So excited when cannabis cultivation became 100% legal in my location! I jumped right in with a new AC Infinity Cloudlab 642 2x4 tent along with their Humidity Dome germination kit. Used paper towel and started 2/5/2024 and saw the RQS Mimosa tap root two days later. Soil is 3 parts Fox Farm Ocean Forest to 1 part Happy Frog.
This is my first grow and looking back I probably should have gone with an auto seed, but I want a Sativa dominant strain, I want the 'full grow experience, light change etc.' so I choose RQS Mimosa.
Today the end of May 2024 I am about a week to go to first harvest and I have had no real issues other than staying out of the basement during dark 12!!
This has been so rewarding and also wonderful to meet the community on growdiaries.com and I will work to upload my photos and notes from last 4 months and capture the soon to come harvest!!! No pics of paper towels but here is the tent setup!!
I dropped the paper towel taproots and all 5 RQS - Mimosa seeds have sprouted in the trays. I started first couple of days with 40% light power with the AC-HMX7 dome and Samsung LM301H EVO diode light strips but started to notice right away the seedlings were spindling. Went to 60% for few days then 80% power. Sprays of water about 4 times a day, misting the soil. Due to the spindly growth I decided to go ahead and pick best two seedlings and transplanted to the 5 gal fabric pots.
By the end of week 3 both plants had 6 nodes and I topped both above node 4. Both plants were starting to grow rapidly and we watched for any slow down after topping. Started to use the Fox Farm nutrients. So far no issues. Plants really starting to grow. Watching how much water trying not to overwater. Lifting the pots when wet gives great reference to when water/feed is needed. Some time gaps in the photos uploaded...!
Things are moving along nicely. Only issue is some yellow tipping so moved the lights up to 21" still at 80% power. I thought maybe nut burn?? Noticing there is ALOT of cannabis troubleshooting tips available but overall plants look great so moved the light bit. Alternating between plain tap water and the Fox Farm nutritions. Did LST during week 3 and 4 and now plants are really taking shape!
After just sort of 5 weeks at 18 hours light, the photoperiod RQS Mimosa plants are at 16". I'm starting to worry about the 'stretch' of the sativa plants will grow too close to lights. So I switched to 12/12 at this time. Started the Fox Farm flowering nuts about this time as well. Photos here are bit into week 5... but wow now we can see the starting of the flowering, so cool.
