Popped some new beans last week and these are the results so far... I haven't started with nutes yet. I'm going to add some microbial additives next week to help develop the root zone. This was a complimentary seed from the seed bank so I'll be growing this out without any real training. My basic plan is to do a couple autoflower runs during the winter and spring months before switching back to photoperiod plants.
Cruising along here in early veg. It is so dry this time a year that my humidifier is struggling to keep moisture in the air. I've got it stabilized between 55-65% RH. Before I purchased the humidifier the environment was between 35-40%. The luxury of this grow is that I have only one plant to track and was able to take a photo 4 days in a row. It is pretty interesting to have a side by side visualization that demonstrates the explosive growth. The next node should have 5 point fan leaves. I had some stretching issues so I lowered the lights this week from 18" above the canopy to 12". Next week I'll start to add some microbes to the feed.
Went from 2 nodes to 3 in a matter of 4 days. Started to feed this girl with some microbial nutes to encourage root zone development. Still fighting the dry environment with the humidifier running full speed. I'm able to keep the RH around 60% when the furnace isn't running. The plant looks really healthy despite the slow start.
On day 23 we stopped using the 216w T5 lighting and started to use the 315w Cmh lighting. For this run I will start out with the light closer to the canopy and raise it as time goes by or as needed. I also plan on using an 18/6 lighting schedule. Once flowering starts I'll switch to Advanced Nutrients but I'll use 1/4 strength. I did not top this plant. I only had one seed and wanted to keep the growth natural.
The plant is filling out very nice. One thing to note is that there is no way this will be done in 3 more weeks. It appears that it's starting to transition from veg to bloom this week. I'll be switching the nutes over to bloom feeding.
This pheno was starting to show pre-flower right at the end of the week. I'm not really impressed with the speed of this one. Right now it's on par with a photo period strain for growth.
Flowers are starting to develop finally. I hit them with a foliar spray right before the last photo. Judging by the size and development of the flowers I still have 6-8 weeks left. She stretched out to a nice size of 36".
Swapped out Bud Ignitor for Big Bud this week. Bud sites are starting to fill in. Defoliated a bit to allow more light penetration to the lower sites. I watered her on day 55. The stress from dehydration is visible. I will start to increase the frequency that I water her next week.
Increased the Big Bud feeding this week. Looking over the photos it doesn't appear that anything spectacular happened this week. It is almost as if she has stagnated in growth. No signs of nutrient burn so hopefully she packs on some weight soon.
The video added includes a variety of strains. C4-matic, Green Crack auto, Stardawg auto and the Californian Snow auto. The Californian snow is the 4th plant zoomed in during the video.
Increased the Big Bud feeding in hopes to increase the bud size. Things are filling out nicely, however, some of the fan leaves are starting to fade. Makes me think this is a bad omen. Most of the pistils are still white so there is hope. This beautiful girl was an excellent candidate for LST.
Some of the fan leaves started to fade this week. I didn't think the buds were very developed so I increased the nitrogen and added some microbial additives. Packed on some weight at the end of this week. I'll switch out Big Bud for Overdrive with next week's feeding. I might have to pull out the yoyos for this one. She's getting a little top heavy as well. I have to be careful removing her from underneath the lights to take photos.
This girl continued to fade out but at the end of the week the trichomes were barely cloudy. Peace! I finally defoliated a bunch of the dead leaves. Oh, and I finally pulled out the tape measure. She's 44" tall. Google it if you need a metric conversion...
I was hoping she was ready this week but the trichomes tell another story. We're starting to stress out the stalks and the bud weight is causing her to lean over. Smells really good. We'll check her again in 3 days to see if she's closer to harvest.
@LockDownGrow, nice i topped one of mine in the recent diary and hoping it does just that, i was hoping it would knuckle? but i snapped it completely off haha! Still bouncey and happy though.
I think also it matters how much of a variance there is in the ambient room - my ambient room is 19~20c and 60RH and my groom is 55% currently and 29~30c and my substrate is 25c, so if i fully open the door to do the chores, it drops to about 25c air temp, 50% humidity and substrate drops to 20~21c, so in fairness i think the less variance there is in the ambient room when opening will mean less slowing/stunting... similar case for you or?
@OrganicConnoisseur420, yours looks really nice too ,
I accidentally hst my top stem on my blackberry at week 4 or 5 and at the time I was like shit !
But she loved it , didn't slow , didn't droop , and now have lots of tops
@LockDownGrow, fully agree with you, im on my 3rd grow now and have definitely noticed this, the 1st and 2nd grow i couldnt leave them alone, probs in the tent 3~4 times a day on the regular, now i literally just open once every 2~3 days and they just give massive growth, check the diary out

@LockDownGrow, Yeah I agree that it is. I try to think of a genetic as a family with the different phenos being sisters. I notice more variation with autoflowers than with photoperiod strains.
@LockDownGrow, I didn't strip anything off of this girl at all. That's her in her natural state. I will, however, be removing all the dead leaves sometime before the next watering. Cheers!
What you think about this strain bro ? I was thinking about ordering some just to try it out says taste like sour apples ! Let me know how she goes ! Best of luck on this grow bro hoping you get a plentiful harvest !
-Happy Growing!
@Sgtoso, For sure bro ! Im very excited to see her all decked out in flowers ! It's going to be a tasty site !
Thanks for taking the time to respond
-Happy Growing!
@The_Projexx, It is staying in veg a little longer than I'd like, at least this pheno is... Next week's update she's definitely flowering now at 45 days. I like the structure and the thickness of the stalks. The flower node spacing is average. I think she has the potential to stack on some decent weight. I'm looking forward to testing the terpene profile when she's finished!
Nice journal mate, I've just started some Cali Snow myself and hoping to see some nice flowering like on yours! I've just entered week 5 on my oldest so I'm a while off compared to you, I have followed to keep updated as looking forward to check out your harvest! Peace
@@grzesiek, Depends on the plant. I didn't defoliate this one much if at all. She stretched out really fast and I'm getting decent light penetration all the way down to the pot.
i assume that is an autoflower...............................how do you know that it is a 4th week of flower now?.....................................hiram bullock
@@grzesiek, You are correct that it is an autoflower. I observed the pre-flowers develop and watched the plant transition from veg to flower. That happened 4 weeks ago.
