Marmelade Had a quite bad start. The plants root didn’t grew in the jiffy. So I put it earlier in the soil. Fortunately the plant survived and is growing well. I be been already afraid to start this strain

Marmelade Unfortunately, the plant hasn't received enough sunlight due to the weather and is way too small for its age. If I let it continue like this, the yield will be very low. I planted new seedlings a few days ago and am starting over. If not all of the seedlings make it, I would probably let this plant continue the longest. Lessons Learned: - Don't sow too early. The days are too short and the sun doesn't provide enough energy.

Marmelade She's doing really well. I wanted to replace her at first, but thanks to the sun last week, she's grown really nicely and is catching up to the two-week-older plants. I'm definitely going to keep her going. Today she had delicious Fish Mix for the first time. So far, she's the pride of the family.

Marmelade I heavily watered last week. So about 2.5 liters on 35 liters of substrate. As a measure, I immediately emptied the saucer and later turned the soil. This way, I wanted to mix the dry top layer with the moist deeper layer. Additionally, there was no water for a week. It's obviously not tomatoes. They drink so much water in one day... Today, I gave 0.5L of water with 1.5 ml of Fish Mix again.

Marmelade Edit: The plant is showing only female characteristics. That's why I've switched back to the growth phase here in the report. The weather isn't so great this week. Right now, it's really coming down this weekend. The plant has grown well and is forming new leaves everywhere. One leaf is showing a slight discoloration. I'll keep an eye on that. The fungus gnats are getting a bit out of hand. I've set up yellow traps everywhere, which have already caught quite a few. Additionally, I've ordered nematodes. For the aphids, I've ordered lacewing larvae. The aphids are mostly on the chilis, but they aren't sparing the little cannabis plants either. I fed a bit today. There was delicious FishMix. The plant itself already has a very light smell, but you really have to get your nose close. We're also already in pre-flowering. Slowly but surely, despite all the terrible weather. So just two more months, and then I'll have my first plant ready 😱

Marmelade Basically, the weather was mixed this week. The sun was still enough for a little growth spurt. You can already notice a slight smell, but it's still very subtle. This week, besides the Fish Mix, I also fed them Bio Bloom and Top Max. The former because I had it on hand, and the latter because I suspect an iron deficiency. Top Max contains iron, and I hope to solve the problem with it. Additionally, I also ordered a pH meter from Aliexpress. It could also be that the pH is too high, as the water company says the water here has a pH of 7.5. It should arrive early next week. During the week, I released nematodes and beneficial nematodes. One is supposed to control the fungus gnats, and the other the aphids. The chilis are totally infested with aphids, and I have legitimate safety concerns.

Marmelade I bought a pH tester. I suspected an iron deficiency. It turned out that the soil is way too wet. The pH value of 6.4 is in the green zone. So, no water for now until the soil is somewhat dry. It's been about 7 days currently. We're at about 72% saturation right now. At a value of 50%, I'll give it another round of water with nutrients.

Marmelade The plant is growing and thriving. This week there was a lot of sunshine on some days, and the growth was strong. I think the flowering phase has now begun. You can see bushy tips on the main stem and the side branches. Not big yet, but they are there. Today I watered for the first time in two weeks. The substrate could probably have kept the plant hydrated for another week or two, but it also needs some nutrients in between. Otherwise, you can see that the pH level of the substrate is way too high. The water itself had a value of 6.5 today. I added a little splash of clear vinegar and got it down to 5.5. I hope to quickly lower the pH level in the substrate as well. I ordered the measuring device for €12 from AliExpress. It arrived after 8 days. The problem with the aphids is under control. The chilis were particularly affected. I released some hoverfly larvae. A spider and a black wasp have settled in on their own. The plants are almost aphid-free, and hopefully, the risk of cross-contamination for my hemp is now eliminated.

Marmelade I probably didn't water enough at the beginning of the week, and a few leaves are deformed. Now, depending on the weather, I’m giving 3 liters of water every 2-4 days. Otherwise, there’s a noticeable smell. When you have the window open in the evening, it comes in. Hopefully, no neighbor has complained the last few weeks…

Marmelade The plant is starting to become a bit of a smell challenge. However, it is already quite advanced, and next week it will get the full dose according to the feeding schedule. This is obviously not designed for autoflowering, so I have to skip the second week already. In 2-3 weeks, the plant will be ready. I've successfully dealt with fungus gnats and thrips. Now I have these whiteflies and I've lost the motivation. I'm just going to let them be... The main bloom is going to be huge. The side branches are also impressive. I haven't defoliated because the sun is coming through well. Additionally, I rotate the plant once a week. Water consumption has noticeably increased, but the plant is also quite tall by now.

