I used the cottonpad method, because it works best for me.
The tent is ready to takeoff 👽
I only got 1 seed in the pad, so i have to have a little bit hope and trust in the genetics.
If it won´t pop, there will be 2 spare seeds, so i´m sure i will get at least one out of it. Until today, all Fastbud seeds i tried popped, so 100% germ rate.
It popped after 48h and got moved into the system.
I call it day 1. There is actually nothing much to say except that they´re growing.
My tapwater measurements are 44.1 Calcium and 22,6 Magnesium.
To measure and use the correct Calcium and Magnesium relationship, i wrote a calculator to be as exact as possible with my calmag relationship by tuning in my tapwater to 3 Ca : 1 Mg at the moment.
I also calculated the vegetation-phase with a demand of 80 mg/l Calcium and 26,67 mg/l Magnesium.
She is sending it 💪
She got her roots in the culture and now she is ready to takeoff 👆
On Day 14 i upgraded my system, so now i can tanke every bucket out of the circulation individually.
This gives me the opportunity to react to an infected or sick plant and can simply put a pump into her bucket to make her stand in her own system, so i can test different nutrient solutions, ec or ph, waterlevel, etc.
Maybe i can save some plants who can not keep up with her crew elseway.
I also installed 2 airstones to the reservoir, because i am too lazy to stirr, when i add something to the solution.
Then i got some 45° feeders to make it look better than thje ducktape version. Next run i will bury them right from the beginnig in an ankle but now im afraid to disturb the plants too much in this stage to get them out just to put the feeders in.
Nutrientwise i added some iron to see, if the yellowish growth of the new leaves are getting better. The pic shows, that they got way greener, but also looks a little tired.
Hopefully they will recover because i also installed the second light, but the timer wasn´t set right, so they got about 2.5h more light.
Wasn´t that nice because i measured around 600 PPFD on the plants, so they got to work a little harder yesterday and the time without water in that stage while upgrading the buckets wasn´t helpful either.
Week 3 started and she is doing ok, but got some spots on the leaves that looks like some magnesium deficiency.
I changed the Ca/Mg relationship back to 3:1 and raised the calmag a bit from 90/30 mg/l to 100/33,3 mg/l.
Yesterday i gave a bit more CalMag to 120/40 mg/l and it seems to work. At least it slowed the progression down so i will raise to 140/47 mg/l today and change the solution.
She will get the heavy feeding from the canna chart.
Both lights are set to 75% what pulls about 450W from the wall and i think she can take it easily.
If i could get the temps down i would give even more light pressure, but the VPD is already over maximum and from now on i have to invest money to develop.
So here are my limits, because i can supply myself and thats all i wanted. This run is meant to test out, how far i can go and how much is possible with strong genetics.
In the next run i will try to reduce my costs step by step without sacrificing too much yield.
She got her first leaf cut on day 17
I changed the reservoir on day 20 and set the calmag relationship to 3.5 : 1 with a measurement of 116,55 mg/l cal to 33.3 mag calculated including my tapwater values of 44.1 cal and 22.5 mag.
My PH is drifting from 6.2 to 5.2 in about 20h and i push it back with KOH. I guess its lack of potassium and i will test this at the end of the reservoir time in about a week.
The EC set itself to 2.2 with all nutrients i wanted to be in my solution.
My solution is drifting heavy. I changed it complete but i have to correct it every 3h. Hopefully i can switch to aqua flores at the next reservoir change. Its more stable i think or at least in my last run it was.
The leaf pics shows that they are more healthy looking with added iron. Looks a bit too much so i cut the iron dose in half to see if the results are getting better.
They don´t look deformated anymore and the margins are closer and more symmetrical.
I had to remove the dripper and set it back to just open hose, because the new dripper got clogged after 1 week. No dripper, no problem 😅
On day 27 i upgraded my setup. It´s just the first phase of an idea i have. More in a few days, when the parts will have arrived and everything is put together and works. 👆
I also got rid of the drift-problem. I added some PK 13/14 and now the PH is that stable, that i can´t bring it down with PH-Down anymore. It´s at 6.1, so i will let it be as it is.
Phase 1 was really successfull and i´m really happy with the result.
Now the temperature of the solution stays at room temperature no matter how much i turn up the lights.
I tried 450w at first for about 7h to see, when the fan starts to switch, but it didn´t, so i tried 600w for the rest of the day. No problem anymore with the temps in the tent or the solution. I absolute recommend it even for soil to prevent heat in the bucket and tent and its easy to clean and it looks awesome clean. I have to wear sunglasses now and I love it!!!😎
On day 36 she slowly starts to bloom, so i will change the nutrients this week to aqua flores.
