My meph seed pack had 4 seeds instead of 3. Got lucky I guess. I used the paper towel method to germinate but after 24 hours the shells had barely cracked. But all 4 did crack, I could see the root. I setup 4, 5 gal fabric pots. 2 with a mix of ocean forest and happy frog. 1 with all ocean forest and 1 with all happy frog. Placed them in the tent and turned on the Vivosun autoflower recipe for seedling.
My avg temp is between : 22-24
Humidity: 77-83
Per the VPD chart I’m good for early vegetation.
Just adding a bit of water around the edges of the pot, not directly on the plant. I think the high humidity plus fan running in a 30 min on and 30 min off cycle provides enough water for now. They all are growing great I think given this is my first time growing lol. I noticed one of the plant is very small, rest have good growth. That pot was one of the full ocean forest. Guessing it’s too hot for the seed but it’s slowly making it through.
First day of week 2 and it’s looking good!. Couldn’t be more excited. The seedling in full OF soil recovered and is catching up to it’s peers. I have been controlling humidity with a humidifier inside my tent but I have noticed white spots on the walls. Researching I found hard water can cause my carbon filter to clog so I stopped keeping my humidifier on 24/7. Just randomly through out the day I’ll turn it on and off. Humidity doesn’t go above 80 or below 50. I know crazy range but I try to make it a gradual change instead of instant.
Other than that, I’m thinking I’ll start on the fox farm nut schedule today. 1/4th the recommended dosage.
Week 3, plants are doing great. Staying within the VPD range. Increased the light output to 80%. The leaves of two plants were touching soil so I put toothpicks under them to lift them.
Week 4, first day and the growth spurt is amazing. Did some minor lst for two plants. I think I did it correctly, still learning. Did some leaf tucking as well. I’ve been watering with nutes, fox farm trio per their soil feeding schedule. I give 2L of water with half the recommended dosage plus cal mag per pot. I’m still not getting the handle of knowing then to water and when not to so I got the ac infinity self watering trays coming in tomorrow. Hope that takes care of that.
