I'm sorry - i didn't take any pics in this week. Added one pic to show the whole setup, though. Top row left Bubble Kush Auto; bottom left Green Gelato Auto; bottom right Royal Gorilla Auto (all RQS and will NOT be covered here), finally top right Dark Devil Auto.
Seedling seemed somewhat undecided if it wanted to live or if it wanted to just die off. Very little progress. I just let the plant do its thing and observed.
Some general info: no nudes at this age, soil is heavily fertilized already.
Room-temps over the day around 20-24° C, depending on weather. Weather had been pretty mixed, compared to 2023 and 2022, this years April had less sunlight and it shows with the plants. Night-temps probably somewhat lower than 20° C, but not by much.
Heating is still turned on, so temps during the day will at least have 20° C.
Humidity is fluctuating in the 30 - 40% range.
No water given, soil still humid from initial soaking.
Growing plants under these suboptimal conditions this early in the year is harsh for the plants. I use to do another growing cycle around end of May / early June, which is more beneficial for the seedling stage. If i compare results, i find that plants started this early grow bigger under this conditions.
Usually "ugly" stretched plants, but yield can be (depending on strain) quite bigger than what the same strain will deliver if grown later in the year.
I had originally planned to use the Dark Devil in the 2. cycle this year. Planted four different strains of RQS seeds for the first run, however one seed didn't germinate (was an older seed anyway, also the first time for me that a seed didn't germinate).
Since i hadn't any seeds from that particular strain left i decided to speed up my plans and use a Dark Devil seed as a replacement, as i have quite a few of those.
Talking about this particular seed: it was suspiciously small. Color, texture all looked normal, size didn't. As i had so far only experience with seeds from RQS, i compared this "strange" seed to the other Dark Devil seeds, the others were all much bigger.
I then compared all Dark Devil seeds to seeds from RQS (different strains) and they all had more or less the same size, making this particular seed the only one that stuck out. Don't know if there's any connection to this size thing.
Amusingly, the seed used here was a bonus seed from a "Muestra Gratuita" single pack. I had bought a 3+1 pack of this strain from a reseller and that seller had added 4 of those single seed freebie packs.
@Sweet_Seeds, Gracias, jaypp! And an additional "gracias" for supplying such nice seeds!
Already enjoying this grow, the small Dark Devil is taking its time but it's coming strong!
Take care!
@McPluesch, Thank you! Ordered some more seeds of different strains from Sweet Seeds during their 420 promo.
Good luck with you own grow of this strain! If you're doing a diary about it, i'll make sure to check it out.
