Ok this week we had to swap the reservoir, and with no easy way to lift the plant we decided to tie the stems to the screen and lift them together, when it is high enough we remove the 5 gal bucket and trade for a 17 gal tote. We decided to keep the plant suspended by the screen for the rest of the grow, we will see how that works out. Nutrients are moved to a stronger flower profile as the transition is complete...

Any advice on harvesting the plant? Drying and curing, maintaining the aroma, flavor, and appearance? This has been a struggle for me in the past...

There are various methods that people use to harvest my friend . One of the methods being taking your plant cutting it down leaving the big fan leaves on it and hanging it for 4-7 days before trimming it the reason people do it like this is when you cut leaves and they aren't dry they will release chlorophyll and if your not careful you can cover your bud in it and it will make it taste a little different . You wanna make sure that when you're hang drying that you do it in an area which is dark and you can have the humidity as low as possible because with leave the big fan leaves on you're leaving the plant closed up and the big leaves may block the gentle breeze from flowing through the plant . Another method you can do is called wet trimming we're essentially you cut off a branch then do you're trimming right away then hang dry it for 4-7 days , you could also trim it while its on the plant still but you have less control and its pretty frustrating . For curing people usually hang dry there flowers for 4-7 days or until when they touch the buds it makes a crisp sound or the place them in a drying rack for the same amount of time until you hear the crisp sound , you can then take your flowers and place them in jars and seal them off for the rest of the curing which takes anywhere from 2-6 weeks . If you decided to place them in the jars you can purchase bodeva humidity packs and this will control the humidity inside the jar to a certain% there are a variety of % you can choose from 45 , 50 , 55 , 60 and 65% again you want the humidity as low as you can get it a safe number is 45-50 % I would still recommend that you open the jars daily and check your buds allowing fresh air to get to them in order to prevent stale smelling bud . If you aren't using the humidity packs i advise when you place them in the jars to take them out 2x a day leave them sit on a table till they dry up and make that crisp sound again then place them back into the jar you will notice how ever that it will not take days this time it will only take hours if not less , as time goes on you will need to open the jars less and less until you wont need to open them unless your ready to smoke some of them buds . The aroma and flavor come from the cure if you have a terrible cure you will have terrible tasting and smelling cannabis . The longer you cure the better , your flowers will be more aromatic , flavourful and most importantly more potent !! I hope this information is useful in helping you select a harvesting / curing method that best suits your needs . -Happy Growing!

Thanks @ ValhallasGarden for taking the time to share your experience with me. In the past I have always manicured them before hanging them and usually only for 2-4 days before calling them dry. I have used boveda before but maybe too wet when I put them in the jars? It has for the last couple of harvessts turned out with a killer high but the "homegrown" smell is a problem.. think I will try your method of leaving them with the leaves on for the hang. Should I hang it whole in the tent I grew in, or cut each branch individually? The tent should be at 71-72°, and RH around 42% in there... And how should the air intake and exhaust be managed? Should I turn the fans off? I really appreciate any input, I want to get this one right!
