My first grow! First few weeks were on a windowsill until my tent arrived, so far been feeding NPK of 7-4-6 at around half strength, plan to switch to 5-10-5 during flower.
I started LST yesterday, plant was getting a bit tall. It's bushing out quite nicely so far, still fertilising with 7-4-6, nothing else, though it is an organic fertiliser. Growth has been crazy the past week, the more it grows the more it grows, really. I try to fertilise about once a week, though i started off with pretty wet soil so i only watered about 3 times so far, since the plant isn't big enough to soak it up, don't want to drown it. The pot still feels pretty heavy so i'll hold off on that, lest I overwater and kill my baby. I've had some pale spots appear, but it seems to just have been light bleach, they haven't formed on the new leaves that grew after i raised the light.
Flowering has started about a week ago, my LST seems to have had the desired effect of spreading out the canopy and preventing a single main cola, creating multiple smaller colas (about 6 or 7).
I have defoliated the smaller leaves on the bottom, the ones i could see were getting way too little sunlight to be useful to the plant. I snipped off some small colas that were forming lower on the plant under the top canopy since they wouldn't get enough light anyway and would probably just be wasted energy that the plant could be putting into the top colas.
Been feeding about once a week with just a small 200ml cup and the plant seems to be growing well, the stem is getting stronger and thicker, the colas are getting larger by the day. I've had to raise the lights since the girl's been stretching up. Overall seems healthy, no signs of disease or nutrient deficiencies. No light bleach either.
The smell has been getting stronger, for sure. My carbon filter is brand new though, so the smell is not noticable at all outside the grow space unless I take the plant out for trimming or a tie down. Though I have not had to adjust the ties too much, since the growth has slowed down about a week ago as it went into flower.
Overall, looking good. Hopefully withing a few weeks, she should be ready for harvest.
Flowering progressing nicely, the buds are growing at a slow but steady pace. Lots of trichomes growing all around the bud sites on the leaves, looks like I was lucky with the pheno. I got scared for a second thinking it might be mildew but it seems like it really is just quite the profuse trichome growth.
I've been watering and feeding about the same amount still, I pick up the pot and if it's light, i give it a good watering until some runoff. Switched to 24 hours of light, trying to max out the yield, maybe speed up the flower process a little bit if I can help it.
Lot of bud growth in the 4th week of flower, some of the pistils have started turning orange. Feeding is still the same, watering as needed/whenever the pot gets light. Some leaves have dried out and yellowed at the very very tips, but it doesn't seem very serious. Probably just too close to the light. I raised it by a few cm. I don't have a jewler's loupe, so the macro lens on my phone is the best I can do in terms of checking the trichomes. This is not ideal, but I think I can safely start flushing in a few days. Flower should be about 5-6 weeks so I think if I start this weekend i can flush out most of the nutrients out of the buds by the time harvest comes around, hopefully before 5th of July as I'll be travelling, so I'm hoping to cut and start drying before then, and leave the plant in the hands of my roommate until i get back. So far it seems like it will be done way before that though, so hopefully I might even be able to trim it myself.
Smokes pretty ass, honestly, but i didn't probably dry and cure it very well, i don't have any automatic temp or humidity controls so i just kinda let it happen on its own. I did use an integra boost 62% humidity pack to stabilise the humidity cause i had to leave for about 10 days right after harvest so I unfortunately didn't have time to cure it properly, and I also think I may have harvested too early. Can't really comment on the smoke.
As per the growing, it was really easy. The plant had no major issues I can speak of, and it would probably have done better under a stronger light, though even in these pretty sub par conditions it did amazing and the grow went great.
Flavour was pretty trash, but that's prolly just my cure. Overall the harvest wasn't huge but for a first grow I think it turned out pretty well, hopefully the next one is better. I didn't take any pictures unfortunately.
