Week 3 went great for our little Blue Dreams. Samh is standing at about 4 inches and Mabon is standing at about 3 inches. Both plants seem to be growing at a healthy rate and haven’t shown any signs of problems yet.

When do you guys recommend to start training your plants (topping,LST,HST) and what do you guys think are the best tricks for getting a higher yeild.

If we are talking about an auto strain, then the window of oportunity to TOP is very narrow, after the 4th node, why? because after the 5th pair of leaves fully opens, then flowering starts. The time to TOP a regular strain depends on how many plants per sq ft you are going to grow; I would suggest trying to get between 8 to 16 tops per sq ft, that would mean TOPing above the 4th node at the very earliest or the 8th node; LST should start as soon as the stems are long enough to tying them down. HST, I assume you mean supper cropping I use as a mean when some TOP (usually the main one) needs their height be brought under control and is not responding well to LST. The best tip for a good yield would be to use all 3 trainings to keep a canopy as even as possible so all tops are at the same height; get the lights as close as possible while keeping th eheat in check; have a good wet / dry cycle (4 to 5 days is what I aim for my waterings to last).

what mudbug said is correct, you need to listen or you can write off this grow as "an experiment" , would be shame because in my opinion the only thing better than learning something is getting mad bud while learning something - up to you growmie ! 🚀

Hey Krash i see you mentioned last week that they had a recent transfer and sometimes that takes a bit of an adjustment period...there are things to help with transplant shock like kelp/seaweed extract or some mycorrhizal products(many transplant aid bottles contain this or you can get it alone, and it will help make very happy healthy roots.) I was curious though about inside your tent, do you have some fans other than exhaust types? If not, since you went into plastic pots I'd say up the airflow and maybe that'll help with the soil drying between waterings better. Make sure theres good drainage in your pots. And lastly if you can up the overall temps by even 5 degrees that would be an incredible help i think, not only more comfortable but also help raise humidity a tiny bit. Im sure theyll calm down here soon and hopefully some of our tips might help speed it up. Good job with the grow ✌️ happy new year

Your plant is root bound #1 i would never use the plastic pots your roots cant breath i would get sum cloth bags are air pots and transplant them asap u need to be in at min 3 gal once u transplant them u will be impressed then your watering issues will go away if these plants aren't transplanted soon this will be a waste of your time the clock is ticking ✍️✍️✍️✍️👍👍👍👍

Hi @KrashAndBurn ! Auto: top at 3rd node then give the branches some space by pulling them away from the main stem. Regular: same process but you can wait to see node n°5 then top at node n°3, this will dramatically speed up the recovery and new growth should come out very quickly. There's no magic trick yet to get a higher yield, just a combination of good cares, good environment, continuous surveillance and a complete prevention strategy. If I could give you one "magic" advice, I would speak about VPD (Vapour Pressure Deficit), and the plant breathing/sweating process, this chart will give you a good idea of what it is: http://www.just4growers.com/media/23631/vpd_2degree.gif, basically try to stick into the green zone and you will have a successful yield 😎 Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

Looks like overwatering to me also. I'd cut back on your watering routine. Allow the top inch or 2 of soil to dry out before watering again. You can stick your finger in the soil half way between the main stem and the edge of the pot to feel if the soil is wet or dry. If wet, wait to water. In veg I usually don't need to water more than every 5-7 days. Backing down on your watering routine should help a lot! Good luck!
