Auto Sasha's Legacy (Low Rider #2 male X Purple Rider female)
Germination of 39 regular seeds from the cross of Purple Rider x Low Rider #2. The cross was made around 2007 or 2008 and since then it has been improved in search of precocity and size. It has two very different phenotypes in terms of appearance, one that resembles the low rider, smaller and with more robust flowers and dark green leaves, the other phenotype however is larger, with light green leaves that turn a reddish purple tone. The smell, taste and effects however are identical.
Of the 39 seeds placed to germinate, 38 opened and 36 went into the pot. The goal is to have 16 plants flowering in 7-liter pots.
I separated the earliest one in an attempt to hermaphrodite one of them, I used 300ppm colloidal silver for about 30 days after identifying the plant as female, twice a day. It didn't work, it didn't produce a single male flower. If anyone can help me with tips on how to hermaphrodize I would be grateful. I've been struggling with this for a while.
My lighting setup was a Quantum Board Samsung Lm301h 120w LED panel plus a Quantum Bar - X55 - 240w - Samsung LM281B.
The soil is a combination of reused soil, topsoil, organic compost made by myself, Bokashi, ash, limestone, vermiculite, coconut chips, and coconut fibers.
No fertilizers during germination.
Of the 36 germinated, 4 were attacked by a species of microscopic ant that feeds on the roots and base of the stem. There were 32 left. It happens when you choose 100% organic.
Despite this, most showed good growth and are healthy.
Week to separate the plants for crossing and transplanting.
The first ones separated were the two most precocious, one was sprayed with colloidal silver and the other would receive pollen to generate feminized seeds of this genetics, but as stated in the first week, hermaphrodition did not occur.
In the end I had 14 females that went into long 7 liter pots. This batch had a higher number of male plants than usual. normally I have an index of 70% female and 30% male, in this case I had an index of around 60% male and 40% female, which left me with two plants missing to complete this batch.
No fertilization during transplant week.
Week of first flowering fertilization.
Fertilization, although light, had a wide range of nutrients and the introduction of fertilizers for flowering specifically.
The fertilization was a success and by the end of the week they had grown a lot.
At the end of the week it was also necessary to carry out the first defoliation so that light could reach the lower branches and to improve air circulation.
The plants continue to grow, but at a slower pace, with considerable fattening of the flowers. The number of leaves has also grown a lot and new defoliation will be necessary soon.
Fertilization already aimed at flowering, just biogrow to help with growth from now on.
The growth and fattening of the flowers continues at a good pace, now it is quite possible to see the two different phenotypes. The first signs of purple began to appear at the tips of the leaves.
The end approaches, the hair begins to darken and purple is increasingly prominent. The fattening of the flowers was also significant, next week the fertilization will be focused on resin and final production.
Last week of fertilization, focused entirely on resin production and fattening. Next week the washing will begin.
They are all very fat and the smell is strong, a note of pine and a sweet smell of fruit already fill the air.
Root washing week. Two washes will be carried out before harvesting, with plenty of water.
The smell is very strong and very pleasant. Temperatures were reduced to better preserve terpenes.
Last week, another wash with plenty of water, the washes provided considerable final fattening, resin production was also very good. Friday is harvest day.
The Strain was called Sasha's Legacy because its base is doctor's choice genetics from the mid-00s. One of the best decisions we made as growers was to start crossing male Low Rider plants, from the cross with Purple Rider this genetics began. which for about 15 years we have been trying to improve. The smell has a slight touch of pine and a strong fruity aroma, sometimes reminiscent of pineapple, sometimes mango, a slight earthy touch sometimes appears too, it is a delicious herb, the flavor follows the same tone as the aroma, light on pine. and earthy and with a strong presence of sweet fruit. Its effect is relaxing, corporal and good for pain and to help you sleep. Initially a slight euphoria and improvement in mood, which makes it a good strain for watching a movie or chatting and laughing. I also get a very high quality medicinal oil from it, very good for pain and sleep regulation. In the current planting I was lucky enough to naturally produce a hermaphrodite, so if everything goes well, these genetics will soon produce feminized plants.
It is a very good genetic, easy to plant and does not require many resources, but it needs 18 hours of light to develop at its best. I will continue showing its evolution here.
What else to say?
I would just like to thank Sasha and Doctor's choice, my first grow was a Low Rider grow, and since then I have traveled in this world of infinite information and multiple techniques and ways of cultivation, since then I have planted everything, but I have never stopped produce and create auto flowering genetics, and this is entirely due to Sasha's genetics. Who was a pioneer and who made life a little easier at a time when there wasn't as much access to information and material as we have today. As Sasha himself says:
Be a breeder.
Ps: Sorry for the poor quality of the photos, it's my first diary, I promise to fix that in the next one.
Final score. 252 grams dry.
Hey, appreciate your kind words and sharing your journey! 🙏🏽🤩 Absolutely blown away by your fantastic experiment! 😍😍😍 Also, we love the creativity in the name. Thanks a bunch for being such a passionate grower! Just wanted to let you know about our special program called DC Family. It's all about fostering long-term relationships with talented growers like yourself🚀 Through this program, we'd love to share new varieties with you💡Already next month, there will be a new strain in the "Be a Breeder" seed collection, and I'd be thrilled to send it your way for your future experiments. Let's keep the green family growing 🌱🙏🏽 Peace 🏽
P.S. Would be happy to try these buds 😋😋😋
