Day 0: I started my winter scrog a couple of weeks earlier than planned. This run with be two Barney's Farm strains in each tent. I'm really excited to be growing these strains, they all look delicious! I will know in about 5 months!
Day 3: We have liftoff! 3/4 seeds popped!
Day 4: Sprouts are looking good, so far!
Day 5: Sprouts are hitting the top of the clear plastic cover, so I moved them into small cups with some soil with Great White powder (probably not needed since I am using Happy Frog soil for starting out) and put them in the tent to let the LED start working it's magic.
Day 6: I dug into the pellet to see if the seed was on it's way, but after a few more days, it doesn't seem to be doing anything, so I'm germinating a 4th seed. The plastic domes over the sprouts are keeping them nice and moist. I should be able to remove them in a few days.
Day 7: so far, so good! Keeping the humidity dome on until tomorrow.
Day 8: removed the humidity dome and moistened the soil with cal mag foliar spray and turned on the oscillating fan.
Day 10: watered with URB foliar and cal-mag foliar spray.
Day 12: watered with URB foliar and cal-mag foliar spray.
Day 14: She's looking good and coming along nicely!
Day 16: Looking good and today I turned on the boost switch along with the Veg switch.
Day 17: This small cup is drying out quickly, so I have been giving small daily drinks. I will be transplanting to 1gal pots and lowering the lights soon.
Day 18: Lowered the light to 24" today and gave small drink of URB and cal-mag foliar spray.
Day 19: Gave two small drinks today and lowered the space heater temp. I have been refraining from actually soaking the soil and just wetting the top of the soil once a day and I believe this is helping prevent overwatering.
Day 20: I'm not liking the progress in these cups, so I will transplant tomorrow into 1gal fabric pots.
Day 21: Transplanted into 1gal fabric pots with Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil and watered 1qt with 30ml/gal of URB, 5ml EH Cal-mag, and 5ml MFP and sprinkled some Great White rooting powder on the roots and in the soil. I may have been under watering the small pots, as the soil was very very dry even with soaking the top layer everyday. Next time I'll water a little more to make sure the soil is wet enough.
Day 22: The transplant seems to be successful. No signs of stress and she looks happy in her new home.
Day 23: She's starting to take off now. I think that Great White makes a big difference when transplanting!
Day 24: Fed EH early veg week with 3ml instead of 4ml, cal-mag 5ml, and root wizard 15ml
Day 25: Wow! What a difference after one feeding! They have really grown significantly overnight. I'm doing a timelapse and can really see the difference. This will be an interesting grow using EH brand from start to finish.
Day 26: Watered 1 quart of 5ml EH Cal-mag, 5ml EH Sturdy Stalk and .6ml MammothP/gal
Day 27: Sprayed some URB foliar today and just let them do their thing.
Day 28: Fed EH early veg week today. They are really looking good after one week in 1gal pots!
Day 30: Watered 1qt of Cal-Mag, Sturdy Stalk, MammothP today and they are really looking healthy.
Day 32: Transplanted to 7 gam and topped 5th node from each plant. I used Great White root powder sprinkled on the roots and in the transplant hole.
Day 33: Transplant looks to be successful. They were looking a little sad last night, but have completely bounced back and look to be very healthy. I turned on the second 150W LED to boost VEG.
Day 34: Watered a half gallon of Cal-mag, Sturdy Stalk and MammothP. They are really taking off now and when I rub the leaves and smell my fingers, WOAH! These are going to be some stinkers!
Day 35: Looking good and continues fantastic growth. I think I am watering the right amount this time and the growth is showing a great response this time around.
Day 38: I spiked down the 4 mains on each plant today using plant tie downs and wire coat hanger pieces. They are really robust plants for their age compared to previous grows. Either I'm getting the hang of this, or the strains are just going strong or both!
Day 39: I got a little heavy handed adjusting the LST spikes on Blue Gelato 41 and one of the main tops was pulled a little too hard and I came home to it wilting pretty badly. I put some clonex gel at the joint where is was pulled away. It will make it or it won't. I sure hope it does! If it does die off, I may be able to use one of the other lower branches as a main, since they are coming up quickly, too.
Day 40: It looks like the branch might survive after all! Clonex Gel to the rescue!
Day 41: The branch is standing back up, but it's not doing much. Hopefully, it does something and gets growing again.
Day 42: Fed 1gal of water per plant today. I don't think the broken stem is going to make it, so I topped one of the secondary branches to get a couple more tops in the scrog.
Day 45: Did some additional LST tie downs with plant wire and spread out the canopy so everything underneath is getting more light.
Day 48: Did more LST work to spread out the canopy a bit more. A few weeks to go before adding the screen.
Day 49: A few more weeks before she's ready for the screen, but she smells amazing and is very healthy!
Day 53: I removed the plant tie downs and installed the screens today, as well as turning on the BLOOM switch in addition to the VEG switch. I also bumped the nutes from 4ml to 5ml/gal per the EH feeding chart for late veg feeding.
Day 54: Wow, really big growth spurt after yesterday's feeding. She is already needing to be trained through the screen. SCROG time!
Day 56: Things seem to be pretty dialed in this time. I had actually not been raising the light to the recommended 24" distance, but they didn't seem to mind at all. I did raise them up to about 22", just to be on the safe side and let them grow up into the light. I haven't been foliar feeding as much this time around and there are fewer spots on the leaves and other leaf anomalies that I've seen in the past. Maybe it's the EH nutes keeping everything dialed in? Either way, I'm glad I put the screen on when I did, these babes are growing fast!
