Thanks to the #CanG in Germany, I can finally get growing! I let the seed float on top of 250 ml of distilled water for 24 h until I gave her a tap her so she would sink to the bottom. About 12 h later, her tap root started poking out, at which point I planted her directly into a 15 l Gronest fabric pot, filled with 6 liters of substrate with BioGrow (4 g/l) and 9 liters with BioBloom (4 g/l) mixed in. I sprinkled some Mycorrhizae into the hole and gave the BioEnhancer (1 g/l) into the water used for germination before using it to water her. Using a humidity dome, it took 3 days until the newborn seedling emerged from the soil.

I kept the pot near a window throughout week one to protect the seedling from harsh conditions. In hindsight, I should have brought her outside sooner than I did since sunlight supply was limited. For now, I only watered using a pump sprayer whenever the surface felt dry to the touch. On day two, I panicked because she grew facing downward. I was so busy browsing the web, unsure of what to do that I forgot to take a photo that day. Turns out the membrane was stuck and preventing the leaves from opening. A few drops of water and a few hours of recovery time solved this issue, as seen on day 3. My seedling had a little bit of a rough start but that's fine. I still have much to learn, after all!

In week 2, I increased the water amount to 500 ml. Starting now, I'll poke my finger into the soil to check if it's dry beneath the surface before I water again. To support her root growth, I added 0.36 g of Great White (5 g/7 l) to the first watering of the week. On day 12, my plant tripped over as a result of the lack of sunlight during week 1, hence the crooked photo. I used a bit of soil to fix her into place. You can see on day 14 that she's already stretching her first three-fingered leaves!

Another week, another increase in water amount. This week, I'm doubling it to 1 l. I added 1g of the BioEnhancer to the first watering of the week. I'm happy to report that I went a full week without any real issues. On day 17, I experimented with the Leaf-Coat spray from BioBizz to keep pests away. I don't think she took the foliar spray too well so I won't be using it before week 4 moving forward.

Yet again, I increased the amount of water I give her by 500 ml. I also gave her 1,07 g of Great White as per the instructions. We're starting this week off with an oopsie. Upon inspecting the plant, I managed to lean her into my sticky trap which damaged one of the fan leaves. She'll live through it! I'm starting to worry more about the weather conditions at this point. My plant was barely getting any direct sunlight throughout the week, as seen by the delayed growth. She's starting to look a little sad. Let's hope for better days.

Week 5 has concluded and look at this beauty! The weather has cleared up and it shows! I'm starting to see tiny little pistol hairs shooting up from the nodes, indicating that my plant is going into pre-flower. From now on, I'll be hitting my plant with the maximum amount of water because I want to activate all that BioBloom in the soil that went unused all this time. It's said that 20% of water compared to the amount of soil would be a good starting point. So from now on, I'll be watering with 3 l of water or until runoff. This week also came with another BioEnhancer feeding. (1 g/l)

Week 6 is here and things are looking great! She looked stunning on day 39! She also started giving off her beautiful scent. I'm still a little concerned about the time I lost in the weeks prior but we'll see how tall she grows in the end. I wanted to tuck some leaves this week as I felt they were hindering the lower branches from getting any sunlight. I also removed the lowest leaves since they won't receive any sunlight anyway. The results were amazing! The lowest branches doubled in size over merely a couple days. I also fed her with Great White this week because I want her to get ready for her next (and final) feeding. You can see a sneak-peak of what's to come on day 42!

If you already checked out my entry from last week, you would've seen that there's a new addition to my growing setup, that being an outdoor grow tent! This will be a huge help in ensuring that my plants are supplied with enough sunlight while making sure that they're protected from weather conditions, pests and also UV radiation. I wanted to take this measure because I've seen the occasional mosquito on my soil lately and because another seedling of mine got partially eaten by a bug. I made sure he would get what was coming to him. ;) It's safe to say that my OGK loves her new home, judging from the fact that she's growing bushier day after day. Buds are also starting to form. In terms of plant care, she received her final BioBloom feeding this week which should last for the rest of her life. I gave some BioEnhancer along with it and defoliated some leaves on the main stem only.

Week 8 has arrived and the plant has grown too big to capture inside my grow tent. Plant growth has been so vigorous that she might outgrow her new tent sometime soon. I'm honestly shocked at how she's coming along after her sunlight deprivation. My eyes and nose are telling me that she has begun to form sugar leaves. I'm getting an earthy-dominant smell with a hint of pine and pepper in there. She's definitely an O.G. Kush! I also defoliated two leaves that were blocking the bottom branches as I'm curious about their full potential. Depending on the outcome, I might cut them off early on next time around. She was fed mycorrhizae earlier this week. That should help her uptake the nutrients that she received the week prior.
