Hey hey all. Haven’t done a diary in a while. Have done about 6 grows since my last post. This is my second grow in Michigan. Growing a Sherb Cream Pie clone a Bonez cut in elite living soil by the soil makers. I made the mistake last grow of using 5 gallon pots with living soil. Plants were depleted by 2 weeks into flower. This time around I am going to use a single 10 gallon pot. I got the clone a week ago, ripped the Jawn out of its block(lost a lot of roots), and put it in a small pot so that it can develop a root system for the next 2 weeks or so. I mycod up the roots so clone only looked dead for a day before it started taking water from soil. If you are ever waiting for roots to start taking water you can always spray them with water. They will come back within minutes. Because soil was depleted I added 6 pounds of build a soil 3.0 kit and mixed her up and than top dressed with kelp meal. In the pics you can actually see the bokashi fermenting the kelp meal and most of it has already disappeared which is cool to see how good healthy soil is. Once soil is in pot in a week or so I’m going to top dress with some worm castings and plant clover and buckwheat to keep moisture in and nitrogen fix. Am always looking for feedback from other growers. God bless

Been a little over two weeks since my last posting but since than my build a soil 3.0 kit came in which I mixed with 10 gallons of soil. I also mixed in a gallon of worm castings. As of today the soil has had two weeks to get everything broken down. Two days ago I planted some clover and buckwheat seeds and threw on another 1/2” of castings on the whole surface. To cover the seeds Transplanted her about an hour ago which went well. Myco’d up her roots threw her in and filled in the small gaps with castings. Also got her net up after the transplant. I’m not one to usually scrog but my tent is only 60” and supposedly these sherb cream pies like to stretch so I’m scrog to hopefully get another 12-16” out of her. Also cranked the light up to 60%. Looking forward to how she progresses. I expect her to do a lot better this transplant compared to the first transplant now that she has a root ball. Thank you guys for reading and God bless

End of week 5 since transplanting into a tiny clay pot and end of week 2 since going into her 15 gallon home. Cover crop growing so nicely I cut the buckwheat today to let the clover grow on through. Growth is absolutely amazing. Only issue I have is I Had some slight yellowing in tips so I dialed back the lights and new leaves are looking fine so I think all is well. So far only been giving water. No teas because of how many castings went into mix and top dress. Going to be top dressing with build a soil craft 4 days before flower flip as well as doing the Final Cut on the buckwheat. God bless

Last week of veg. She’s growing way too quick, she’s only 21 inches from light and is showing signs of light stress in upper leaves. Light is currently at 40% power. Flipped her to 13/11 light cycle on the 5th so she should start flowering soon. I also bumped light to 60% to prevent too much stretch. Even though 40% was causing yellow tips I’m comfortable running her up to 60% because with the decreased day cycle she’ll be getting less of a Dailey Light Interval so she shouldn’t stress, plus she’ll want more DLI in bloom. She’s only been in the 15 gallon for 3 weeks total, so I’m not going to top dress yet. I plan on giving her build a flower top dress in a week or two once she starts using up the rest of the nutrients. If she starts showing deficiency early I’ll just foliage feed her some water soluble organics. Which should show improvements within hours

Plant is growing good. Stretching like crazy. I was able to move the fan back to get another 4 inches out of the light. Starting to see signs of flowers so hopefully she stops stretching soon. Despite getting significantly closer to the light the yellowing is decreasing significantly as she wants more energy. I’m going to be doing small defoliation over the next week or so, I want to clean up the bottom for better airflow. I may do a bigger defoliation at week 3 of flower but I generally don’t. God bless

Week two of flower start to finish went well. Crazy stretching. I ended up super cropping her to gain a few extra inches which went well. Also begun defoliating just a little tiny bit. Nothing but water right now. God Bless

3rd week of flower finished. Finally done the stretch. Super glad we super cropped regretting we didn’t go lower on the stems. She’s close to the light but seems really happy and no signs of burn. I think higher temps in grow room and hotter soil is helping her with the extra light. Still giving her nothing but water. Next week I’ll give her another 1/2 cup of craft blend. Noticed fungus gnats which is super unfortunate. Doesn’t seem too bad yet, but they are def established. Covered top with sand which keeps adults from digging and larvae from escaping. Ordered BTI which will kill the gnat larvae but keep my worms and microbes safe. Hopefully in 2 weeks they will be gone. At this point in the grow I won’t be doing a whole lot other than maybe one more fert. Nothing but water, she’ll defoliate herself and she’ll do it quick starting from the bottom up. God bless

