These poor plants had a rough start to life - I tried wrapping the entire Aerogarden in plastic wrap instead of using humidity domes, and I think the VPD was too low for too long and the temp crept up too high as well. This resulted in the first two sets of leaves being pretty burned. The good news is these are photos so I'm hoping that if I let them veg for a while they will get healthy again and hopefully it won't effect flowering results.
I moved them to the main setup and they seem to be doing better. They've grown a couple new sets of leaves which look better and the stems are strengthening up.
Nutrients are still a little stronger than I'd like at this stage and the humidity is lower than ideal both due to the Blackberry Moonrocks in late flowering on the top shelf. Once those finish up I should be able to taylor the environment better to these plants.
These plants were slow to veg and a didn't look super robust, but as soon as I flipped them they took off and look much better.
The leaves are starting to get frosty and smell really nice.
These are starting to smell really nice and build up a lot sparkles on the leaves and buds.
Unfortunately I'm running into what I think it thrip damage - it started on the lower leaves and is moving upwards. Ordering some sticky fly traps and debating trying to spray some insecticidal soap on the lower branches but want to avoid that in flower if at all possible.
Not sure how long to harvest, but trichomes are all clear so far. Hoping they bulk up a little more before they're ready.
The left plant seems to be the hero of the bunch - the right two have stayed relatively short while the left one has stretched up to the light.
Plants have started to bulk up and trichomes on the sugar leaves are starting to go amber.
There are still a lot of clear trichs on the buds, so I'm thinking these have at least another week left but will need to check every couple of days.
The main colas haven't bulked as much as I was expecting, but the lower nugs have really started to fatten up and look a lot less larfy than previous grows. This should be good for hash production, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much yet.
Smell is heavenly - sweet as can be with an organic funk overtone.
These had me worried in veg but hit their stride in flower. Lots of frosty buds and good inter-nodal spacing for mold resistance.
Great funky/sweet smell while growing.
Some pheno variation - one plant grew ~1 foot taller than the others despite identical lighting/nutes/pot size etc.
Good harvest overall! Most of it got rough-trimmed, bucked and put straight into the freezer to make hash. I dried and cured the biggest/frostiest colas.
I don't have good weights because of freezing, but I filled 4x 1 gallon bags in the freezer for hash, plus 2 big jars of dried flower.
When trimming, I found one random cola with bud rot, but everything else looked nice and clean. The buds all looked nice and frosty and smelled great.
