German Balcony Autoflower Grow 2024

maxterps Everything germinated without problems and was directly planted in the final pot and watered. The weather isn't really cooperating yet (lots of rain, little sun), but on cold nights below 10 degrees, I brought them inside. For clarification: 2x 20l Air Pot, 1x 38l Air Pot (experiment with two plants, but one was removed later)

maxterps The plants are doing well, the weather has been quite sunny. On 05/18, I had to improvise a kind of bird deterrent, as some were trying to pull out the young plants, a Gorilla Cookies was lying next to the pot (was removed later).

maxterps One Gorilla Cookies was removed, it got shocked from the bird attack and hasn't grown much anymore. The remaining one shows mutated growth, which doesn't bother me; I'm curious to see how it develops. The other two are also doing very well, without any problems. At the end of the week, I fertilized for the first time as a top dress (before that, Light Mix and worm compost), a mix of Bio Grow and Bloom, since I won't be fertilizing anymore until flowering. I started with LST and tied the plants down.

maxterps Back from vacation, it rained and stormed all week. The plants were covered in snail trails, and the stems of the two Fastbuds were heavily chewed up; I wasn't sure how well they would handle it. I renewed the LST ties, but due to the damage, only very lightly and without much tension. I had to remove snails daily, but it never seemed to end, always more leaves/stems getting chewed. In the meantime, I've applied some organic snail bait.

maxterps The plants have recovered very well despite the continued bad weather. However, there is a noticeable size difference with the Mimosa x Orange Punch, which wasn't eaten. The Strawberry Gorilla had the hardest time and could barely support the weight of the plant. The LST is slowly showing results, and especially the Mimosa is developing well in width. All are growing very robustly with thick branches, which can be attributed to the rough weather with a lot of wind. The last few days have seen more sun, and they are developing well; pre-flowering is becoming noticeable.

maxterps The weather is slowly getting better, but there's still a lot of rain. Pest infestation: fungus gnats, thrips I ordered nematodes to get rid of the pests (no neem oil since they are already in bloom). Plants are spreading out, it's going well. Fun fact: The Mimosa has self-topped twice on the side branches!

maxterps Exponential growth, flowering stretch is on, also thanks to the good weather! Nematodes for fungus gnats: mixed into the watering water and poured in. Nematodes for thrips: applied to the leaves and kitchen paper, already munching away ;) Update: No pests visible anymore, all plants in great health, growing like crazy! Both plants in the 20l pot are already further along in flowering, Gorilla Cookies in the 38l pot is taking its time and stretching the most. Green House Feeding Bloom Topdress

maxterps The flowering stretch is almost done, I'm very happy with how they've developed. The two plants in 20l are at least a week ahead of the big one in the 38l pot, as that one is still focusing on the stretch. Mimosa and Strawberry Gorilla are already producing really nice buds and quite a bit of resin. I think the buds of the Strawberry Gorilla will turn out beautifully purple, I'm excited to see! Right now there's a lot of rain in Germany, so during flowering I'll cover them when I can to prevent mold. No pests have come back. Update: The buds are developing well, but I'm worried about the heavy rain/high humidity. When it rains, I usually cover them with umbrellas, but of course not 100 percent. The smell has increased a lot this week, and I've already received some complaints, so I'll have to think of something different for next year. ;) The weeks aren't quite right, just pay attention to the date :)

maxterps A switch between humid 30 degrees and cold rain is unfortunately not the conditions I hoped for in my first legal season, but we take it as it comes! The plants still look happy and are developing great, however, during a plant check, I discovered the first bud rot :/ so far only on the Strawberry Gorilla, which also has the thickest buds. I immediately removed the affected flowers and placed the plant a bit separately. In the meantime, I have to say that I am really convinced of Green House Feeding Bio. I always water with rainwater without pH adjustment, without any problems or deficiency symptoms. 👍
