Old seeds popped when I didn’t expect them to.. I only expected 10-20.. ah well more work more opportunity! Waiting for the females and males to show, and then onto flowering those out to find a keeper or two! I'll be using living organic soil / organic inputs.
The 9 plants that are little larger (albiet stunted, light too close first 3 weeks, fixed week 4 and they healed) are Bodhi seeds Dread Bread, Sunshine Head, and a couple other cultivars. Only 3 turned out to be female. 1 Dread Bread and 2 Field Trips. I'll make a seperate Journal to follow those girls soon.
Moved my lights up to the top of the tent and the plants responded with explosive growth. 340 watts of LED for veg. It had been a couple years since I used these lights and I forgot how powerful they are.
Huge growth from the Bodhi X DNA cup plants, they will show sex and the females transplanted next week. Using Zeus Juice by Nectar for the Gods and freeze dried coconut powder from Buildasoil
Very exited to see how this run shapes up! This is my second outdoor grow. I topped my F1 plants as if they were indoor plants. A little too soon. I believe they will take off regardless, and Im trying to keep them under 6ft tall anyway. I'll be vegging some girls longer, but larger ones in the tent are on schedule to flip June 1st.
Not too much to report this week. The now confirmed ladies are in cruise control.. might get one more tent for the girls in the closet because they will outgrow that space
With the temperatures warming up growth is starting to boom.. Still planning on flipping the 4x4 on the 1st. The others will veg a while longer while I try to get my glitchy hlg 550 v1 to work. Cheers
Added 2 more 100watt lights from Mars, and turned off the old middle blurple. So 400 watts of white LED until maybe week 5 I'll add back my old 135 blurple mars as a "bloom booster". The plants are 58 days old from germination, it's onto the 12/12 flip! Not a perfect canopy because they are my F1 seeds with varying genetics.
I accidentally uploaded the photos this week (6/15-6/7) backwards and it won’t let me reorient it, oh well! Closet plants have been flipped to 12/12 at the end of this week. Now the only plants vegging are in new 3x3 (and outdoors)
Unfortunately my HLG 550 proved unreliable with uncontrolled fluctuations in power. Back to my nearly 10 year old mars hydro ‘300w’ blurple for 3x3.. will get one more light next month for the 3x3 to flower.
The closet plants have been flipped!
Everything is very healthy barring my Bodhi Dread Bread plant in the greenhouse that I broke. Hoping it will bounce back. I’m letting it dry out now, it began to become overwatered after I broke the stem. The plant couldn’t take up water like it needed to and the roots got too wet.
Everything is on “cruise control” now that we’re in bigger pots and are in groove with the dry / wet cycles of the plants. It’s as easy as *letting them grow*. I have to be mindful I AM the biggest variable to watch out for when it comes to killing my plants.. I always have to remind myself- “Don’t kill them with kindness, that’s mindless!”
All the gardens are growing along..
We've had some hot days and some temperate days. I got used to the temperate days, got caught off guard, and let my 4x4 flower tent dry out.. Glad I check it nightly though after a good soak they perked back up.
Im changing my flowering closet to run nighttime hours to avoid some high temp days coming in July.
I also lowered my lights to their final height in my 4x4, around 22 inches. The plants are in 2 gallon pots, tiny, and needed to be babied into flower, but are now absorbing light aggressively in day 30 of flower and I called they can handle the +/- 800 PPFD.
The Bodhi plants in the greenhouse appear to be flowering early.. It's my second outdoor grow all time so Im just learning and playing it by ear. My F1 seeds seem to have NOT gone into flower at least not as aggressively as the Bodhi's. There's some very hot and sunny days ahead and Im thinking that will give them the message to go back to veg. We will wait and see!
