I germinated 2 seeds of GG4 Sherbet FF, with 24 hrs of papertowel and after that I planted them directly into the soil, one of wear their hat a little bit longer, I refer to her as the ugly duckling or p2.
By now the ugly duckling is actually the more appealing plant, not sure where I took the wrong turn with p1.
At the end of this week, I´ve also added biobizz top max as per nutrient schedule of them, actually only do a drop of them into a litre of water and I removed some leafs.
I´ve measure around 38k - 44k lux at the top of the plants and when I open the the tent I actually already can smell the plants, which is nice.
I send them in the 5th week in flower, as I have limited height in my tent and it was a good decision as they are growing and yesterday on the 16.th of August they have been that high, that they faced lightstress, I measured lux values ranging from 80-90k, so I kind of did a MacGyver SCROG net, this morning.
The measuring for the nutrients is done by eyesight as I got nothing on hand, anyhow you can see the growth on p2, the stretch of the plant have been giving me anxiety, I topped her a few times, she was taking it as a champion, on p1 when I trained her I also break the mainbranch but could fix it with ducktape and the damage have been resolved in 4-5 days.
In general I´m happy with the strain, but I think it´s better for outdoor, even in the tent the ladys are fighting for their personal space.
I was really worried in the beginning as I only saw by week 3 of flower just little pistols and no further development, guess that´s the disadvantage if you send them in flower to early.
The pistol and bud development is pretty slow, she still stretching though, in this week she have been around 65-75 cm in height and doesn´t show any interest in stopping
The buds are finally starting to grow and the plants are at 85 cm, so I made a do it yourself scrog net with the green rubber band I had laying around, which helps me at least, a little bit with the heat stress the plants encountered yesterday.
Have been a little lazy with pictures due to visitors from overseas and other obligations.
Something isn´t good with p1 as she only develops popcorn buds, whilst p2 is building bigger buds like 4 times the size, still not big, but at least I can forsee something harvestable to smoke.
I think the stretching came to an end with an height of 90 cm, after I send her into flower with 30 cm, also added more soil into the pot as roots where coming out of the top.
Well, considering the fact that it´s the first plant I´ve grown and I harvested something, I would say it´s easy to grow, on the otherhand it was difficult!
I had two plants in an 80x80x180cm tent, thought would get a long with it, but with the filter, vent and the lamp, I really had to fight and I think only p2 from my grow diary survived, well until harvested now.
each flower developed some decent nugs 4 in total 2 from each plant have been really strong, so strong that I had to break the stem to prevent them from growing into the light.
Of course it was also heartbreaking, but I didn´t know what to do else, there havent been much space left between the light and the nugs, for one p1 all help came to late, her leaves where crizzling like it´s hot and it have been, at day the temp was it around 40 degree in the temp with a humidity of 30-32%, I started late with the hygrometer, very late.
A lot of the trichromes have been burned away from p1 a bit devestating, but I still got some seeds here for my next grow, which will be an autoflower grow.
In the video you can see some frosty buds, could they be frostier, I believe so, but on the other hand the stigmas and also the trichromes looked very promising, I´m going to spare you with the 4 min video of hunting them from botton of the plant to the top.
This will definitely become an ongoing hobby. It actually turned out in 100gr. dry from two flowers, but probably should have dried 2-3 days longer.
I harvested 211,9gr wet on p2, I mostly wet trimmed her, I have around 30gr on popcorn nugs in the freezer for bubble hash, when I run out of flowers.
I still have a bowl of leaves and stems, but it will be dismissed.
Thanks to the people which suggested to keep the ladys in flower, I thought so, it´s probably the enthusiasm of the first grow which makes me want to harvest them, along with only 4 weeks left of staying at home and the possibility of taking care, before I´ll be traveling 3 weeks to Asia.
So the plan is that tomorrow starts the last week with organic fertilizer, thereafter one week flushing with water, one week of dry hanging maybe short upfront departure and prepare for curing in bags that a trustful person can come over and let them burp until I return, I´ll think that´s the only option I got based on my schedule and available time.
