Golden Pineapple S1 - Hydro

Sorry for the 3 week hiatus! March was a little crazy on my end, I’ll make sure I’m doing weekly updates from here on out! Things are going well for my first DWC grow. I overfilled the bucket a little when I topped up yesterday, so she’s looking a little overwatered today but doing great so far (especially considering we’re only using a 100 watt LED) I topped her last week, and she’s responded fantastically. Going to add a small humidifier to get it a little more humid, but she’s chugging along. Solid week in the little tent. Lots of growth for this girl. Still getting used to DWC, I noticed this morning the reservoir was on the low side, so I’ll take that and the overall rougher look of the plant as a clue to go ahead and change. It’s hard to time these water changes, I switched out a week or so ago and the old nutes did not seem very diluted at all, so I think it could have went a little longer between changes, but this time it’s pretty apparent it’s a need. Something I’m sure I’ll adjust to as I go. Im going to work on LST this week, and will most likely introduce a scrog net by weeks end. Really tight on space in this tent, so I’m debating on whether or not to bother with the 2nd topping. Seems like a net will get us wall to wall pretty easily, but I also want to maximize my yield, so may have to get creative. Overall I’m liking DWC so far. Not having to worry about transplanting has been a huge plus, but I feel like I use the same amount of nutes for 1 plant that covers my other 4 growing in coco, so that’s definitely a downside. Another great week in the little tent. I introduced the net about mid week and it’s really helped spread her out. I raised the net for a few pics (mainly rootball I was concerned with) but it’s been on there since Wednesday and doing great. Looking at the roots, it’s apparent she’s been thirsty! I’d say she’s easily drank 2 gallons since I topped her off over a week ago. Topped up with ph’d water to get her through to next full water change. Despite my thoughts last week, I do think I’m going to go ahead and do a second topping today, I know she’ll hit wall to wall as is, but I just can’t resist. Aiming to maximize the yield and with the small tent and weaker light every little bit helps! Excited to see what growth this week brings. Great week in the 2x2. She responded well to the 2nd topping and mild defoliation. Fairly decent coverage considering the light limitations, so I decided to flip to 12/12 today. Went ahead and switched to transitional nutes during the water change so she’s ready to roll. Excited to see how the stretch goes, last time I grew Golden Pineapple she stretched for almost 5 weeks before settling, so very interested to see how this one does given the light and space limitations. Amazing week in the little tent! She’s responding beautifully to the switch to 12/12, and the stretch is already amazing. At this point, I think I need to start prioritizing training to keep her canopy as low and even as possible, but no doubt she’s going to fill out this tent completely. Another great week in the 2x2. She’s an absolute BUSH! I plan to do a pretty heavy defoliation/lollipop this weekend. I think I’ll introduce a second fan below the canopy to help promote airflow in the meantime. Very happy with this run so far, it’s my first hydro run, and first run in the 2x2 in about 2 years. Hard to believe I fit 3 autos in there at one point! I’ve been incredibly impressed considering the light and space limitations, but she’s doing great! Amazing week in the 2x2, she’s stretched so much she was touching the light this morning! I raised the light about as much as I could, but now she’s kinda out of room for vertical growth. I plan to lollipop her today, and may incorporate some mild LST as well to get us some room up top to finish up. Very surprised by this growth given the fact that’s there’s only a single 100watt LED, but man she just keeps impressing! Very pleased so far with this being my first DWC grow. So things are almost going TOO WELL in the 2x2! Who knew one plant could thrive so much off a single 100 watt light! I have had to rig my fan and light to accommodate a few more inches of growth, and even then I’m struggling to keep the canopy under the light! Numerous mornings I have unzipped the tent to find bud sites touching the light, or just flat out growing past it! I added a few pics for reference. All in all a good problem to have I guess! I am working with some LST clips to try and keep the canopy down as I can. Very excited to see what the next week brings! The 2x2 is going crazy. STILL stretching, and I’m officially out of space. Using LST clips to try and get them away from the light as I’m starting to see some light burn on certain leaves. Really blown away by the size of this one! Excited to see what the next week brings (unless it’s more stretching lol) happy growing!

Every day I’m bending and readjusting these plants to get them away from the light. It’s a losing battle. This plant is an absolute monster for the light it’s using, and thank goodness it’s just a 100 watt LED or they’d be absolutely charred! Buds are fattening up (kinda) and they are definitely plentiful. I feel like there may be a good bit of popcorn just because of the lower light intensity, but at least there will be lots of it! Roughly 4 more weeks to harvest, I have to chop by the 28th out of necessity since I’ll be going out of town. Excited to see what these last few weeks bring (hopefully more bud development that height!)

Still stretching in the 2x2! Thankfully it’s slowed and I only have to do some mild daily bending. There’s definitely spots of light burn here and there, but not much I can do for the time being. I may run an auto in this tent next grow, or possibly just a much shorter veg period. That said, I shouldn’t complain. The nugs may not be the fattest or the prettiest, but they are absolutely everywhere! I’m very excited to see what the final yield is. Not too much longer, I’ll let this go about 3 more weeks then she’s coming down. Excited to see how she finishes up! Happy growing!!
