Germinated in paper towels, and then put them in red cups. Medium is peatmoss with perlite and some homemade compost. Light is one Spiderfarmer SF1000, they received about 200 ppfd in the first week. I gave them 1g of greenhouse bio grow each, some enhancer along with mycorrizha and off to the races we go...
They got new shoes; 4l pots. I added some living biochar to the medium. They got another 7-8 g of biogrow each, as well as S. F. Nematodes, and 2 tablespoons of Kashi blend. The ppfd was about 500. Also I began some LST training.
Final Pots: 4x 12,5 airpots. I gave them 37,5 g of biobloom, mychorizza, living biochar, some L.A.B.,and two tablespoons of Kashi blend and compost. While training them hard I accidently topped one of the cupcakes and one of the lemon oranges. I defoliated a bit and used the leaves as mulch. PPFD between 500 and 600. Almost ready for Flower.
Flipped to flower! (A few days before I gave them a slight lollipopping) Added a net for training in stretch. Also some nematodes again but apart from that I let the plants do their thing. I let the plants grow in to the light they got approximately 700 ppfd.
Towards the end of week 3 I aised the ppfd to about 1000. The girls are getting really big really fast and they are not done yet... Could become a problem in the tent since the one I'm currently using is 70x70x170 cm.... I added another net to keep them down. Since the flowers are forming and ist Day 21 i added a tiny bit of a mineral phosphor boost for yield and i lollipopped.
Stretch is finally down. Since the plants are really big (with pots 155 cm) I decided to upgrade the tent to 70x140x200cm. I did add once more some mineral phosphor.
Was on vacation for a week therefor no pics. Spent the night before leaving setting up the new tent (finally!) with the new tent came another sf1000, so now I'm working with 300w on one square meter. Might not have been necessary for this grow, but for the future that's great. After I put the plants in the new tent all plants flopped and fell it was a fucking hustle putting them in there up right standing.
While the cupcakes live life fast and look amazing, I'm not too happy with the performance of the lemon oranges. But the terps are great and it's still a few weeks to go so let's see.
Beginning of week 8 Plants are already starting to fade. When i Look at the blueberrys they could already be Harvested quite soon. The trichomes are fading to brown and they carry wheight! Really love this Genetic so far.
The lemon orange is really interesting and new to me, never saw a bud Structure like the one in #2. Still waiting for them to get heavy but The terps are amazing sweet citrus.
They still drink their 1,5l of water each quick.
Starting to think about the next run - california octane and kollie man kush are set but im not sure whether to pick gazzurple, fortune cookie or kings Juice... or a clone from last run? Cant wait to Use 3 plants in 20l Pots in the big tent!
Beginning of week 9 the temps are getting lower after a real hot week. Plants getting colorful and fade but still push new pistils and gain wheight. Thought i'd harvest soon but ill give them at least another 10 days. They still drink a lot of water, i give them at least 6 liters every 2nd day.
The cupcakes look and smell amazing, really sweet, sour and especially creamy/cakey! Big dense sticky buds with lots of trichomes even on the stems. Great genetic.
The lemon orange seems to be a bit picky and tricky to grow, did not expect that! Really nice exotic terps but not a good producer. Dont know what i should have done different with them, Others had grows with this genetic...
But lets see the outcome
Day 64 of Flower! Plants dont want to be harvested yet, they still gain weight and push a lot of new pistils. The cupcakes are getting really Floppy and foxtail beautifuly, these girls just wont stop! So frosty, so heavy and dense, so colorful i cant wait to smoke them... im really happy with how similiar both phenos turned out and amazed by the fact that they are exactly what humboldt described and promised. For sure one of the best genetics i ever grew. Still smells like cake batter with fresh blueberrys and some sour aromas. Fucking fire!
Lemon orange #1 is not gaining wheight at all but smells so much like citrus candy that it makes my mouth water. L.O. #2 carrys a lot more and smells very similiar but a Skunky Note makes the smell a lot more complex and its quite unique. I like it it. But i do not get over the fact that she is ugly af :D
Not quite sure when the harvest will be since they are still going so Hard. I hope they are ready in 7 days because then we will get pretty low temps for July also rain is forecasted. I wont get better conditions in summer than this for drying
Day 71 of flower. Lemon oranges are ready to be harvested but the cupcakes still need a few days. They are foxtailing beatifuly and push new pistils which are slowly getting brown/orange. Tent is really loud and i sneeze sometimes when its open. I plan to harvest around day 75 or so, next time it will be the harvest details.
Amazing plant to grow, it is very easy, beatiful and vigorous. Also it is fitting 100% what HSC described. Sadly it is not too pungent. Insane amount of trichomes. Really good producer. Nice light smoke. I feel uplifted when i smoke it which i did not expected. The blueberry terps are defenitely noticable backed by sweet cream. So for blueberry lovers this is a nice Variation to try. One Thing you should know about this strain is that it gets really big!
The cupcakes got harvested in the morning after 80 days of flower. I hang the whole plants upside down in the grow room and let it dry for 10 to 14 days.
Not easy to grow but the terps are fire! She is really tasty sweet orange terps and kicks like a horse. Does not yield much though. I would grow this strain again to do it better next time. Sadly i got some budrot which i noticed on harvest day... I cut quite alot away and still got 75 grams dry. I would recomend this strain for citruslovers.
@taprootArmy, I really like the cupcakes from a growing Perspective, great plant structure and easy to grow apart from the huge stretch. Smells like sweet cake with bit of fuel. The lemon orange smells like a propper exotic but probably wont yield much. Also i popped new seeds today: cali. Octane, fortune cookie and slightly stoopid Collie man kush! Any experiences with these strains?
@chirok35, yup they exploded! sadly i did not take any more pics... basically i trained them to be small and fill the space, so i just tied them down and bended a lot.