Day 57: Increased to 1gal/plant watering volume
Day 59: Lots of growth over the past couple of days and lots of tucking to fill out the screen. This scrog is going MUCH faster than my previous scrogs.
Day 61: Almost time to flip to 12/12! I could wait a bit longer, but I never know how much stretch to allow for, since every plant is different. I might let it go a bit closer to 70 days and see what I think.
Day 63: This should be the last week in veg. It might be a partial week...I'll make the call in a few days. I'm excited to see these babes flower!!!
Day 64: Last night I saw what appeared to be signs of overwatering, so I turned off the humidifier and the temp increased immediately and today, they look just fine. I also raised the 150W LED on that side of the tent just a bit to reduce the intensity. This will be the last week for veg. I flipped the other tent, but these babes need just a little longer before flipping.
Day 65: They looked pretty thirsty today, so I fed 1 gal of late veg nutes per plant. The soil was very dry according to my meter, so if I overwatered last time, they had plenty of dryness today.
Day 67: I came home to near wilting plants! It had been 52 hours since last feeding and I've never seen them this thirsty during this grow. I watered 1 gal/plant again and GZ is showing the same signs of over watering again. The leaf color is fine with zero nutrient issues, so I suspect there may be a root problem. I don't know what else it could be?
Day 68: The moisture meter showed bone dry again, so I watered a half gallon of water/cal-mag.
Day 69: She was dry again today, so I watered a half gallon of late veg nutes.
Day 70: Last day of VEG!
Day 71: Flower day 1!! The time to flower is finally here!!! It's funny how at the beginning, everything seems so slow going and then the next thing you know, you have grown bushes ready to flower. I am really excited to see what these ladies produce in the coming weeks! Today was a Cal-mag/Sturdy Stalk/MammothP day. Next watering starts the transition nutes.
Day 74: The stretch is underway! I can't wait to see what this plant produces!
Day 76: The stretch is in full mode now. BG isn't stretching as much, but GZ is going bananas!
Day 77: The tent smells absolutely amazing when I open it. GZ is definitely more of a stretcher than BG. The stalk on BG is the biggest I've ever seen!
Day 78: I turned the second 150W LED back on above GZ to give some additional light for flowering. If I see a negative response, I'll turn it back off. The stretch continues into week 2!
Day 79: I got home and both were beginning to wilt, but GZ was much drier. I watered a full gallon to really drench the roots. I also turned off the extra LED. I guess this plant just doesn't like the extra heat in the tent. 75 degrees seems to be the sweet spot for GZ to thrive. Hopefully, less light and lower temps will have her looking good again tomorrow.
Day 80: GZ looks MUCH better after watering and reducing heat. I'll leave things as they are and not push it at this point.
Day 82: There is some serious stretch going on with a few branches. I have nowhere else to tuck them, so they are going to keeping growing vertically for the rest of the stretch. The tent smells so amazing!!
Day 84: Another week, and that much closer to harvest. She has definitely recovered from any issues and has a ton of bud sites! There is still some stretching going on, but I've got the light set to 18" above the canopy to ensure core 3x3 coverage.
Day 85: The stretch appears to be winding down and I've got a rather unruly plants, but a ton of bud sites and the tent smells amazing! So far, so good!
Day 91: I've been just letting them do their thing this week. Keeping up on watering 1 gal per plant every other day. I raised the main LED to 18" today and turned on the 150W LED and raised it higher to cover some of the taller buds at the outer edges of the screen. I do believe this is how a scrog is supposed to be!
Day 92, Flower day 22: The buds are well underway now and the tent smells luxurious when you open it. I can't get over how much she grew during the stretch. There are going to be some good size colas on this side of the tent!
Day 99: Flowers are growing strong and are starting to pack on size and trichome development is well underway!
Day 105: The flowers are packing on weight and the tent smells ridiculous. This tent is 10 degrees warmer than the other tent, due to the added lights, so it's interesting to see the difference in plant growth. I don't seem to see any issues with the lower temps at all. In fact, it might be a more suitable temp for them as they are certainly putting out a lot of sugar in the lower temp tent. Of course, that could be the strain, but either way, the tents are coming along great! Only about 4 weeks left to go!
Day 106: I believe I spoke too soon and I was actually having a bit too high temp in this tent. I got a few nanners popping out on GZ but I plucked them off and have been looking diligently for more. Otherwise, the buds are packing on size and smell and I can't wait to harvest!!!
Day 113: What a beautiful plant! The buds look almost look like pint trees with their conical tops. Lots of sugar going, but it's going to be awhile before 70 days.
Day 119: OMG, the tent smells so amazing. Actually, it's so strong, my carbon filter can't keep up and when I walk in the house. BAM smacks you in the face. It's going to be pretty stinky around here for a couple more weeks.
Day 127, flower day 57: This beautiful plant is taking a bit longer than her tent sister. Specs say 70 days and I think it's going to take close to that long. I will be flushing soon and can't wait to chop her down and smoker her!
Day 134, flower day 64: The final week has arrived! I am flushing this week and then chopping on Sunday, so it will be a full 70 days of flowering. The tent smells amazing and I'm seeing some amber topped trichomes now. Harvest day is nearly here, at last!!
Day 170, flower day 70: HARVEST DAY!! I took these pic before chopping. They smelled sooooooo good chopping them down and trimming them up. I can't wait to get them dried and weighed up and cured and ready for enjoying.
