These started out on a paper towel, then moved into the pots, they had a healthy little root, however one did loose their seedy shell. I have no idea what I am doing 😬

Kinda relieved that these are actually growing. I am not really sure what I am doing with the water. I started having the circulation fan on in the tent. Next week when they enter veg I guess I will put some feed in there. Bit concerned about the drip coming in on a single prong on the roots, maybe I will try and sort that? I have no idea what I am doing

This week so far has been a week of faffing. First I noticed that the soil outside the damp core was very dry, so I decided now was the time to sort out the drip feeder to have a better spread throughout the pot. To this end I increased the number of drip prongs per plant to 3. This is setup in a "Load Balancer" style (so 1 pipe, to 3 pipes, to 9 pipes), rather than a manifold so, shouldn't increase the amount of water only the distribution. Decided now was the time to give them their first feeding, I think they are out of seedling into veg now, all their leaves look like cannabis leaves now. Minor disaster when I chucked the flowering tablet in the water and had to chuck it for the veg tablet. Now I have done it, this feels like it was a bit too early, but and perhaps I could have stood to wait for couple of days, but it's done now, and no one looks worse for wear. The air seems low on humidity and I am not sure what the cause of this is, are the plants soil too try? Misting the air helps, but only briefly. After a bit of a hunt the humidifiers online seem a bit meh, I can't see many models that let you set the % you want without them being millions of quid. On the other hand this does give me an excuse to make my own cold water mister! I got a Amphibian terrerium plug which detects humidity, and plugged a ultrasonic mister for fountains. Looks a bit janky compared to everything else, maybe I will 3d print a better container for it. After reviewing the ideal % it turns out that the mister wasn't needed at all. 🤦‍♀️ Oh well, it was a fun project. I also am not really sure what I am doing with the water, but I overwatered them a bit the day I fed them and there was some water in the drip tray the next day, about half a cm on one of them and less on the others. Chucked that out, and the plants don't look unhealthy. I will get a soil water meter to make a more informed decision about the watering in the future I think. The positive of overwatering is that the soil is generally looking a lot more healthy, and less super dry outside the core, I will pause the drip for a day or so to make sure we get a bit of air in there, and if it's dry-er I will restart it again. I think it as a good shout faffing with the water drip prong thingies. I should probably try to move the circulation fan to above the mister, so all the plants get blown a bit, I think the one under the fan doesn't get so much. I have no idea what I am doing

A stressful week. Firstly spotted some burning on the edges of the leaves and some slight taco-ing. After doing what any new grower would do (panicking and franticly googling in a "I just searched web md and I think I have cancer" sort of way), I found out that commonly this is caused by heat stress. I also had some helpful peeps on here tell me the same thing. To resolve this I moved the tent to a different location that's a bit cooler, and discovered that there is a whole huge velcro vent in the side of the grow tent for exactly this. Oh well, you live and you try desperately not to learn. I also moved the sensor closer to the canopy, to make the fan turn on at more appropriate times. My Wasserwaage is about the right height that I can use to quickly measure the light height from the top of the plants and adjust it without too much thinking. Vital pre-coffee. I also realised I wasn't giving the soil enough time to dry out, so I have switched to manually triggering the water, and everyone seems happy about that at the moment. I have no idea what I am doing, but I feel like I am getting a handle on this.

I was thinking about trying to do some training, probably LST, when do I need to start that?

You can defiantly start now if you would like. I pull my plant over to start it growing horizontal to give the branches the most light and also even the canopy out. I hope this helps.

Any idea what is causing this crisping on a few of my leaves? I am maybe seeing some slight curling/taco-ing on the upper leaves too? I think the PH might be a bit high in my water too, it's 7. I've ordered a filter and some PH Dwon, the PPM was only 250. Related?

Heat and RH stress with strong feeds + maybe lights. Tacoing leaves is normal for plants that are to hot with low RH and need more fresh air, This can also happen with light stress. The spacing between your nodes is a bit compact not the worst so can also try lowering the lights intensity. Good Luck!

Hopefully this week will be smoother. I decided it was now or never on the LST front, so I went for it. I didn't want to do it when they were stressed last week, hopefully this isn't too late. Ok so like a day or two after pulling the plants for the lst they started getting preflowers, so I guess it really was the last possible moment, maybe even a little late. Whacked in a flowering tab into the water, and faffed till the PH was right. Looks like one of them is still in preflower, but the other two are going at it. Can't tell if it's a boy or just a late bloomer, I guess I keep waiting, see how things develop. I think I kinda think it's a boy though.. Thanks modmyplants for giving me a way better guide to sexing plants to what I had already found.

So two of my plants have flowered, however a third seems somewhat shorter and doesn't seem to have Pistil. Is this plant not yet flowering, is it male, or is something else going in here. Looks healthy other than that.

Hello, It looks like a late bloomer. I would check every day once but to me she just looks like she needs more time for the flip. Auto's do what they want when they want and not every seed is the same so she may grow different and later also maybe smell and taste different. I would wait a little more just to be sure. Hope this helps.

The late bloomer flowered, so I guess I was wrong about it being a boy. Fed them two weeks in a row. Looks like that was a mistake as I am now seeing yellowing. I assume this due to low PH at the root level? I was feeding them when it happened so I doubt it's nitrogen deficiency chucked the feed and put in regular water till I can verify the PH of the soil.

Lower leaves are turning yellow, these seem to be one that are hidden a bit from sight, so possibly not getting enough light, but it seems to be spreading, and one of them has fallen off. Is this some form of nutrient difficiency, or something simipler?

It looks like you are dealing with a nitrogen deficiency. Since nitrogen is mobile, the plant is sucking the nitrogen from the lower leaves and redistributing it to new growth. It also appears like you could be starting to deal with a calcium issue as well. I suggest using a CalMag at the manufactured recommended dose. Increase your feeding by roughly 20%. Make sure you are watering enough to get roughly 10-20% run off out the bottom. Hope this helps.

Gave them a bit of a trim at the urging of @Todzilla. Started feeding them, and stopped using filtered water. To get over the deficiency I put a tiny amount of calmag, but I don't think that'll be a regular thing. Everyone here has been super helpful. Especially around diagnosing the nutrient deficiency so quick! Since we are a bit over half way, I thought I would write down some of the things I have learned so far: * My pots are too big. This has been good in some ways, they take more water, but also are resilient to overwatering a bit more * The tent needs to be setup somewhere relatively cool, and with easy access to somewhere to vent outside * The tent has flaps on the side to let you increase ventilation * Have a stick/ruler about the right length for distance to lights so it's easy to see the top of the plants are a safe distance to the lights * Biobizz nutrients are great * Don't use filtered water * Get some glasses, green tinted lenses ideally ones specifically for LED lights. I tried a few different types before setting on the vivosun branded ones * Trimming the lower leaves seems to make the plants happier * Manual watering is a lot less stressful than drip watering * I used these little plastic bending things for LST, but in retrospect I think they damaged the stems a little. I should have used thick wire and bought pots with more than just handles, but with loops to anchor the training to. * PH Meters are v. useful * Some form of PH Down is a must * In soil meters are pretty useless * Label your plants so if you shuffle them around you can keep track of them * It's good to order extra of the hooks you can hang from the roof and can adust the height of * Autos from the same breeder and same variety can bloom at different times * Flowering looks like hairs * Use pipettes for meauring liquid food * What a deficency caused by too little Cal/Mag looks like
