I originally planted 6 seeds, 4 x Shawty R1 and 2 x Sour Lime Haze. 1 of each of the strains got buried too deep (whoops) so I dropped in a pair of freebies I got from Ethos/North Atlantic Seed Co. thus was born this pair of Lemon Cherry Gelato x Grandpas Cookies. wish me luck
Transplanting the larger seedling tomorrow. She is poking out the bottom of the solo cup. idk what’s up w the little one. Late to sprout, slow growing… time will tell what the future holds for her.
these were freebies so I can’t complain.
Transplant went great for the runt. Both plants are loving their Happy Frog Soil. I watered in with just microbials and microbial food with just a splash of silica. they seem super happy so I am going to ease them into nutes very slowly. I may just wait until they ask for it idk.
got some spots on the taller one, I think it’s bc I let it get a little cool and dry, and the leaf wrinkled a bit. the wrinkled part couldn’t handle the 480w led in my 4x4 and it bleached it a bit, but it could be a lot of things. everything else looks okay, some purple/red staining the main stem though. it definitely needs a repot, and was recently topped. also idk anything about this strain as it’s a freebie tester
These girls are growing like palm trees. one giant main stalk, with very little branching and barely any leaves. I did have them in pretty small pots for a while, but the root structure was very healthy not rootbound when I transplanted into 3 gallon pots.
The structure on these plants is awesome. Great genetics. I barely have had to defoliate at all. All my other plants are shooting leaves and branches everywhere but these plants just do exactly what I would have done with them. I just flipped to flower a few days ago.
My larger plant went hermie. It was a beautiful plant showing no signs of stress. Hopefully the other smaller one in my 3x3 won’t herm as well. I probably won’t be running this strain again though.
2 for 2 true monoecious hermaphrodites. Very disappointing. I don’t recommend running this strain. It was actually Grandpa’s Cookies x Lemon Cherry Gelato not Grandpas stash. Anyways, they were happy healthy plants when they started popping male flowers, separate from the female flowers. These were not nanners but straight flowers.
Sad week for this grow. I had an entire 3x3 tent with exhaust, circulation fan, heater, light and humidifier running for months just to end up with nothing. I am probably not going to run anymore F1 hybrids. I’m sticking to known stable strains. These were freebies so I can’t really complain, but I will anyways. The amount of money breeders make off of seeds, it’s pathetic that they are handing out unstable crap.
@eldorado1977 I got the Oil Storm Testers ( Slurricane #7 x Grease Monkey ). I strictly grow outdoors, so I have to wait for the warmer weather. The women that own NASC are behind Dirty Bird Genetics.
@GrandDaddyByrd, it’s getting some good roots now. I’m transplanting it later tonight. I think I was just biased bc the other 2 strains I’m growing are so damned big/fast. I grew another runt on my last batch. I had to chop it almost a month early because it was dying, but it cured up great and people are really enjoying bc of the energetic high.
