Some Plants flower earlier than others. One way you can control this to an extent is by pot size and shape. Once the roots hit what it deems the end, the plant will then go into flowering and use resources elsewhere. Once plants go into flower, cut back on Nitrogen, and increase on P and K. Hope your plant turns out great. It will stretch quite a bit.
