This is my 2nd grow, although the first only just reached flowering. The plant I tried a Kratky setup with during my first grow was unfortunately stunted. So this is my attempt at redemption!
It seems to be the first diary on the site with this particular strain, hurray for that :D
Day 0: I put the seed in a soaked cocos pellet and stored it in a lunch box. Then covered the box with a towel. Temperature is currently at 25°C.
Day 1: Removed the towel, box is under light now.
Day 2: First tip of the plant is visible! Germination successful.
This will be a Kratky grow, meaning a hydroponics setup without any pump or water movement. I plan to have 3 containers in total, moving the plant in a week or so and again when flowering starts. This allows me to increase the reservoir size and nutrient levels according to the plant's needs. First reservoir is 0.5L of water with an EC of 1.2.
Day 3: Germination finished, start of the first veg week in the diary. Let's go! :D
Day 5: Side roots start to appear, true leaves continue to grow in size
Day 11: Growth is looking good so far. Already better than my first attempt at Kratky cannabis.
Day 13: Lots of growth. Some whit-ish spots on the leaves, but so far not concerning.
Day 18: Plant looks healthy. I switched to a bucket with 4 liters of fluid today and increased the nutrient level to the plant's progress in growth. Now it has an EC of 1.7 with a PH of 5.8. The plant is still under 2x42W LED bars. Eventually when it flowers and starts to smell I'll move her outside on my balcony.
Day 22: The brown spots on the leaves means that something with the nutrients was messed up. Turns out, the PH was above 7, which is very different from the 5.8 I measured after the water change. Unfortunately I overcorrected at first, which caused the bottom leaves to crumble up the very same day. Eventually I diluted everything and brought the PH back to a normal level.
Growth continued during this week, but the nutrient incident last week definitely stunted the potential of the plant. Also signs of pre-flowering, which is definitely too early for the plant's size
The plant is starting to flower. The roots developed quite a bit further and it also underwent a growth spurt. I'll probably have to add some more nutrients soon, as the tips of the top leaves are a little yellow.
Day 38: I added thermal insulation to the bucket and the plant is outside on my balcony now. Weather forecast looks pretty good, hopefully the plant will get plenty of sun in the coming days.
