I started to germinate my four seeds within the peat pellet. Please don't mind my poor engineering with those Legos 😅.
After three days, they came out of the pellet. Unfortunately, only two stayed within it, and the other ones went out with their roots (third and fourth picture).
I figured that the pellet might have been so dense that instead of growing into the substrate, the roots pushed the whole plant out . Definitely something I have never seen before 😵.
Therefore, I removed the skin of the pellet, softened it up, and put the plants into my new substrate. I also added a new 15 W light so they can grow a bit bigger before they go outside.
So, I put a lot of stress on those four in their early stage, and I expect two of them to have a very difficult time surviving 😔.
Light - 15 Sansi LED
Substrate - BioBizz light mix
Hello 🙌,
seems like everyone survived their first hour of stress. In fact, they did pretty well growing 👌. One is a bit behind in growth compared to the others, which could be due to a bit less water at the start.
They have all gotten a bit leggy, which is probably because of my 15 W light and no ventilation to strengthen their stems. I will probably put them out in the wild next week, so they can enjoy the full power of the sun.
But overall, I'm quite happy with how the first week went. I just added some water every two days.
Thank you for tuning in, see you next week 👋.
Hello and welcome back 🙌,
This week, a lot has happened. On day 8, they experienced their first time outside and did very well, except that they were a bit wobbly in the wind. On day 12, the weather started to get better, so I decided to move them outside. First, I transplanted them into bigger pots and built them their own greenhouse.
The weather was not too sunny in the first days, so they were able to adjust well to the new conditions. A lot of flies are getting captured in this greenhouse, but I hope that this will not be an issue in the future.
Overall, I'm satisfied with their progress this week. Only Pheno 4 is a bit behind compared to the others.
Thanks for reading, see you next week! 👋
Hello and welcome back 🙌,
This week was pretty straightforward. They have grown okay, but Pheno 4 is lacking in leaf size compared to the others. I think it was a bit less growth due to the cold nights this week (down to 6 degrees (Pic 11)) and less sun.
Let me know what you think of the progress, any advice is appreciated! 👊
Right in the last hours of this week, I started low-stress training on Pheno 1 and Pheno 3 (Pic 9 and 10). I only did LST on 2 out of 4 to have a comparison and to gain experience 😵.
That's it for this week!
Thanks for checking in and see you next week 👋!
Hello and welcome back 🙌,
Both plants I did LST on adjusted quite well to the training. Overall, the growth was good throughout the week.
The weather was a bit mixed, with good sun but also a few rainy and cloudy days.
The first flower hairs appeared, so we will hopefully see a big stretch in the next few days. I also gave them some fertilizer near the end of this week.
A snail also attacked a leaf of Pheno 3, but I couldn't find the snail 😡.
So it's going forward okay.
Thanks for reading and see you next week 👋!
Hello and welcome back 🙌,
This week the weather was crazy good for these four. The stretching is really going well, and they have grown nicely.
I removed LST on Pheno 3 because it didn't work great. On the other hand, the LST on Pheno 1 has proven to be quite successful (stronger stems and good light distribution on all bud sites).
I removed some leaves on all four plants to ensure more light reaches the lower bud sites.
Progress is good and strong.
Thanks for stopping by and see you next week 👏!
Hello and welcome back 🙌,
This week was pretty straightforward. I did some defoliation, gave them nutrients, and watched out for pests.
The buds on Pheno 3 are smaller than ther others, but it ist the biggest plant.
The weather wasn't so pleasant, but so far, nothing bad has happened. My biggest concern is bud rot, since I've seen many reports of this problem destroying entire plants. Therefore, I'm trying to ensure that the buds don't get wet.
But overall, it's going quite well. I hope for more sunny days.
Thanks for reading and see you next week👋.
Hello and welcome back 🙌,
The temperatures this week were pretty stable, and it was sunny overall.
The plants are starting to drink more, and the buds are growing bigger. Pheno 4 still has the furthest developed buds and looks quite frosty!
I opted to only have 3 plants in the tent so they get more space for optimal airflow and the sunlight they need. Pheno 3 now has an open-air place in my garden. It gets more sun but isn't that protected from the elements. I chose it to be outside since it has the least progress in terms of bud development.
The biggest problem to date is definitely snails chewing on the plants. There are also a few smaller holes in the upper leaves, but I haven't found any suspects 😐.
Other than that, they look good and strong 😃.
Thanks for reading and see you next week 👋!
Hello and welcome back 🙌,
The weather this week was crazy good. The sun was out almost the whole time, and no rain occurred.
Therefore, the buds had a good time growing more dense and big. In terms of bud development, Pheno 4 is still ahead, even showing some brown trichomes. I'm probably going to harvest this one next week. Pheno 1 has some purple coloration, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out 😋.
The furthest behind is for sure Pheno 3. Its buds are still small, and it seems to struggle more. This could be due to the new spot and the greater exposure to wind, but I have no clue.
For next year, I plan to do more against pests because there is a lot of life around my plants. I just hope they will maintain their good performance over the next few weeks.
That's it for this week. Thanks for reading and see you later 👋!
Hello and welcome back 🙌,
This week was good as well, with plenty of sun and good bud growth.
I did some defoliation to increase the airflow because the weather for next week is expected to be much worse.
I gave them nutrients every second or third day while watering.
In terms of harvesting i was wrong since the trichomes still look a bit clear, but Pheno 4 will definitely be the first to be harvested.
A branch of Pheno 3 broke, so I'm using this now to test if my drying conditions are okay and to get an estimate on how long drying will take.
To say the least, I'm quite happy and looking forward to harvesting hopefully soon 😋.
Thanks for reading and see you next week 👋
