LSD-25 | First Time Grower

DansFlow After the first week, I decided to transplant the ladies into the fabric pots provided by Spiderfarmer, as the coco alone just wasn't cutting it, and after various research, it seems it's better to plant the ladies directly into the final pots. In the meantime, I raised the light to 50cm, but that’s when they started stretching. However, it got too close, leading to what seemed like leaf burning. So, I dialed it down to only 40% dimming and brought it back down to 30cm. That helped. But well, it was probably more about the soil and the watering. With the coco, they seemed to struggle a bit since it’s low in nutrients, and our tap water has crazy pH levels (7.5 + the deathly lime of doom). I mixed 400ml of water with 2ml of universal fertilizer in homeopathic doses and distributed a total of 200ml over the 3 pots in 3 days. This improved various deficiency symptoms, even though the water was still blocking metabolism. Since we have a spring area, I also watered with water that has elevated levels of calcium, magnesium, sulfate, and iron. Maybe 40ml per plant in the last 3 days, and lo and behold, the plants were able to reduce the symptoms of iron and magnesium deficiency and are on a good path! Why so complicated? The soil and fertilizer weren't there yet. Logistics, you know. Only one of the plants had already rooted all the way to the bottom in the starter pots. For transplanting: As recommended, I laid a "thin" drainage layer about 3-4 cm thick. Not clay pebbles, but a "bio planting granulate alternative," whatever that is. Clay pebbles were out, apparently out of style, because that was a 2000s thing. As the main soil, I used BioBizz Light Mix. The soil sinks quite a bit when watered, so I had to top it off with similar soil from Compo before I placed the plants. Let’s see how many cm it sinks further :D Next time, maybe a thicker drainage layer would be better. I hope it’s running smoothly now; in case of doubt, the new seeds are already here :)

DansFlow The plants have now been growing for a week with 50cm spacing and 80% dimming. At the beginning and middle of the week, each plant was fertilized with 0.5L of water using TriPart to ease the transition into the BioBizz-Light-Mix soil, since the coconut soil is very low in nutrients. Watered a bit in between with stale tap water. The circulation fan is permanently set to level 2/10. The exhaust fan is at level 3/10 due to humidity levels between 65% and 75%. Unfortunately, the ambient air didn't go any lower. Temperatures range between 19°C (at night) and 26°C (during the day). The strongest one (in the middle): Grows without major problems. The slow one (on the left): Grows slower, but also came a bit later. The heavy one (on the right): Same watering schedule as the others, same soil, same tent. Either it really has trouble taking up water and nutrients, or there is a very pronounced phenotype growing here. If its leaves didn't often look like they were dying or if it didn't have another slump, it would be quite an interesting sight. Maybe it will pick up.

DansFlow Links (The Slow One): The lower flower clusters were slightly bent down and to the side on day 18 to get some light. Since the shoots were also soon at 70 degrees and developing long, I thought it made sense to force them a bit horizontal for now. I definitely need to try this again with firmer ties. The anchoring in the soil didn’t hold for long. Because the fan leaves in the upper area started to cover massively. I will continue to learn training on her! Middle (The Strong One): Here I trimmed 2 of the upper fan leaves that were covering the shoots directly below. Also on day 18. I didn’t want to remove too much, as various posts recommended not to trim more than 10-15% of the plant. LST wasn’t possible at that time since all their shoots were growing horizontally and were very compact. I’ll see if I continue to trim here or also apply LST. Both were watered during the week with a total of 2 liters each, with a 1L mix of well water + distilled and 1L rainwater + nutrient mix. Right (Doofy): I only watered her 2 more times with 0.5 liters of distilled each, as I assume the early fertilizer was too strong for her due to a damaged root. She is improving, but not as quickly as the other two. Hope dies last! Otherwise, everything is easy. At the beginning of the week, there was still 70-80% humidity in the tent due to the surroundings + weather, which has now regulated to an average of 65%. Air circulation is constantly on the lowest setting. The lamp is now running at 100%, so 200 watts. The exhaust is now at level 4. Level 3 was probably a bit too weak for the humidity.

DansFlow The Slow One (left): Shot up to 54cm! Had to remove 3-4 old fan leaves because they were having issues and covering the shoots. Also tied down 8 shoots with LST to give everything a bit more space, light, and air. In pre-flowering for about 3-4 days now. The Strong One (middle): Grew from 23 to 34 CM. Removed a few fan leaves here as well. The LST didn’t seem to agree with her, so I’m leaving her alone for now. Also in pre-flowering for about 2-3 days. Doofy (right): Now 30 CM tall from 15cm. Significantly less leaf growth, shoots, etc., but unfortunately further along in flowering than the others (I think she just wants to get it over with 😄) All 3 plants were watered with the recommended nutrient dose for PreFlowering in rainwater, 1 liter a day seemed to go quite well. Doofy only got half because the soil was still overwatered. 👉👉👉 TIP: There are so-called fabric clips at the local discount store (EuroShop/Woolworth) (how fitting the name). They hold super tight on the pot edge, and the holes for threading are just big enough for the binding wire to fix itself. Save yourself the hole punching, it makes you much more flexible! 12 pieces for 2 euros 👍

DansFlow I had to create some new conditions in the grow tent. Unfortunately, I had to move Doofy to the windowsill because she was just too exposed to the shading and territory battles from the other two plants. The distance of 50cm from the light refers to the average leaf and flower canopy. Aside from a few yellow tips (probably due to over-fertilization), all the plants are doing well. And they drink an incredible amount of water. 2 liters a day is nothing, and I probably need to increase that even more. I've been watering (still) with rainwater + nutrient mix. The high humidity is stressing me out. I really want and need to avoid powdery mildew, so I got a dehumidifier (another €130 gone). At least I can generally use it well. Here and there, I've done a bit of LST training, and ultimately put a ring around both plants in the tent to tidy things up and create some space. I decided against a net because I still want to be able to move and remove the plants. I also removed a few fan leaves, either because they were already weak and yellow or because they were covering lower flower clusters. The "Slow One": Now 100cm tall. Shot up like crazy. It transitioned into flowering around day 32. I can't raise the grow LED any higher now. So the top shoot will either grow sideways, finally stop, or dry up miserably. The Sturdy One: It also made a jump to 70cm in height. Otherwise unremarkable. The flowering phase began for her on day 34. Doofy: Still doesn't like water. She gets, if anything, 500ml of water every 2-3 days. The pot stays heavy. Small, bushy, and now with stronger flowers.

DansFlow Doofy: Everything is going well on the windowsill. Not much is happening. A great subject for a still life. The Slow One (103cm): Blooming really beautifully with dark purple tones that have gotten lighter over time due to the formation of trichomes. In the meantime, I had to enrich the nutrient solution with TriPart-Grow again, as the leaves shouldn't be yellow yet. The Strong One (89cm): It's coming along, but somehow the buds look grayer than with the Slow One. General: They're drinking 2.5 liters a day now, except for Doofy with 0.5 liters every 2-3 days. Unfortunately, tap water with pH-. The dehumidifier is really struggling to keep the humidity below 50% due to a lot of rain, running 12-14 hours a day. Unfortunately, it hasn't rained heavily enough all at once; otherwise, I would have used that as watering water 😒 But they have finally stopped growing upwards, so I can leave everything as it is without worry. Other than that, there's really not much to report. It's going better than expected 😍