They are doing pretty awesome compared to my last grow, so i´m really excited for the flowering stage. 💪
On day 39 she shows another strech. She is absolute gigantic and awesome and a real pleasure to grow 💪😁👍
She is a giant 💪💪💪
I had to cut multiple branches, because she has grown way too dense.
Every day i cut the big leaves but she is a machine and it doesn´t even look as if i had done anything.
She gets defoliated every day to get rid off the mass of leaves.
The buds are forming and she smells a bit weird, like weed-vomit. 😅
On day 60 my setup got another light. I took the Lumatek out and changed it for a second Mars Hydro TSL 2000.
Now i can use more space in the tent and the light is spreaded way more even than before. I now got about 1000 PPFD at the canopy top and around 800-900 PPFD square. They are running at about 80 % atm. Each side is seperately dimmable and i can set the ankle relatively individually for each plant so i can better react to the different grow heights, which comes automatically with 4 different strains.
I lowered the EC to 2.4 and i seperated the two big plants and the two smaller plants systems.
I simply closed the tap on the right side of the reservoir, so the two big ones can get nutrients while the other two gets water only now.
What a giant. I´m so excited for her dry weight, but im relatively sure, that she is the #1 yielder of all plants i´ve ever grown.
After the first couple of testsmokes i can say i like her.
The taste is not fully developed, but its on the smooth sweet side.
The high is quite strong but not overwhelming or too fatigue.
What can i say, just look at the pics. She performed like a dream. Nice, nice, nice 😍
It took me 8 hours to trim her and drying is a little bit complicated for me.
@High_And_Hydro, hey i don‘t mean to critique and i like your thinking, but there is unfortunatetaly no evidence to support that in fact, it shows that it does more harm than good. The amount of litght they resive isn‘t even sufficient enough and the planst like absolute darkness because photoperiods are very sensitive to light pollution and regulate things during the night. You might have seen people do this with Autoflowers but i really wouldn‘t resommend with photoperiods! They could transitions back to Vedge or worse become hermaphrodit. I‘m sorry im stressing this bro!😭
@SimpleGrow, Hi, yes, they are on. I want to test, if it extends the flowering phase to get bigger plants and more yield. Some ppl leave their lights 24h on, so it should not be a problem, but we will see 😅
https://www.mdpi.com/2073-4395/12/5/1242
@SimpleGrow, Hi, die Studien der mdpi habe ich gelesen. Wo hast du denn so genaue Zahlen der Inhaltstoffe her?
Also i calculated your npk and I came out with 240mg/L Nitrogen, 162mg/L phosphorous and 456mg/L potassium wich is huuuge!! You might have had simptoms of potassium excess wich Blocks the absorption of other elements such as calcium, magnesium, zinc and iron.
The ideal amount recomendet for Hydroponics is 194mg/L N, 59mg/L P and only 175-200mg/L K in flower. (You can google alot of diferrent studies showing this is ideal)
The most amount of K comes from the 4ml Canna Aqua Vega wich i‘m going to assume weights about 1kg (part A and B). Ur using 4ml of 8% of the potassiumconcentracion wich is 80 grams times 0,004 (4ml of the 1000ml). thats 0,360 grams or 360mg potassium.
I would recomend to use only half of the pk solution and to get rid of the Canna Aqua Vega and get a second source of Nitrogen. Because its a ratio of 240mg N + 80 mg P + 360 mg K in your solution. Adding the PK and Rhizotonic, which also has NPK (minimal but still there) it‘s just a little to much K. Cannazym has pk too, wich I didn‘t even see.
The second option would be to use about 3ml/L Vega aqua and not use any PK. This would bring down your K to about 252mg/L K with the Rhizotonic.
If your going to use Aqua Flores you are going to have an npk of 4-4-11 wich further lowers your nitrogen and hightens your potassium. Contrary to popular believe, cannabis needs more nitrogen during the stretching phase in flower than people assume. So to keep up with nitrogen you would have to feed alot more potassium than is good. If you cut nitrogen down too much you will have problems with the metabolism so it’s best to keep it above 160mg/L N. That would mean you would have to use again 4 ml (40g of N in solution *4ml =160mg) wich would also contain 440 mg of potassium!
I would get a nitrogen fertelizer and cut down on potassium as much as possible.
I‘m a little Math nerd so i though it might help. 🙏🙏
Sorry hätts auch auf deutsch schreiben können 🤣
