DAY 0, APRIL 7 2024:
Soaked jiffy pellets in Ecothrive Biosys before planting seeds straight in them and containing them in a propagator with seed mat. Excited to start the process again
DAY 8, APRIL 15:
Only 1/3 seeds have popped. I’m putting this down to a silly mistake I made with the heat mat, I won’t go into it but worry not because we have 1 healthy seedling! I’m too impatient to wait and take cuttings so I’m germinating some more Barney’s seeds (Gelato 45). I transplanted the 1 survivor into a ~1l pot to establish itself before going into the living soil!
Transplanted into big pot & topped this week. Using a little bit of my cover crop as a mulch. All went well! Apologies for my short comments, just trying to catch up with posting for now. 💚
She is growing so vigorously with so many growth tips that the new growth is slightly lime green/yellow. Nothing to worry about imo, after a few days they all get their lovely colour.
Can already tell this plant isn’t going to stretch much if at all. The colas around the radius of the plant seem to be stronger and taller, despite my training efforts. All other Mimosa strains I’ve grown from Barney’s Farm have been like this, o matter the cross. Very impressed with the consistency across the phenos! Yield won’t be amazing but the nugs will be.
Pistils are coming in strong. Seriously, going off how my other plants looked at this stage, I’d say she’s on week F4 at least. But nope! Just a non-stretching, seriously-flowering pheno.
This girl is very short, but really packing them on. No complaints! Got a lot of posting to catch up on, so that's the reason behind my short comments.
Starting to see some brown pistils, and the trichomes seem to be mostly on the flowers. Won’t be much trim from her, but the buds look bloody beautiful.
Basically just waiting for the plant to ripen at this point. Interested to see what kind of yield she produces, as she’s really small but with great looking buds. Last top-dressing this week as I’ve run out.
Waiting… still. Probably would have normally chopped by now, but I want the plant to tell me when she’s done. Want her to put as much weight on as possible.
Not long now. Very excited! The smell is subtle but lovely. Need to work on getting my terps up, either with better genetics or a better environment… or both.
Not the frostiest plant, but the nugs are definitely dense. Will have to make sure my drying conditions are perfect as to avoid bud rot. Sooooo friggin excited.
Final week. We’re finally here! Felt like it’s taken ages, but the time has eventually arrived. Will chop on 18th August. A homegrown smoke is definitely needed.
