I took a break for a while but I am back at diaries and just got a new grow light that I am super exited to see how it performs. There will be a few strains in the tent but I will be focusing on the QC blue for this diary.
I was having some issues with older seeds germinating poorly, will have new seeds for the next crop. The QC blue germinated normally but you can see some of the other seeds started off pretty wonky. Two of the seeds have recovered but one is still very odd looking. Not exactly sure what happened here but well see how they look in a few days here. They have started growing quite well.
Still having some issues getting the leaves as green as usual. I'm not sure yet if the light is too close or if I have a nutrient issue. I'm having a hard time telling if its light burn or a calcium def.
Ok so near the end of this week I moved the light up about a foot and noticed an instant improvement. I think my ph might have been a little low but mostly I think the issue was just the light was too close! I kept reading that LED lights can be 12-16" no problem and a couple of my grow buddies said the same but after moving the light to about 28" I have noticed a huge improvement!! Well I'm glad thats all it was. Easy fix and now they are loving it. After I took the pics for my diaries I ended up deciding to transplant the last two ladies and top the three other plants. The two runts grew kind of messed up but they kind of topped themselves and now are growing great lol
What a week!! I am going to do some tie downs and put up the net today or tomorrow. I also flipped it to 12-12 today. Flower time! Ok so I had the lights way to close. I raised it up at least another 12" and also turned it down to 65%. Everyday I raised it a little more and kept seeing an improvement. I only saw signs of light burn not heat burn. I guess this light has some power! My smart plug says it's running at 660w now. Can't wait to see the flowers in about a month!!! Let's
Yesssss there we go, that's what I like to see!!! They are very healthy and thriving now that I got the light figured out a bit better. I will start turning up the power next week, right now it's at 65%. Started giving flower nutrients. Will remove the driver from the tent in a couple weeks. Overall I'm very happy with the tent situation right now. Cool to see how the plants recover from topping and training!!!
It's always a good thing when there is nothing really to report. It's been smooth sailing this week! They are growing so fast and healthy!!! The light is still only at 660w of the 880w available. I can't wait to see some flowers start forming!! Should be this week. My previous tent record is 782g I believe and I would like to shatter that this harvest with this new light!!
Still smooth sailing! 😎 they look so good!!! One lady sure stretched up alot compared to the others but they look amazing!!! The Quebec blue is crushing it and will surely be putting out some good flowers!! I will be turning up the light now 5% a day and should be at 100% around the start of week 5. I am so happy currently and hope the flowers do this crop justice.
Another week without any big issues! I am still figuring out this light though, I started lowering it now and it is at 100%. I am surprised how little heat it is putting off. I haven't had to remote mount the driver.
A couple of the plants aren't plumping up as expected and I am not sure the issue yet. The only two things I can think of are the co2 or bulking powder. The co2 is just yeast and sugar in a pop bottle hanging. The bulking powder I am using as directed but my gut says the plants aren't liking it. I sure hope it didn't hermie. I removed the co2 and stopped using the bulking powder. Hope to see some improvement.
That new light is going to help you out a lot, so much juice coming outta that thing lol your temps should be a lot lower than that HPS bulb you had before. Good luck to you, I subbed to your channel when I started growing, nice to see you around
