Dear Diary,
The day of March 9 is not only World DJ Day for me this year, but also the start of a wonderful journey into growing cannabis.
I placed some of the seeds that my buddy shared with me into wet paper towels and in 48 hours 5 out of 10 seeds were rooted. So I transplanted them into little pots filled with ProMix HP soil-perolyte mix and covered them with Zip-Lock Bags for humidity.
72 later, 7 out of 10 successfully germinated and I removed the bags. The light is still at almost maximum height at this point.
I'm late filling out the first part of the diary, but this allows me to learn my lights were way too far. These seedlings looked too tall, at this point I wasn't sure if it was a good or bad thing.
Now the lights are lower and they start growing wider! I wish I had done this earlier. Seedlings at this stage can take much more light. I had mine on maximum height. I also topped the soil with some worm castings that I bought recently. Let those microbes do the logistics!
Transplantation day! They are now wider than their little 200ml pots, so I moved them to 1.5 gallons. I also supported the couple with some chopsticks, but they recovered in no time.
Also, this is the week I had the first leaf problem. Further investigation showed it most likely was overwatering.
The soil mix was a ProMix HP soil with 25% Worm Castings and the recommended dosage of a Gaia Green All Purpose. Tbh, I don't remember the exact measures.
This is going to be the last week of vegetation. I'm now getting worried about how fast they grow, but the gender reveal is still pretty far ahead. The plants got another round of defoliation, and I also added a net to spread the canopy evenly.
Ladies only. Finally got some dudes out of my tent! Now as planned, 3 plants only. The only difference is that I wanted to transplant them again, onto 5-gallon pots with Bloom nutrients in them. I guess I will just have to top the soil with it now.
I'm now catching up with my diary! Fresh photos are of today. More details were also provided, and next week planning to do a video overview.
The first innovation is Reverse Osmosis filtration. Input water PH 9.5 with TDS 20. Run-off water from soil - PH 7.4. I guess next watering I'll bring the PH down to 6 for the input water and measure the output again.
Secondly, I've added Bloom dry nutrients top-dressing each plant. I used Gaia Green brand and followed the instructions.
I'm also taking much more care about humidity, it dropped as low as 25%. I'm trying to keep it around 45-55 range with my little hudifier outside of the tent.
Anyway, this week seems good, look at the growth over the weekend! And any comments from experience growers are always welcome.
Axel,
Peace!
