All set for another shed grow now the temps a dropping. This is another tin shed grow and they certainly have there challenges.
I thought I would waterproof my shed, unfortunately I sealed the outside not realising that run off channels run down the panel, I effectively stopped all drainage and due to a shipload of rain the last few days it's wet inside. Lucky I have my tent raised. A problem that will certainly need to be fixed prior to flowering, for now I'll just make sure I'm wearing my gumboots.
Whoopsy daisy...went a little too heavy on the LST and the main stem effectively snapped off with only a few fibres holding it. Tried to tape but it just couldn't handle the weight so main stem is no more. It will recover I know and will still produce well. I normally start LST early week 2, decided to wait until the end of the week to do. That 1 extra week really made a difference in the thickness of the stem. Oh well a mistake I won't make again. I did this intentionally to a photo many years ago that was getting way too big, and this was probably one of my most successful and pretty grows I've so still confident this plant will flourish.
Plant seemed to recover well after snapping its main stem in half last week when starting LST. Plenty of new bud sites and she's ready to start flowering!!!! It shouldn't have an issue filling out this small tent anyhow. I've grown this strain before so I know what to expect over the next 4 weeks. Last time in soil, this time in coco coir so will be interesting to see how they compare.
Really need to start being a little more careful when bending the stems under the net. At least another 4 casualties this week, add the main stem snapping completely off the previous week means this plant has spent alot of time recovering.
Oh well, she's filling out the tent nicely, not much more to fill before I let it just go up.and up.
Happy with the progress, especially after butchering it week 3 when I snapped thr main stem in 2. Definitely loving its 2 feeds per day about 1 litre each feed. Time to let it stretch as LST is pretty much done and it has a nice even canopy.
She's really progressing nicely and the stretch has commenced. Pretty much having to raise the lights every other day the last week by quite a bit.
With all feeding automated, this really feels like a lazy grow. Basically replace nutrients once per week, raise the lights a few times and that's it now. I just so wish I had've got this system working with previous grows, as it's gone from a lot of work to barely any.
Plant is pretty much just under 50cm tall, but it's width is 70×70cm and the only way to go now.is up, and up and up. As long as it doesn't get any larger than 1 meter then my tiny 160cm tent should just cope. It's a smaller pot than my last grow so just hoping foxtailing doesn't become a problem due to the limited grow space.
Couldnt be happier anyhow and expect massive progress during week 4 of flower.
A couple of days late with this update but better late than never. She's getting way too big but will just let her be. Was tempted to thin her out but fought it. Now I just hope I don't live to regret it if mold becomes an issue layer . Has been a real struggle maintaining temps this week as the nights are getting cold, so temps in the tent have pretty much ranged from 15c to 21c. Oh well nothing I can do about it as it's a tin shed grow, plant seems happy enough as well and should produce well. Just not to sure how the cold temps will impact bud development.
I think most of the stretching is done as only a small increase in height the last 4 days. Nights have really been so cold the last week and I've been struggling keeping the temp above 14 with heaters set to the max. At a minimum the root zone is keeping comfortable as they are above the heating bars. Hoping the cold doesn't impact the bud development too much, only time will tell.
The cold temps have been a real issue this week. To combat the low temps I turned down the exhaust fan to low, now humidity and condensation is my problem so the exhaust fan is back to where it was previously.
Night time temps have been as low as 4c this week, with the heating bars I manage an extra 10c in the tent but too cold. Nothing I can do really. Even though this is an indoor grow, when growing in a tin shed the only protection from the elements is wind and rain, temperature I just work with the best I can. Pretty happy with the plant anyhow, hoping for the buds to fatten up from now and will likely take this one to 10 weeks flowering.
Buds are fattening up nicely, so sticky and have really developed a strong smell in the last week.
Temps are cold but nothing i can do, even with 2 bar heaters running around the clock grow tent temps fluctuate between 14 and 20. Sort of depends on the temp outside as thr heaters only increase the temp by 6 or 8c at most.
The condensation issues I had last week are solved, but I could only achieve by running the exhaust fan all the time. No condensation but the temp suffered.
I'm really forcing myself not to defoliate but not sure if this is wise. Guess we'll see
Plants progressing well, the aroma gets stronger by the day. The temps have been super cold, night time temps between 1c and 5 c and day time tents around 12. Heating bars however have performed well and am maintaining g a temp of around 16c with a nice warm root ball, but to achieve the exhaust fan is now on its lowest setting so condensation once again is an issue. Oh well, the plants happy.
I did defoliate just to improve ventilation, mainly the undergrowth that wasn't going anywhere.
Looks alot nicer as a result and should be able to leave it be until harvest in 2-3 weeks
Super cold week with multiple nights as low as 1c but once again the heating bars did enough to keep her happy. Likely will start flushing in another week. Super sticky and smells amazing.
Really cold this week with multiple nights below zero celcius. Internal tent temps faired better but couldn't stop it dropping under 13c with exhaust fans off and heaters on. Flush starts this week and hope to harvest in 7 days. No signs of the trichs going amber but the cold may prevent them ever reaching their full potential
A little late with the update and a little late with harvest. Had a nasty flu and wasn't in a position to harvest when planned. Plant was flushed for 10 days in the end and really started showing signs of nutrient deficiencies.
Pretty much cut her down straight after these pics anyhow. Had one bud with serious rot. I guess the freezing temps the last few weeks has impacted it afterall.
Let's hope it drying process is smooth sailing.
