Consider this a gorilla grow 5 x 5 tent stress test LMAO. Ive grown 7 plants under this light in that space before with some DIY diamond mylar and decided to take on a challenge and see if i can manage my own little JUNGLE with a proper grow tent. Its gonna be really TIGHT but also a FUN ride. I had 3 or 4 amazing monster grows using 12L and 18L plastic pots the last couple of years up till now (god i miss dinafem's XXL auto strains), one okay grow using fabric pots and i finally decided to pull the trigger on air pots. Couldnt find a lot of comparison grows so i decided to test some things out using some of the same strains since i went with so many plants. What we are comparing: - Airpots vs plastic pots (the double strains). - Allmix/lightmix/cocomix grow medium vs cocomix/lightmix grow medium (ive had issues with nutrient burn in the past and was curious how my feeding schedule varies across different mediums. The point is giving up on the all mix alltogether if results are similar). All airpots are 19L. For comparison purposes filled some pots with roughly 25% All-Mix/25% Coco-mix at the bottom, and then added 25% light-mix/25% coco-mix while the others are either 75% coco mix/25% light mix or the opposite 25% coco/75% light mix. The 2 brown plastic pots are 12 L and the grey one is 18 L. THIS GUN BE FUN. For ventilation I decided inline fans were too expensive to go with my INLINE Phresh Filter PRO. After all that investment to go from DIY to proper equipment, i wasnt gonna pay 200$+ for an ac infinity that has an average consumption of 135w so i coupled a 10'' VEVOR Industrial Ventilation Extractor to it which only costs 45$ (975 CFM, 60 Dba, 74.5W) and another one for intake. Only downside is its a bit noisier compared to 48dba on the ACinf, but i set my GGT55 up in a 5.5 x 5.5 isolated room so the noise difference doesnt justify the extra cost to me and it works wonders. Unfortunately decided to start this diary at the end of week 2 of first sprout, but u havnt missed much since some of them are still at day 10. Im still figuring out these amazing lights and i tested 50% intensity at 60cm height but it was too close too soon for the seedlings and got some light burn spots on the second or third set of leaves. Caught on quickly and reduced it to 25% at a height of ~75cm. Will try 50% at week 3 again. Another challenge was having so many seedlings starting in their final big pots and not enough heat/air circulation for them to dry out fast enough, they were still dripping in water after 7-10 days and started to notice slight stagnating water symptoms on a couple of leaves while i was still waiting to water with root juice before it was too late, so i needed to add 2 oscillating fans to help with initial drying. Strategically running two 15w fans, one oscillating 20w fan and one 40w standing fan (will get rid of that last one when things become too crowded and plants start swallowing up all the water quickly). Did their job in around 2 days and finally watered each with 1l of water and 4 ml of root juice. As soon as that dried out, fed them their first nutes during week 2. 2 ml/L fish mix, 2ml/L acti vera and 4 ml/root juice. (I gave up on Bioheaven for good. Too expensive for what it does...or doesn't do). They recovered pretty nicely and are currently at the state u can see in the pictures. Observing them closely for N toxicity as this is the first time i go 2ml on week 2 instead of the usual 1ml. The only notable thing is that the northern lights XXL is not looking too well. Its smaller than the others because the first seed was bad and it rotted during paper tower germination alongside the others, had to try another one so its a bit behind its siblings. Its a bit drippy and im really hoping its because of the conditions i mentioned earlier and not a bad batch/seed bank problem. First strain i try from 00seeds and its the only bank where i found an XXL version of NL. Can u guess which one it is from a quick glance at the photo? Spraying leaves with leaf coat once per week. First time trying this product, had spider mites during my last grow on one plant and trying to take precautions to prevent that. Ignore the dosage. Its non diluted in a spray bottle as per Biobizz indications. P.S: please note the Hawaii Maui Waui is also an AUTO. Hard to find these nowadays.
