Hi people I planted these auto candy crystal on the 7th of March an they spouted on the 9th. There looking well to me tho do I wait for all hairs to turn amber before a chop and hang or can I do it now?
Without trichomes to go by, I'd say give it another week or two. Though the photos aren't the best, I'm still seeing a fair amount of white pistils poking out and 60 days is a pretty optimistic timetable.
Do you have a jewelers loup, microscope, or something else to magnify the plant to see the trichomes?
I like to harvest when trichomes are mostly cloudy with some amber.
Clear - more heady high
Amber - more sedative high
Cloudy - mix of both
Harvest really comes down to the development of the Trichomes. The general consensus is that the Trichomes should be roughly 20% amber and the rest cloudy. This is really a personal call on that percentage because the more amber you let them get the more couch-lock the high is. I use a jewelers loop to check them. It’s not entirely based of the hairs alone although the more orange/brown the hairs are the more likely you are approaching a ready to harvest plant.
I hope this helps.
Thanks people.got amend of a mini micro device of a friend an chopped them not long after those pictures .cloudy plus Amber..lovely puff..nxt experiment auto outside