Marmelade The smell of the plant is really stressing me out. You can't leave the window open without the whole place stinking. I've even been approached by neighbors. Especially in the mornings and evenings, the smell is very strong. I hope the plant is ready soon and I'm considering maybe chopping it down a bit earlier. Theoretically, it still has 1-2 weeks to go. Today, I gave it the maximum dose of nutrients. I kind of jumped around in the schedule since the plant has developed faster. This was probably the last dose of nutrients. The first pistils are already changing color. However, the - I’ll affectionately call them sticky glands - are still all clear. Touching the buds isn't great since the strongly scented resin is hard to get off your hands and clothes.

Marmelade Everywhere huge sticky buds. The smell is earthy, heavy, and intense. The water needs are still quite high. More pistils are turning brown, but the trichomes are still all clear. The buds haven't gained much this week. Maybe they've reached their size and are starting to ripen now. I think in 2-3 weeks the plant will be done and ready for harvest. Unfortunately, I found aphids on the undersides of the leaves. I removed the heavily infested leaves. I'm hoping to get the plant through without having to release beneficial insects again. Additionally, I removed the fresh shoots at the bottom. They won't ripen in time, and the plant should better invest its energy into the big buds.

Marmelade The maximum height has obviously been reached. The full growth is now fully focused on the heavy, sticky buds. I had to support the plant because even a light wind caused it to lean. The pistils are increasingly turning brown. However, the trichomes are still all clear. It seems like there's still 1-2 weeks to go when I compare it to other grows here. I can hardly wait for it to be finally done because it really stinks. Nevertheless, this week was truly the last time for fertilizer. The pH level in the soil is 7.0. However, I suspect that my measuring device from AliExpress is junk. Still, just to be safe, I added a splash of lemon juice to the water. The water demand remains high, at about 2-3 liters daily. This week I watched the documentary from BR where the reporter grows himself. Aside from the fact that he put the seeds on the heater to germinate, he only managed to get one plant through in the end. What was more interesting was how to conduct a legally compliant harvest and drying process. Until now, I planned to dry, trim, and then weigh. That seems to be dangerous. One has to estimate the dry weight before drying so that you don't exceed it at any point. Luckily, there are two of us, and together we won't reach the 100g, but I live in Söder-Land and prefer to be cautious.

What is that brown hole in my bud??? Should I remove it?

It looks like you’re experiencing some bud rot. Yes you should remove it and you should also go a bit further than just the necrotic bud. Carefully remove it as it contains mold spores so it doesn’t spread to the rest of the plant. Wear some gloves and thoroughly clean the snips you use after.

Marmelade I'm feeling hungover today and have zero motivation to write a detailed report. I was at the beer garden yesterday. When I parked my bike at home in the evening, the smell greeted me warmly. It's just crazy how it stinks, and the neighbors have already complained. No nutrients this week. I had fertilized with the hope of a 60-day flowering period. But it obviously still takes longer, and unfortunately, a slight nutrient burn has formed. At least the weather will get better next week, and hopefully, she'll get a boost. Two more large side shoots have been affected by bud rot. I had to cut those off. In total, that has already cost me about 80g of wet weight. Such a shame! Since the aphids have also increased significantly again, I've bought neem oil now. Hopefully, it works as a fungicide too. Edit: After 5 large side shoots have already molded, I've pulled the emergency brake. All the large/thick buds have been cut off. The popcorn buds can continue to ripen. Maybe they'll get a bit bigger now. The plant was definitely not finished yet, but I'd rather have lower quality than no harvest at all. Such a shame! 87g wet weight. The smell was very lemony and earthy.

Marmelade There was no fertilizer, and it will only be available on Monday/Tuesday in homeopathic doses. After I really contaminated thick buds from five side branches with bud rot (mold), I initiated an emergency harvest. I cut off all the thick buds. The rest can still ripen a bit longer. The harvest was 87g wet. The smell has noticeably decreased because of this! The rest will be harvested when they are ripe.

Happy Harvest Day!

I don't think it's going to be ready in 2 weeks. The buds still look very small.

@haschischhelmut, how can I tell when I can stop using the nutrients? About 10% of the pistils are already brown. However, you're right about the size of the buds. They also seem small to me compared to the product pictures.
the end.
