Week 2: The first true leaves Hello dear growers and growerettes, I am back with an update on my grow, where I am growing four different strains from Zamnesia: Gorilla Zkittlez, Gigglez, Bruce Banner and Blueberry . The second week was very exciting, as all my plants developed their first true leaves. These are the leaves that have the characteristic shape and serration of cannabis. They are also the ones that produce the cannabinoids and terpenes that we love so much. The first ones to show their true leaves were Bruce Banner and Gorilla Zkittlez, who are both very vigorous and healthy. Blueberry and Gigglez were a bit slower, as their leaves were still a bit crumpled. But they are still healthy and have no signs of deficiency. I water them every three days with pH-regulated water, to keep the soil moist but not too wet and to follow the wet-dry cycle. The humidity and temperature are the same as last week. This week, I started to measure the PPFD value, which stands for photosynthetic photon flux density. This is a measure of how much light energy is available for the plants to use for photosynthesis. It is expressed in micromoles of photons per square meter per second (µmols/m²/s). Studies have shown that 300 µmols/m²/s is an optimal average value for young plants. I adjusted the height of my lamp so that the PPFD value is around 300 µmols/m²/s, to provide the best possible environment for my plants. Here are the sizes of my plants after two weeks: Bruce Banner: 12 cm Gigglez: 10 cm Gorilla Zkittlez: 12 cm Blueberry: 10 cm I am looking forward to the next week, where I hope to see some more growth and maybe some pre-flowers. I wonder who will be the first to show their sex. Will it be Bruce, the hulk of the group? Or will it be Gigglez, the joker of the group? Or will it be Gorilla, the king of the jungle? Or will it be Blueberry, the sweetest of the bunch? Stay tuned to find out! Thank you for your attention, and see you in the next update! Cheers, Keta Pan

Week 3: Low stress training and transplanting Hello dear growers and growerettes, I am back with another update on my grow, where I am growing four different strains from Zamnesia: Gorilla Zkittlez, Gigglez, Bruce Banner and blueberry. The third week was very productive, as I decided to apply some low stress training (LST) to my plants. LST is a technique that involves bending and tying down the branches and stems of your plants, to create a more even and flat canopy. This way, more light can reach the lower buds, and the plants can produce more flowers and higher yields. To perform LST, I used some plant wire, which is a flexible and soft wire that can be easily wrapped around the branches and stems without damaging them. I gently bent the main stem of each plant to the side, and secured it to the edge of the pot with the wire. Then, I did the same with the side branches, bending them in the opposite direction of the main stem. This created a more horizontal shape for each plant, and exposed more bud sites to the light. LST is a great way to break the apical dominance of your plants, which is the tendency of cannabis to grow one large main cola and smaller side buds. By bending and tying down the branches, you can trick your plants into thinking that they have multiple main colas, and encourage them to grow bigger and more uniform buds. Here are the sizes of my plants after three weeks and after applying LST: Gorilla Zkittlez: 20 cm Gigglez: 18 cm Bruce Banner: 18 cm Blueberry: 15 cm This week, I also transplanted my plants into bigger pots, to give them more room to grow and develop their roots. I used 13x13x13 cm pots, which are temporary pots for my photoperiod plants, as they will need even bigger pots for their final stage. I filled the pots with BioBizz Allmix, which is a rich and organic soil for the vegetative stage. I increased the amount of water I give to my plants, to match the size of the pots. I water them every three days with pH-regulated water, and I make sure that the amount of water is 1/5 of the volume of the pot. This way, I avoid overwatering or underwatering my plants, and I keep the soil moist but not too wet. I also continue to feed my plants with some organic nutrients from BioBizz, such as Acti Vera, Fish Mix, Bio Heaven and pH Down. These products help to improve the health, growth and yield of my plants, by providing them with essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes. The temperature and humidity are the same as last week, at 23°C and 55% respectively. I keep the light at a distance of 35 cm from the canopy, and I measure the PPFD value to make sure it is around 300 µmols/m²/s. I am looking forward to the next week, where I expect to see some more growth and maybe some signs of flowering. I can already smell the sweet and fruity aromas of my plants, and I can’t wait to taste them! Thank you for your attention, and see you in the next update! Cheers, Keta Pan

Week 4: Topping and LST Hello dear growers and growerettes, I am back with another update on my grow, where I am growing four different strains from Zamnesia: Gorilla Zkittlez, Gigglez, Bruce Banner and Blueberry. The fourth week was very busy, as I decided to top my plants and continue with low stress training (LST). Topping is a technique that involves cutting off the top part of the main stem of your plants, to create two new main stems. This way, you can increase the number of colas and the yield of your plants. To top my plants, I used a clean and sharp pair of scissors, and I cut off the top part of the main stem, just above the node where two side branches emerge. This node is called the apical meristem, and it is responsible for the vertical growth of the plant. By cutting it off, I stimulated the growth of the two side branches below it, which became the new main stems. Topping is a great way to create a more bushy and productive plant, as it allows more light and air to reach the lower parts of the plant. It also reduces the height of the plant, which is useful if you have limited space or want to avoid detection. I also continued with LST, which is a technique that involves bending and tying down the branches and stems of your plants, to create a more even and flat canopy. I used some plant wire, which is a flexible and soft wire that can be easily wrapped around the branches and stems without damaging them. I gently bent the branches and stems to the side, and secured them to the edge of the pot with the wire. LST is a great way to optimize the use of light and space, as it exposes more bud sites to the light and creates a more uniform canopy. It also improves the airflow and reduces the risk of mold and pests. My plants are developing very well, except for the branches next to the topped site, which seem to not grow as much as the others. Maybe someone has a tip on how to fix this? I water them every three days with pH-regulated water, and I keep the humidity and temperature at the same level as last week. Since the plants are growing horizontally, I don’t need to change the distance to the lamp. The side branches are growing nicely and seem to be on their way to become juicy top buds. Here are the sizes of my plants after four weeks: Gorilla Zkittlez: 20 cm Gigglez: 16 cm Bruce Banner: 20 cm Blueberry: 18 cm This week, I noticed a slight smell coming from my plants, which is a sign that they are getting ready to flower. I can’t wait to see the buds forming and the trichomes sparkling! Thank you for your attention, and see you in the next update! Cheers, Keta Pan.
