First ever grow - Super Silver Haze from Zamnesia Seeds
Germination date – 15.02
– Three seeds have been germinated, but I only have space to flower one plant. The strongest phenotype will be selected once space starts to become limited.
Day 01 – 17.02
– All 3 seeds sprouted. One seed is much more vigorous than the others. Seeds were planted in 0.5L plastic seedling pots in Biobizz Light Mix Soil and given a light water.
22.02 – Day 6
- My thermometer and Hygrometer arrived and told me that the humidity under my humidity dome was too high (ca. 90% RH) when I was misting inside it. Without misting the humidity inside the dome stabilised @60% RH.
- Temperature: 25C
- Watering with plain water.
23.02 – Day 7
- I started feeding with a diluted amount of nutrients (50% of recommended). Biobizz Fish-Mix - 1ml/L @ PH 6.5
- Seedlings are still under the humidity dome @ 60% RH
26.02 - Day 12
- On two plants, the roots were beginning to grow through the bottoms of the pots so I transplanted them into 3.8L fabric pots and watered with plain water @ 6.3PH
- The humidity dome was also removed.
29.02 - Day 15
- The plant still in the small pot was showing roots through the bottom, so it was transplanted into a 3.8L pot like the others and watered with plain water @ 6.3PH.
29.02 - Day 15
- Plant 02 was transplanted into 3.8L fabric pot and watered with plain water @ 6.3PH. This plant is still growing much slower than the others.
01.03 - Day 16
- Plant 01 got FIMed after node 03
- Exhaust fan added to grow space. Temperature control set at 25C
05.03 - Day 19
- Plant 01 showed signs that my attempt to FIM the plant failed. The main stem has continued to grow, but side branching on lower nodes has increased. I will top this plant once the main stem has grown a bit more.
- Plant 03 got topped after node 03.
- All plants got watered with 2 ml/L Fish Mix + 1 ml/L Silica Force @ 6.2PH
- Circulation fan added to grow space
07.03 - Day 21
- Plant 01 got topped at node 03 because my attempt to FIM on day 16 failed.
09.03 - Day 23
- Plant 01 and Plant 03 get LST on side branches
11.03 - Day 25
- The top fan leaves were huge and blocking light from reaching the rest of the plant, so they were removed.
13.03 - Day 27
- Temperature was adjusted to 26C @ 70% humidity for optimum VPD.
- Plant 01 has the most branches and shortest internode distance, so I chose this plant to transplant into the final 20L fabric pot and watered with 2ml/L Fish Mix and 1ml/L Silica Force. The other 2 plants will not be flipped to flower.
- After giving Plant 01 time to adjust to transplant and further train, I will flip to flower in circa 1 week.
16.03 - Day 30
- Watered with 1L of water with 2ml/L Fish Mix + 1ml/L Silica Force
18.03 - Day 32
- Watered with 1L of water with 2ml/L Fish Mix + 1ml/L Silica Force
- Light is 36cm from top of plant and at 80% power
- Temperature increased to 26-27C
- Added SCROG net to grow space, 20cm from top of soil
20.03 - Day 34
- Watered with 1.5L of water with 2ml/L Fish Mix + 1ml/L Silica Force
- Will flip light schedule to 12/12 and begin flowering tomorrow.
22.03 - Day 36
- Watered with 3L of plain water @6.2PH
- Flipped light schedule to 12:12 to induce flowering
26.03 - Day 40
- Watered with 3L of nutrients @PH6.1
28.03 - Day 42
- Watered with 1.5L of nutrients @PH6.2
The SCROG net is now as full as I am comfortable for this grow. The stretch in the first weeks of flower is real, and this plant has very short internode spacing. It is a constant struggle to make sure all tops and nodes are getting as much light as possible while keeping the canopy even, and I am doing some light defoliation approximately every 2 days. On the two main tops I did even more LST training to pull them down flat and promote last minute side branching.
