A simple organic natural experiment. First-time grower, together with two other strains. I have some experience with gardening and I will grow this like a tomato. I will try to use only Soil, Pumice for drainage, Chicken Manure Pellets and water. Soils: COMPO Grow Light Mix Soil. BioBizz All-Mix Balcony growth in Germany at latitude 50° N, assisted with a SANSI 36W LED Full spectrum bulb till 15. May. Then it's getting 26.5 l (7-gallon) fabric bags. This is a photoperiod: My balcony is getting some light pollution from the street and also from some night owl neighbours that have windows facing my balcony. October here can get cold, so we might need to cover it and create some artificial darkness to stimulate early blooming. The goal is to keep the plant as compact as possible. Although it just got legalized in Germany, I don't want a 2m plant on my balcony Germination: On 3. April: Scrapped some cotton from ear sticks, damped it with rain water and wrapped it around the seed, put it in a jar, in a dark place. This was too little oxygen I feel. Planted two days later with no sprout. The seedling came out on 8. April, which I will count as Week 0. Only Light-Mix Soil for the first 5 weeks.

Temperatures dropped down close to zero. Therefore the whole week indoor. Darkness 23:00 - 06:00. Got a new pot last week. The top was pinched leaving 6 branches from the main stem. My fridge had no Salat, so I chewed the top, tasted a bit like stinging nettle.

Last week also mostly indoor. In around 10 days she will get the fabric pot. My other plants got it already, but I still might have to bring them inside on some days and the space is limited under the lamp.

They got full time on the balcony on Saturday. I also boiled them a tea of fresh stinging nettle. I broke a branch by mistake, it's sitting in some jar of water and hopefully releases the roots.

I went for a Vipassana retreat, so I couldn't keep the updates. A friend was watering for me and the plants are doing great :) Still no nutrients, soil, chicken poop pellets and boiled stinging nettle tea. The branch I broke by accident, was in the water for some weeks, and started developing roots but then the water went moldy.

It's the longest days in Germany, but they aren't getting more than 5 hours of direct sunlight due to sun inclination. For the same reason I topped the vertical branch and I'm trying to spread it horizontally with the 2 side branches.. Next year I will grow horizontally the main branch from the beginning.

To repel aphids I sprayed garlic infused in alcohol with water, already did this few times without side effects. But this time I added several drops of tea tree essential oil. Is it possible that the essential oil has burned the leaves so much or is this some nutrient deficiency?

it's similar to watering in the summer while the sun is shining on the plant. the water acts like a magnifying glass on the leaves and the sun's rays do the rest. it's even worse with oil on the leaves, which can't penetrate the plant or seep away. it stays on the leaves for a long time and burns and burns

Height 90cm Width 110 cm Due to low balconies, the top of the vertical branch is not getting much direct sun. Next year only horizontal grow. I'm watering maybe 1.5 liters every 2 days. The leaf burn was definitely due to the essential oil in the spraying mix. I used one thin branch and cut it into segments, 2 out of 4 clones survived. They got the old soil from where the Autos where growing + an abundant quantity of chicken poop pellets.

It started with yellowing between the veins and I thought it's Mag deficiency, already ordered Epsom Salt. Today many leaves started dying. Is it just Mag def. or something else? Shouldn't be over watering.

Hello Korn420lie, Yes this is a Mag deficiency. Probably due pH out of range. Because a young plant like that is not really using a lot of Cal-Mag it is more important during pre-flowering and late flowering. Happy Growing Buddy! 💚

The big one is in the pre flowering phase. Height: 110cm Width: 120cm I started adding epsom salt occasionally. Which might have saved the clones as well.

I fucked by adding chicken manure as top dressing. Used to water it twice/day with 1.5l of water due to high temperatures and low humidity. After adding the chicken pellets, the drainage diminished and temperatures also dropped. Maybe because of ammonia also? Now 2 days like this

Hey I am not sure but It looks like the chicken manure might have caused nutrient burn or blocked the drainage leading to overwatering and root issues. Reduce watering for now and let the soil dry out a bit, and consider flushing the soil to remove excess nutrients

Classic underwatered you can tell because it looks limp lifeless on the other side if you overwater leaves will droop from being heavy with water. Also big plant small container hard to overwater also another clue.

Please check my previous Questions. Underwatering recovers in less than hour. But after giving her 4 liters of water she just getting worse. Took the pot out to check visually and it was fully dry on the perimeter. Wet on top and bottom-center. Also there was a change in weather.

i placed a thin plant pot into my soil. it goes to just under half way down. with an open top. it holds 500ml. i fill this twice. before trickeling water on top to wet the soil. doing this forces water into the center of my soil. with the pot firmly placed in the dirt. it drains over 5 minites, slowly watering the soil. i then place a small peice of card under my pot. the second i see it absorb water. i stop. this helps reduce run off

With larger plants like that in bags you need to soak them in saucers now and then. Some areas of soil dry and go hydrophobic and the water just runs through it without absorbing and it's difficult to get them damp again. If it gets really bad, you can soak it in a taller bucket, but if you stay on top of it a saucer once every week or 2 is enough.
