WeedleyScott I started with 3 Giffys, each soaked with about 25ml of water, based on the experiences from "Der Hanf lebt" (https://youtu.be/5DZh4_jufUI?si=ZGUSw-ySTwC0Ixpc&t=97). They are now in a mini greenhouse in the grow box under 20-25% light and some airflow. I monitor all temperatures, humidity, and power consumption, as well as the automations via Home Assistant. Update after 8 days: The seedlings have stretched a bit, so I increased the light intensity a bit, which has helped. Currently, the lamp is running at 50% grow.

WeedleyScott After a week, I transplanted the seedlings with Giffy into pots with the 2% Florganics mix. Next time, I would wait a bit longer and give the seedling more time to grow through the Giffy. The plants are now at 50% light, 30cm under the lamp.

WeedleyScott After another week, the plants have received a good growth boost. The leaves also look good. Unfortunately, two of them have a bit of a tilt, so I’ve supported them. I will plant them deeper when I repot. Additionally, I’ve added a humidifier in the tent this week, which helps me control the environment better. Unfortunately, I have a small fly problem, so I’ve used nematodes to reduce the larvae, and I’m also using yellow traps.

WeedleyScott I set the lamp to 80% power and watered at the end of week two; the plants have now made a nice push and have grown well. The leaves are also noticeably more pronounced now. Update Day 5 (Week 3): I prepared the three 10-liter fabric pots for the plants, and I mixed the Living Soil with a 10% blend. The Living Soil needs to stay dark and moist for up to 10 days to distribute well around the pot. Mix: 6L BioBizz Light Mix 3L BioBizz CoCo Mix 1L Florganics A few oats 1.3L water Additionally, I checked the plants and topped them, removed small leaves at the bottom of the stem, and left only the large shoots while watering.

WeedleyScott The week started with dry plants, due to the rising temperatures here in Germany and the fact that I had forgotten to water, the soil was very dry. To improve the situation, I defoliated the plants a bit and watered them well. However, the soil didn't absorb any water. In the evening and the following day, I watered again, after which the soil started to take up more water. Once the plants had recovered, I transplanted them into the 10L Living Soil pots, which had produced a lot of mycelium that I simply mixed in. In the now large pot, I topped the plants again and pulled down the side branches via low Stress to help them build a bit more area.

WeedleyScott The plants are visibly recovering from the stresses of last week and are now showing a healthy color as well as numerous new leaves. I'm currently watering with 1L of water per plant and pushing them outside using Low Stress. When they are on the edge, I let the plants gain height to achieve a nice crown.

WeedleyScott In week 6, I'm letting the plants grow a bit taller and hoping they gain some height by the end of the week. I might defoliate a bit at the beginning of week 7 so that the flowering phase can start without too much foliage. So far, I'm just watering 1L per plant every 2 days and leaving them mostly alone.

WeedleyScott End of the first week of flowering and start of the second, I had a problem with fungus gnats again and have now fought them off with neem oil and covered the first one with sand. This way it doesn't dry out so quickly and the gnats can't lay their eggs in the soil, I hope that helps. The plants have made a powerful push and have grown at least 10 cm, you can already see small signs of hairs. Day 4 of week 8: Today I stretched the net and allowed it to be strong, as well as removed shoots that didn't go through the net or didn't get light. I'm curious how well the others will benefit from this now.

WeedleyScott Week 8 is starting, the lights are set to 100% Grow and 100% Flower, I put a net in and after 1-2 days last week, I cut away everything that was under the net as well as some side branches. This way, each main stem should have a maximum of 4-5 side branches. Additionally, the buds are starting to form and there are noticeable hairs visible. Update: Day 5 of Week 9: The buds are getting bigger and are already resinous on the surrounding leaves 😍

WeedleyScottstarted grow question 2y ago
Does it make sense to remove large leaves in the flowering phase to give the plant the opportunity to send more energy into the flowers or should you leave the larger leaves on because the plant also photosynthesises through them.

tplants cant produce energy if has no leaves ... your plant is nice, would not touch almost anything at the moment, let her go and show all beauty... in few weeks, maybe you can take out few, but not now, wait till colas will start to show and you will see what covers what. you ahve 160 w , it should be enought to penetrate through canopy. let her grow. wish you flowering and nicce harvest !

WeedleyScott Another week of flowering, I basically haven't done anything except water every two days with 1L each time and around the middle of the week I removed a few large leaves that were covering a bit.

WeedleyScott Week 11: I water every other day and don't do much else =), I still have some flies in the tent =/ The trichomes don't look too milky yet, and I don't see any amber at all. I’ll give them about 3-4 more weeks max. According to Sensai Seeds, the strain has a flowering phase of 60-70 days.

WeedleyScott Week 12: They are blooming beautifully, currently I see little change, the leaves have developed some brown tips, possibly due to the fungus gnats, the larvae are attacking the roots. I have already ordered nematodes and will add them to the soil as soon as they arrive. Light Stats: 12h: 82.3 DLI / mol/m^2/d 1,839 PPFD umol/m^2/s 53,000 LUX

WeedleyScott Week 13 and it's growing, some buds have really put on some weight and developed new light green spots. Otherwise, there are no other noticeable issues. According to the plan, there should be 19 days left since the Honey Melon Kush has a flowering period of 60-70 days.

WeedleyScott Today was harvest day, and it totaled 710g (with branches and everything visible in the tent), but it was measured with a suitcase scale that was a bit inaccurate, so I would subtract about 50-100g as a tolerance. Now it's hanging in the tent at 50% humidity until it's dry. Tent: 80x80x120cm Light: 160 watts

That looks really nice already. The way the individual buds are sitting, they could unite into huge flower clusters straight out of a storybook. I'm excited👍
