KariPitaya 03/03/2024 (Day 14) Difficult week. Really strong winds up to 40 km/h. Sunny days, clouded days. That's March every year. Spring is almost here.

KariPitaya 03/12/2024 The ones that are growing outside the covered garden are getting big and healthy. The last two right now don’t get as much sun as I would like, and the dill and carrots next to them got powdery mildew, didn’t affect the leaves but feel like the fungicide kinda slowed the grow.

KariPitaya 03/19/2024 The weather has been so bad, very very irregular, one day cold, another day hot, another day with rain, cloudy, another with sun but windy as hell. My 3 favorites, the ones in direct sun still growing healthy. The 2 in the shade are small but resisting.

KariPitaya 03 / 26 / 2024 Everything in the garden is starting to grow faster. I put up shade cloth and some local worm tea because the weather is still terrible. Lots of gusts of wind, and very little stability in temperatures.

KariPitaya 04 / 02 / 2024 Cut the top of the 2 healthier plants. I'm starting to think I planted them too close to each other. -------------------------------- 02 / 04 /2024 Realicé corte apical en 2 de las 3 plantas mas saludables y dejé una sin corte para analizar las diferencias de produccion ya que crescan. Tambien empiezo a sentir que sembre las plantas una muy cerca de la otra, pero veremos ya que agarren mas altura.

KariPitaya 04-10-2024 ----------------------------------- 10-04-2024 All of them are growing healthy now. Plant 1, which doesn’t have an apical cut, is the biggest so far. Plants 2 and 3 with apical cuts are already branching out and looking healthy. Plant 4, which had what looked like powdery mildew, has recovered and is starting to grow. Plant 5, which was getting little sun, is now receiving more hours of light and is starting to grow considerably. There are still no signs indicating the sex of the plant, as the seeds are not feminized. This week I hope to start LST on one of the plants with an apical cut to keep comparing the differences in production and growth with different techniques :)

KariPitaya 04/16/2024 LST on plants 2 and 3 ---------------- 04/16/2024 01. Plant 1 continues to grow healthy, it's the tallest by a very small margin, but it's noticeable that it's the least bushy since it's the only one of the 3 that is healthiest without an apical cut or LST. 02. Conservative LST (On 2 to 3 branches) 03. LST on all branches 04. Growing healthy and free of infections. No smell. 05. Gaining height and with healthy leaves. No smell.

KariPitaya 04-23-2024 -------- 04-23-2024 -Plant 1: Still lush and already with a noticeable smell. -Plant 2: With moderate defoliation without a second apical cut. -Plant 3: Second apical cut to see if it keeps branching. -Plant 4: Growing but with small marks on the leaves, I found some tiny bugs, I will apply natural repellent in the afternoon and a little worm leachate to strengthen. -Plant 5: Small compared to the first 3 plants but healthy.

KariPitaya 04/30/2024 Still standing, heat has been hell but growing as expected. -------- 30/04/2024

KariPitaya 05/28/2024 Took a 2 weeks vacation and feared for my plants. Somebody was watering but just that, no defoliation, LST or pest control. But everything looks fine. The smallest plant (#4) had male preflowers so I removed it from the garden. Made an apical cut on plant #5 hoping it gets bigger.

KariPitaya June/10/2024 ----------------------- 10/June/2024 It's really hot, I switched to watering only at night because temperatures rise early in the morning and I want to avoid damaging the roots. The plants seem ready to flower, they're still producing a lot of leaves and look healthy.

KariPitaya June 17/2024 ----------------------- June 10/2021 Temperature increase, we reached some days up to 47 degrees C with many hours of direct sun exposure. The rest of the plants in the garden are suffering, many have dried out, but the Maris are still in very good condition. I estimate they will start to flower this week.
