From 3 seeds we get 2 seedlings, transplanted on 4/16. In 5 gallon buckets of Coast of Maine Stonington Blend with a little bit of extra perlite. Set up with the AC Infinity self-watering bases, we'll see how long it takes to get them drinking. So far, so good, healthy and happy at the end of the week.
Fed week 1 mix from Fox Farm Soil schedule on Tuesday and Friday. Taking water well from self-watering pots, reservoirs filled on Tuesday and Friday as well. Self-watering reservoirs mostly emptied by Monday and soil dried out well from healthy feeding on Friday. Turned up the lights and reset height from 12" to 16" as we move well into veg.
Growing well, mostly letting them be and do their own thing at this point. Will skip next top feed to let it dry out just a bit more. Weather is warming up so temp is up a bit but still in the range we want. Pulling the light up every couple days as they stretch a bit.
Into the 4th week now, should be starting to pop some preflowers shortly. Fed and watered on Wednesday this week.
Upd Day 27: Was gone for a few days, 2 plants in the tent are healthy but Critical Kush #2 has some leave damage and distress. Looks chewed to me, not sure if something snuck in. Took it out of the tent, trimmed the damage back and gave it a hit with some neem oil and a foliar feed. It's a bit scraggly after the haircut, we'll see how it progresses. Other plants seem fine so far, monitoring.
Moved the runt out of the plant and outside for the remainder. It has some odd growth in it's leaves, some mutant genes or something, it's happy outside and seems to be doing ok. Growing well this week, really filled out to 21". Cleaned out the self watering buckets and definitely had some root growth down into the wicks. Flowering has clearly started on the plant remaining in the tent, a little slower on the outside one, unsurprisingly.
Continuing along nicely, getting crowded in the tent. A little overshadowed by the Lemon AK growing next to it, tempted to send this Kush outside to finish with it's other seedmate purely for the space but we'll stay the course for now.
Welp, ran out of space in the tent, looks like 3x3 will only support 1 plant in these 5gal buckets. Definitely got more height this go round, so we'll call it a success. Moved the other Crit Kush outside to finish w/ it's sister that went out there a few weeks ago. Stark difference in color, though the one that came outside earlier has had a lot of weird mutant leaves so not truly surprising.
Into week 9, rained outside most of last week but not too much loss, they seem happy and healthy. The one that moved outside latter is chunky and happy. And STANKY.
Proceeding to the finish line, one plant a little farther along from the other. Had some nasty winds and they took a tumble, caught them and protected / corrected quickly but the center kola stack on the most mature plant was damaged and had to be harvested early on Saturday. The rest is trucking along. Will likely harvest the rest of that plant on Thursday and perhaps another week for plant #2.
Harvested the more mature plant, it had lost it's top to the wind, harvested a few days ago and has had a couple spots with a little rot removed. Seems stable enough and mature. Going to let the remaining one run out a bit as it seems a bit slower.