01.04 - Day 46
- Watered with 4L of nutrients @6.2PH
04.04 - Day 46
- Watered with 1.5L of nutrients @6.2PH
Week 2 of flower is over and around 50% of tops have grown through the screen and are growing straight up towards the light. This plant received a lot of LST to keep the canopy even and I hope I will be rewarded with many great tops. As soon as it stops stretching and starts putting on buds, I'll do a major defoliation. Until then, removing leaves only where necessary - ex. large fan leaves covering multiple tops, many leaves densely touching each other, etc.
05.04 - Day 50 (15 Flower)
- Supercropped tallest branches to try and hold their height back and let others catch up.
06.04 - Day 51 (16 Flower)
- Watered with 1.5L of nutrients @ 6.2PH
08.04 - Day 53 (18 Flower)
- Watered with 1.5L of nutrients @ 6.2PH
- Tops are 25cm from light
- Natural stretching of the plant is opening up the canopy and letting light down to lower buds
- Buds are clearly defined, with lots of white pistils on tops and bud sites.
09.04 - Day 54 (19 Flower)
- Watered with 2L of nutrients @ 6.2PH
- Stretch phase is definitely slowing down
11.04 - Day 56 (21 Flower)
- Watered with 1.5L of nutrients @ 6.2PH
- Stretch phase has more or less ended. Did a major defoliation of nearly all fan leaves except for ones on the very outside of the canopy.
- Lots of light and air in the canopy and TONS of tops and bud sites now receiving direct light.
12.04 - Day 50 (15 Flower)
- Watered with 2.0L of nutrients @ 6.2PH
14.04 - Day 51 (16 Flower)
- Watered with 1.5L of nutrients @ 6.2PH
16.04 - Day 51 (16 Flower)
- Watered with 3.0L of nutrients @ 6.2PH
- Pulled the tallest colas on edges of the tent towards the sides to open up more airflow in the middle of the canopy.
Buds seem to have doubled in size since last week. They seem to have no problem with full-strength nutrients.
Life got in the way and I unfortunately failed to keep notes for this week's diary.
My leaves are quite a dark green so I will not be increasing the amount of Bio-Grow as instructed in the Bio-Bizz nutrient schedule to try and limit nitrogen in my nutrients. If I see signs of N deficiency I will increase it. Otherwise, just watering with nutrients approximately 1.5L per day - no touching the plants, just letting the buds swell and do their thing.
26.04 - Day 71 (36 Flower)
- Watered with 3.0L of nutrients @ 6.5PH
27.04 - Day 72 (37 Flower)
- Watered with 3.0L of nutrients @ 6.5PH
28.04 - Day 73 (38 Flower)
- Watered with 1.5L of nutrients @ 6.5PH
29.04 - Day 74 (39 Flower)
- No watering today
- Organized canopy a bit more to improve airflow again. Buds have really swelled and are taking up a lot of space.
- Biggest top bud is ca. 4x3cm
30.04 - Day 75 (40 Flower)
- Watered with 1.5L of nutrients @ 6.5PH
03.05 - Day 78 (43 Flower)
- Watered with 2.0L of nutrients @ 6.5PH
04.05 - Day 79 (44 Flower)
- Watered with 1.5L of nutrients @ 6.5PH
06.05 - Day 81 (81 Flower)
- Watered with 3.0L of nutrients @ 6.5PH
08.05 - Day 83 (48 Flower)
- Watered with 2.0L of nutrients @ 6.5PH
09.05 - Day 84 (49 Flower)
- Watered with 1.5L of nutrients @ 6.3PH
10.05 - Day 85 (50 Flower)
- Watered with 1.5L of nutrients @ 6.3PH
11.05 - Day 86 (51 Flower)
- Watered with 3.0L of nutrients @ 6.3PH
13.05 - Day 88 (53 Flower)
- Watered with 2.0L of nutrients @ 6.3PH
- *Bottom watering
14.05 - Day 89 (54 Flower)
- Watered with 1.5L of nutrients @ 6.3PH
15.05 - Day 90 (55 Flower)
- Watered with 2.0L of nutrients @ 6.3PH
Buds are really fat and heavy at this point. Trichomes are about 70% clear, 30% milky and about 50% of pistils are orange. Plant is showing slight signs of foxtailing so I will decrease nitrogen in the next week. No real signs of senescence at this point.
