer than I anticipated, I thought it would be a much quicker seed. These photos are from the last day I have available to harvest and put to dry. If I had more time, I would let it go a few more days, but I'm torn between harvesting early and/or letting the bugs advance even more. Since I didn't want to spray anything on the buds, I ended up moving the plant to an area with less sun, but that's less attacked by insects.
The smell is still a sour citrus, similar to pine cleaner. (could be the Diesel mentioned in the description). I would have preferred just the citrus.
Photo of the day: 12/26/2023 (83 days) - harvest day next.
Achei a vibe bem alegre, engraçada.

Brocolis_Grow_Br I harvested early (at least I think it still had more to mature). I was torn between leaving it in its state for another 10 days (with untreated pests and unable to monitor) or just harvesting early and risking it drying without supervision.
I chose the second option.
The harvest went smoothly; I thought it would leave more resin on the glove and scissors, but it was okay, nothing different from what I've seen before.
The smell of grass is still very strong, still overshadowing its citrus diesel scent.
The top bud is huge, and the plant looks like a pine tree (I have another one planted, testing LST).
I'm with a GG4 Feminized from BSF, still about 100 days ahead. After it cures, let us know how the effect, smell, etc. is. The auto outdoors is really cool, congrats on the grow! 👏👏
@BRgreenthumb77, I just uploaded that supplement in the review. I ended up (because of a trip) losing a bit of the timing for harvesting and then taking it out of drying. I think those two mistakes impacted what could have been a really good final product. But anyway, the stuff is strong, a slap in the face, guaranteed smile. I didn't find it to be a light smoke for going out and doing more serious stuff; people will notice you're high because it hits hard. Small eyes.
Put her diary up for us! I saw that it's not on your profile.
