organic living soil ;
Amended the living soil before planting by adding homemade organic compost , pumice stone & organic coco husk to my living soil from previously and also tiger worms
watering is done using an unglazed terracotta pot/olla buried into the soil
*Olla irrigation works through soil moisture tension, also called suction tension. The tension increases as the soil dries out (i.e. dry soil has a greater capacity to absorb water). When the suction tension in the soil is greater than that of the clay pot, it pulls water from the olla. This technique stops over watering it will only give water when the plant needs which can vary greatly day to day and waters the plant from lower in the ground from the roots up, which is better for them … encouraging root growth and making them more drought-resistant …. Therefore, olla irrigation is extremely water efficient and prevents excessive evaporation and water runoff this is a very old/ traditional method used for watering plants first used over 4000 years ago any plants watered in this way do not undergo stress cycles due to water and can live and produce longer and better. Ollas can be a relatively inexpensive way to maximize your garden output while minimizing overwatering, runoff, and water loss. Terracotta pots/ ollas are also used to filter water
The olla is filled up with natural bottled mineral water

@Psilocubensis, it’s brilliant they are thriving since using this method and so much less stress for both me and the plants due to over/ under watering much more consistent and they seem to love it coming from underground