Plant growing healthy. Was able to water her with some BTI so hopefully fungus gnats begin to improve. She was starting to show very slight deficiencies so I gave her some craft blend. I’m honestly not sure why she is okay being this close to the light. The cola 1 inch from the light is showing slight browning and some yellowing but she’s been that close for over a week. I’m going to monitor closely and if signs of stress get worse I’m going to dial back light from 60-40%. I’m slowly defoliating every two days when I water but I usually let these girls defoliate them selves as needed. Going to add an extra fan here this week to make sure her airflow is proper. Happy growing and god bless

Plant growing phenomenally. Buds are developing. BTI completely rid me of fungus gnats. Struggling with humidity at the moment. Regularly around 70%. Added a fan at the top and the middle of my canopy and it has increased airflow pretty substantially. Still defoliating slightly each watering especially making sure there are no overlapping leaves I moved my exhaust and filter outside of the tent so I could raise the light a few more inches. The lights are unfortunately running at 40% to avoid light stress, tops of canopy’s are getting around 1600 but 20 inches down will only be getting around 400. Smells just like peninsula gardens sherb cream pie. Frosty as can be. Sugar leaves have distinct dense Trichomes on edges. Am beyond excited to start seeing the strains deep purple and distinct fox tailing. Nothing but water and a little shot of recharge to keep the soil healthy. UPDATE AUG 13TH Got just a couple degrees cooler last night and came back to some beautiful looking flowers. Happy growing and God bless.

mine loves the smell but doesn't eat the plant parts (: maybe your cat is looking for something to chew because of the hairs in her stomach. many people have special plants just for their cats so they can eat them ☺️

Plant growing phenomenally. Gave her 1/2 inch of build a flower earlier this week to get us to the finish line. Plan on giving her a 1/4 cup of craft blend this upcoming week so she gets something water soluble. Been doing a little defoliation, nothing crazy. Turned up fans as humidity has been high. Crazy how leaves are on this thing though. Been thorough in making sure there hasn’t been any Powdery mildew. I think the airflow+hepa filter in lung room combo is helping with any chances of mold Bud is crazy loud. Smells of strong runtz and apple pie, just touching a single sugar leaf makes my finger sticky. Would be a perfect strain for oil makers. Buds have gotten noticeably fatter since last week as well. Excited to see them continue to develop. God bless

Another good week of growth. Unfortunately did experience a two day power outage so had so airflow and humidity in the 90s. Making this post a week late and no signs of PM or bud rot so seems like she will skate by for now At this point the buds are just developing and fattening. Defoliating a little here and there. Also still treating fungus gnats with BtI. I’ve upped the dose to hopefully take them out. God bless

Start of 8 weeks into flower. Buds are really starting to develop. Smells is absolutely amazing, mix of diesel, grapes, and vanilla. Color development is beautiful. Calyxes are starting to fatten. At this point the build of flower she has gotten 2 weeks ago should be pushing her to the finish line so she will be receiving nothing but water and BTI. Been removing dead leaves but she is not dropping many despite her size. Really shows how big of a difference healthy soil makes in their end stages of life. She will be chopped happy, not clinging on. I’m expecting another two weeks for her Trichomes to whiten. I did have to support some of her branches with string. I didn’t do a good job supporting her side branches early on and it is affecting her now. Might be the most excited I’ve ever been for a harvest. God bless everyone and happy growing

Plant is growing amazing. Smells amplifying. Trichomes getting white and amber. Super excited to harvest this. Going to be harvesting in the next week currently on day 63 as of writing. I’m going to cut her at the base and hang her upside down. Bought a new 3x3 tent so I have somewhere to dry her. God bless everyone and happy growing Update plant cut September 11th. Should have harvest week update in two weeks

Holy shit they weren’t joking when they said 3x stretch. I had to super crop this thing multiple times in flower and top her In flower in some spots. The spots where she was topped are the largest and densest buds so she can handle stress very well. Despite having fungus gnats she never showed any signs of stress from them. Super happy with her speed and overall performance. She is beyond resinous and smelled of gas and vanilla most of her flowering. I will be growing this one again in the future!

Chopped Wednesday the 11th. Trimmed and began curing the 21st. 4oz of super dense sticky bud. 1 pound of high grade trim and 2 oz of low grade trim. This plant was truly strange the places it chose to grow Trichomes. Stay tuned because I will be making hash with the high grade trim. Also will be uploading smoke score in two weeks Thank you to anyone who followed and god bless!

Beautiful Flowers, Clean canopy, looks amazing ! How high did you set your mini-sun when at 18 hours?
RatmanJR
RatmanJRcommented6 months ago
@hightech316, thank you so much and admit-tingly I set it as high as possible. I always let my lights run as high as possible and let the plants grow into them. I don’t mind doing this due to the size of the grow my electricity doesn’t suffer too much. If you are concerned about maxing input into output for profit cocoforcannabis has par ratings for this light at different heights. You can use his review to get your height almost perfect.
