With my first grow now starting flower, I want to start my next round. This time running Blue Dream auto. Very impressed with how quickly two of the 4 seeds shot out taproots! A good sign. Moved 2 into soil after a few days germinating in water. Plan to do some topping and LST this grow, wish me luck!
The ladies are above soil! WOW I feel like a much faster germination from my first grow. Then again, I think I’ve learned a lot already and have improved my germination game!
2/16 Moved off the heat mat as soon as I saw the babies break soil. I do this so they don’t get leggy. Moved under grow light, still rockin the humidity done for now until I can get my tabletop greenhouse set up.
2/19 Ok moved these out into my mini greenhouse. Flower tent not hospitable for these lil gals!
3/1 Top of the second week of veg to ya!
Realizing I did not pay close enough attention to the ph in the first few weeks of my last grow. Rookie error but learned for this round, ph my water to about 7 for waters now. Runoff coming off in the low 6s, high 5s. Flushed with ph water til getting low 6s ph run off. I see what people mean about fox farms being hot.
Considering adding some garden lime when I pot up this grow. I need some help keeping my ph up. So far so good with this round… clover
Well, bottom line is, I’m having a sophomore slump! 🤣
Fell off the habit of making updates bc I was feeling a little disappointed in myself. But then I realized, I learned lots during this grow too! Why not take it down. And perhaps help another grower.
Ultimately the starting domino was, I started my seeds before I had a solid plan for where they would veg. I over estimated how quickly I could harvest my first grow, and ended up not being able to move these girls into round 2 until way later than I hoped.
So during veg they’ve had:
- not ideal humidity at all!
- old grow light from Amazon (honestly I think this was the biggest stunting factor
What I’m still excited about this grow:
-testing new soils so far I’ve really been impressed. Though stunted in growth the leaves have been seeming very healthy this grow.
- I’ve also got a good system going for watering, way less trouble with the ph this go.
- since this was ending up being more of an experimental round, I decided to lean in to the stress training, just to see what I could learn. I FIM-med one trying to top. The other is straight lst. it’s been interesting to watch them develop.
Anyway, I’m still here! I’ll see these girls through. Never give up!!!!!
Planning my next grow already 🤓 this is fun!
Still trying to let these ladies grow sideways. No clue how yield will be. Really this has become an experimental grow. I have been enjoying the purple cow soil, I feel like so far I really haven’t needed nutrients.
When I added a half strength round of fertilizer last week, they didn’t seem to like that! Might just work with water until she shows me a reason to feed.
She’s small but mighty! Week 12 now, the bud sites are getting nice and plump. Still lots of white stigma, I think we’ve still got time. I do want to invest next in a usb or smartphone paired microscope to be more diligent checking trichomes.
Here we go! Just sort of keeping an eye on the pistils and trichomes. Still need a little time. Won’t be a large harvest but smelling and looking amazing.
5/16. No joke these ladies smell so amazing. Fruity and sweet. Hopefully coming up on harvest shortly.
5/20- harvested one of the gals. So smol! But I love her. She smells like grape jelly. This time I am READY with my dry tent. I think I’ll give the other pot just a few more days…
